Win 5 Hotel and SPA , formerly called The Pearl of Africa Hotel is a 5 star hotel located in Upper Kampala hill in Nakasero, near State House Lodge Nakasero Kampala, with 2 main entrances to it, one via Lugard road, State House side. It's has spacious rooms for indoor conferences, adequate parking lot, and gardens to relax from. It's a storeyed hotel too. The rooms are so classy with state of the art services, including tasty food. The scene is wow. You're able to view Kampala city from the Hotel, being strategically located.

This is one of the worst hotels I've been to.First accessing it was a whole other issue. Then the staff is completely demoralised and unfit for work. The security guard was not in uniform looking like an ordinary civilian. We could not pay using card as the machine was supposedly "out of charge". Whole place was deserted and no staff to even receive you. We were kept waiting for over an hour just to get a room as it was being cleaned, keeping in mind the 6 hr journey we were just from. On reaching the room it was stuffy and dirty with no access to any ventilation other than AC. We left an hour later. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Ample parking space, best customer service, amazing rooms for those I could afford🀣, their gym is so amazing with professional instructors, needs some renovation on the ladies steam and sauna, their English breakfast and lunch is too good to believe. You can eat as many time as u wish🀣🀣🀣. The inside pool is the best because it allows you to move freely to the bathrooms. Indeed it's pearl of Africa

Worst hotel I ever seen in my life. No hot water in showers, you should request and it will take 4 hours. AC isn't cooling the room. Water cutting sometimes. Phone not working so you're unable to call the reception. Gym equipment is old & not working and unable to use. Swimming pool is full of dust and unable to use. Outside pool is dry. The Egyptian manager is not professional at all and very rude.

A beautiful place, tastefully decorated, a warm welcome, with little care, beautiful weather The hotel is really great. Everyone is in a good mood, helpful and incredibly kind. The hotel is very well maintained and very clean. Spacious and comfortable room. You will have wifi everywhere. I am more than satisfied with my stay exemplary services and warm welcome from all the staff. The food is excellent and varied. I highly recommend

Worst hotel and service, rude staff, power outages, no hot water, bad food quality. Overall pathetic hotel. Doesn’t deserve to be even a 1 star hotel . I recommend don’t even get close to this hotel.

My visited to the Pearl of Africa was very disappointing. The suite was beautiful and had a great view but there were so many problems. There was no hot water in my room. I called the front desk many times about this issue. They told me it takes a few minutes for the water to warm up. It took 25 minutes of me letting the water run for it to get warm and another 15 minutes for it to get hot. It never got better. The TV wasn't working in the room. They said it would be up the next morning and it was not. The wifi went out the second day and never came back up during the duration of my stay. The morning of check out there was no running water. I called down to the receptionist and told them there was no water. I couldn't flush the toilet, take a shower, or wash my hands. They turned it back on , but the water came out in a trickle. There was not even enough water pressure to shower . After an hour the water was completely off again. It's so sad such a beautiful hotel went down the drain. I can only imagine this are the results if the impact of covid. I expected so much more, but sadly my experience was far below my expectations. I am not sure if I would stay here again.

On the top of one of Kampala's 7 hills.... You enjoy a quiet ambiance with absolutely no nose from the city centre. Beautiful indeed.

RUN AWAY! My husband and I stayed here for one night on July 22, 2022. Thank God it was just one night. ***EDIT on August 6, 2023: apparently the name of this hotel has been changed from The Pearl to Win 5 HotelS & Spa. I am uncertain if anything else about the property has actually changed. I would urge potential guest to proceed with extreme caution and RESEARCH before booking a stay here!*** The only positives: The rooms are designed in a lovely way but obviously neglected (clean bedding but dust in bathroom and carpet needed steam cleaning from stains). The view from the balcony was great for pictures. Eveything else was terrible. Service was abysmal. Beware before your stay there, there is NO HOT WATER. They will not tell you about the hot water issue but will instead give you a room and accept cash payment, only for you to later find out that the hot water system has not worked for months. We had NO TOILET PAPER in our room. When we complained to the front desk worker on night shift, he said he had no one to watch the front desk but would try to help us soon. We never got any toilet paper and resorted to removing some from the public toilets downstairs. They told us that the hotel has about TWELVE functional rooms. Out of hundreds. On that night there were only eight guests staying in the entire hotel. There are leaks throughout, leading to a musty smell in many areas. There is visible water damage on the ceilings in many areas. The outdoor pool seems to have been closed for months. The water in the indoor pool is frigid. The men's steambath and sauna is inoperable. There are TVs in the rooms but nothing to watch - the hotel obviously doesn't pay the DSTV bill. There is no functioning bar. Although breakfast is included with your stay, you will receive leftovers from dinner the night before, but only after asking for several hours for service to be made. We complained and requested to speak with a manager the morning following our stay. Every single person we spoke with tried to blame someone else. They tried to convince us that it is normal for a hotel in Kampala to have no hot water. Normal it may be, but not at a 4 star hotel. They should be ashamed! I was provided with hot water, a fresh custom breakfast, and excellent service at the local hotel I stayed at for the rest of my visit, and the price was less than 1/3 of the cost of the Pearl. After waiting to talk to a manger for over 1.5 hours and being told that the "Chairman" would come to talk to us, we were denied a refund and left the establishment. We first visited this hotel in December 2017 and enjoyed a nice afternoon of drinks at the outdoor bar by the pool that is now defunct. It is so sad to see such a new and beautiful project fall into ruin and disrepair in less than 5 years. This hotel is extremely mismanaged and no one takes accountability for any of its problems. The owners shoudl be ashamed.

I'll be honest, this is one of the most disappointing experiences of my life. I could go to a kfc and have better service, food and ambience than Pearl of Africa. The only decent thing about this place was the buildings architecture. If I could I would give this place a 0.5 rating, and that's me being lenient. I have never seen such good social distancers as this hotels staff. There were 1 or 2 good ones but other than those it was awful service. Food was pretty flavourless, that flavor mostly being from packaged food. The biggest turnoff from the food was how long it took. I could finish an entire movie and still not have my food.

The building looks good but OMG you have the worst service, it seems like you are under staffed, something ain't right, Very disorganized staff, u need an overhaul and get better management to match your ambiance The worst food for a wedding, very many excuses for not performing to client's expectations. Please we need a customer experience that is equivalent to the ambiance of a place.

I received the worst experience at this hotel. Booked for 2nights, room 526, Thursday Aug-12th and 13th,2021. Check in Aug-12th and check out 14th. 1: the electricity went off even before we arrived, then the power came back at around 3pm local time. They checked us in, then after 1hr the power went down and my Family stayed in the dark without being able even to flash toilets. We asked for at list lump hold or a touch so that my young kids could at list have some light. But the hotel didn't comply. We had to check out of hotel the next day as we could not stay in dark with little kids. I need my refund. 😭😭😭😭kids kept on crying scared of darkness.

My friends and I arrived at the hotel at during the early hours from the U.S. The entire property was pitch black dark. No lights outside or inside of property. We had to find another hotel at 3:30 a.m. After being in Kampala for three days, I was unable to get a manager and was told by someone on the property that the power had been out for 2 days prior to our arrival. We received no notifications. I am still in a claim process with Expedia who claims this hotel has not confirmed that I didn't stay there so that I can received refund from Affirm. If it were up to me this hotel would not get one star

It's a very beautiful place, quite expensive but the services are worth the price.! The place has a swimming pool both inside and outside, a steam bathe, sauna, a lounge, restaurant and a well spacious lobby. I enjoyed the ambient environment at the lobby, very quiet and comfortable. The gardens at the swimming pool side are so, beautiful ..! I enjoyed my visit at this place. I recommend.!!

Do not be deceived by what you see on the website. This was the most shocking experience I have had at any hotel by far. The building is run down. There are no kitchen staff, no waitresses. I can't get myself around how a project of such a magnitude can go to such waste. There is no water in the bathrooms. Failed project. I wish there was something less than one star.
