RUN
AWAY!
My
husband
and
I
stayed
here
for
one
night
on
July
22,
2022.
Thank
God
it
was
just
one
night.
***EDIT
on
August
6,
2023:
apparently
the
name
of
this
hotel
has
been
changed
from
The
Pearl
to
Win
5
HotelS
&
Spa.
I
am
uncertain
if
anything
else
about
the
property
has
actually
changed.
I
would
urge
potential
guest
to
proceed
with
extreme
caution
and
RESEARCH
before
booking
a
stay
here!***
The
only
positives:
The
rooms
are
designed
in
a
lovely
way
but
obviously
neglected
(clean
bedding
but
dust
in
bathroom
and
carpet
needed
steam
cleaning
from
stains).
The
view
from
the
balcony
was
great
for
pictures.
Eveything
else
was
terrible.
Service
was
abysmal.
Beware
before
your
stay
there,
there
is
NO
HOT
WATER.
They
will
not
tell
you
about
the
hot
water
issue
but
will
instead
give
you
a
room
and
accept
cash
payment,
only
for
you
to
later
find
out
that
the
hot
water
system
has
not
worked
for
months.
We
had
NO
TOILET
PAPER
in
our
room.
When
we
complained
to
the
front
desk
worker
on
night
shift,
he
said
he
had
no
one
to
watch
the
front
desk
but
would
try
to
help
us
soon.
We
never
got
any
toilet
paper
and
resorted
to
removing
some
from
the
public
toilets
downstairs.
They
told
us
that
the
hotel
has
about
TWELVE
functional
rooms.
Out
of
hundreds.
On
that
night
there
were
only
eight
guests
staying
in
the
entire
hotel.
There
are
leaks
throughout,
leading
to
a
musty
smell
in
many
areas.
There
is
visible
water
damage
on
the
ceilings
in
many
areas.
The
outdoor
pool
seems
to
have
been
closed
for
months.
The
water
in
the
indoor
pool
is
frigid.
The
men's
steambath
and
sauna
is
inoperable.
There
are
TVs
in
the
rooms
but
nothing
to
watch
-
the
hotel
obviously
doesn't
pay
the
DSTV
bill.
There
is
no
functioning
bar.
Although
breakfast
is
included
with
your
stay,
you
will
receive
leftovers
from
dinner
the
night
before,
but
only
after
asking
for
several
hours
for
service
to
be
made.
We
complained
and
requested
to
speak
with
a
manager
the
morning
following
our
stay.
Every
single
person
we
spoke
with
tried
to
blame
someone
else.
They
tried
to
convince
us
that
it
is
normal
for
a
hotel
in
Kampala
to
have
no
hot
water.
Normal
it
may
be,
but
not
at
a
4
star
hotel.
They
should
be
ashamed!
I
was
provided
with
hot
water,
a
fresh
custom
breakfast,
and
excellent
service
at
the
local
hotel
I
stayed
at
for
the
rest
of
my
visit,
and
the
price
was
less
than
1/3
of
the
cost
of
the
Pearl.
After
waiting
to
talk
to
a
manger
for
over
1.5
hours
and
being
told
that
the
"Chairman"
would
come
to
talk
to
us,
we
were
denied
a
refund
and
left
the
establishment.
We
first
visited
this
hotel
in
December
2017
and
enjoyed
a
nice
afternoon
of
drinks
at
the
outdoor
bar
by
the
pool
that
is
now
defunct.
It
is
so
sad
to
see
such
a
new
and
beautiful
project
fall
into
ruin
and
disrepair
in
less
than
5
years.
This
hotel
is
extremely
mismanaged
and
no
one
takes
accountability
for
any
of
its
problems.
The
owners
shoudl
be
ashamed.
