All I can tell you is this hotel is perfect all the way to the views, the food, the service. Everything is executed very well. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone easily. It’s a one stop shop for you in Uganda. there’s another resort I believe that is associated with this one in front. It is also just as nice so if this one is full, you could look at the other one also but the Buffett here is so big and full of foods from all over for your breakfast lunch and dinner is something that I definitely was always looking forward to o

One of my favourite places in Kampala, amazing gym, Olympic size swimming pool, lake Victoria views, wedding event space, conference room, apartments, hotels rooms, you name it this place has got it. Facilities and security are top notch. I would have given 5⭐️ but the food needs to improve slightly, but I’m sure they are improving all the same. Please go and check it out if you’ve not already been, you won’t be disappointed.

My recent stay at Speke Resort in Munyonyo, Kampala, was overall quite enjoyable. The resort boasts beautiful surroundings and a tranquil atmosphere that offers a welcome escape from the hustle of daily life. The staff were friendly and attentive, contributing to a positive experience. The accommodation was comfortable, with well-appointed rooms providing a good level of comfort. The amenities and recreational facilities, including the pool and gardens, were well-maintained and added to the overall appeal of the resort. While the dining options were satisfactory, there is room for improvement in terms of variety and innovation in the menu. Additionally, some aspects of service, though generally good, could benefit from a bit more efficiency. In conclusion, Speke Resort offers a pleasant stay with a picturesque setting, friendly staff, and comfortable amenities. With a few refinements, it has the potential to reach a five-star rating.

Such a beautiful place in Lake Victoria Uganda. They have virtually everything from horse riding to their marine services. The restaurant offers a great service with a massive variety of options at breakfast. We went on fishing, were lucky to catch a medium sized nile perch, the kitchen prepared it for us with no charge. Rooms are clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, would definitely come back.

Visited this place for a Business conference spanning over 4 days. Lovely Environment, you fall in love with the surroundings right away. Property connects to the lake which makes it look surreal. Food: Breakfast: Good spread, since it was a conference belonging to the Gujarati community, they included a lot of Indian Breakfast Items, which was a brilliant idea. Lunch & Dinner: As a part of the conference the food was arranged separately near the meeting area, food was okayish. Some dishes were great, some were alright.

I only went to swim, on a Thursday specifically- it was a clean HUGE pool and not crowded at all… We also ordered some food to eat by the pool side after a few laps and I still don’t know why that was the best food I’ve ever tasted.

Stayed in the Resort for several days for a conference. The place is truly beautiful, the gardens and outer spaces are well maintained and the staff is quite friendly and helpful. The downside is the WiFi, the signal and speed are really poor, couldn't get a connection in my room and even in the common areas I struggle to connect. The room's toilet could've been cleaner. For a Resort in this category (and price!) I expected a better standard.

It's a very nice place to hang out, it has horses and stables, there is marina where you can park your boat, you're allowed to fish, the rooms are always available. The only down side is that the place doesn't have a variety of meals or dishes, it's mainly aimed to serve guests that are living there and not walk ins

Great place for conferences and meetings that take more than 2 days so guests can stay at the hotel. The atmosphere is tranquil mostly by the lake. It's also a great place for family outings. Only problem is,if you can call it that, is that it's a ways out of the city centre but also great for one who needs to get out of the city. Lovely amenities lovely service, good customer care and beautiful rooms.

The hotel staff don't talk to one another! They operate in sylos. You must repeat yourself over and over again. I would not recommend spoke resort for group stays. Their front desk is the worst, they are not empowered to make any decisions and have to keep running back to consult the Asians who are the decision makers. The Asian in charge of the conferences is the only reasonable person we dealt with. He listens and provides solutions unlike the rest. The rooms are okay, housekeeping does a fantastic job.

Did some airport transfers (picks Up s and drop offs) at Speke Resort. Beautiful 🏨 All the clients loved it. They should give me some commission for bringing almost 150 people for the EFD Conference.

Awesome location on the shores of Lake Victoria, neatly trimmed landscape and somewhat courteous staff. On the downside, the food was quite lacking and the stench oozing out of the public restrooms by the main lobby were was unbearable.

Excellent place to relax on the weekend. Right on the lake Victoria shore. Very nice ambiance. Excellent and spacious swimming pool. It gets a bit crowded around the pool, so maybe to think for an innovative way of expanding the sitting space on surrounding lawn.

The conference facilities and self-parking lend well to hosting group events. It was a delightful experience for our one day conference. The horse back riding at the end of the day was a nice treat.

  • 3/5 Rahel A. 1 year ago on Google
The place is very beautiful. It has such a great view of lake Victoria. The food is very good. The service on the other hand is horrible. Everything seems to move extremely slowly and most of that is because of the management. The staff want to be helpful but it seems like they don’t have any decision making power over anything. They have to continuously look for approval from the managers.

It’s a great place to enjoy a weekend away from the noisy city. The water views are calming and rejuvenating. Weekends are usually packed with weddings and different events which sometimes take the peace away but it’s generally a nice place.

We here for an evening with about 60 family members today. The treatment we received was atrocious. The conduct of the staff and Bandu(manager). Didn't meet standards that Speak resort supposedly portrays. You wouldn't assume 60 patrons would just all show up for no reason. Point taken with your service. Would never step foot again and will definitely speak about my experience today. Thanks

The rooms were okay hardly any heated water available. The service staff were so disappointing especially waiters and waitresses at the main eating area. Otherwise good scenic views with lots of different activities at the resort.

  • 1/5 Primoz S. 9 months ago on Google
The room we had was absolutely fantastic, the hotel grounds were meticulously maintained and the services I used - such as suit ironing - were really good. The low rating is because of the untrustworthy booking process. I reserved and paid for a room online months in advance. Three days before arriving, the hotel told me they wanted to quadruple the price of my confirmed booking. It took dozens of emails and calls with Agoda to resolve. I expected an internationally acclaimed resort like this to honour bookings and not to engage in dodgy last minute price bargaining.

Beautiful property and tons of activities but incredibly poor service. For a hotel this massive, investment in better service would go a long way. I read other reviews before my trip and i found many complaints of poor customer service but I had given a huge benefit of the doubt until i experienced it myself. The food was okay, room were good, view amazing, equestrian centre was great, WiFi connection was poor and staff moved as though they were forced to be there.... Other than that, I loved the place....

The place is nice but the service was terrible....and the worst part is the service you get as a black person is different from the one you get as a white person! Three white people came right after us and they made sure to treat them well and give them great service while we waited for almost half an hour for anybody to hear our orders. It was extremely disappointing.

We had been there for Christmas, and visit this place often to take a walk or a horse ride. It has huge territory, a garden, 25 m swimming pool, a gym, a restaurant and a bar. I would call it a romantic place for all its gardens and walkways on the shore if there hadn't been a circulating transport on the ugly roads inside, sometimes flooded with canalisation. For sure you will find a place for beautiful photos there. Bar does not have most of the bottles needed to make a cocktail from their menu. At the restaurant, you may have your order quite fast if you manage to catch the attention of a waiter and remind him about yourself. If you come for a romantic dinner, better do as Ugandans do: take a bottle of wine, gin, or whysky, or you may end up waiting for your next drink about 1 hour. Better come early for breakfast as you may not be able to find a seat at the table for yourself. Rooms are clean and equipped with AC. Absolutely no soundproofing, so forget about sleeping in the morning when staff loudly laugh and talk in the corridors. Staff is only friendly with you at the swimming pool bar and at where the horses are. All the rest are either neutral or even a bit annoyed with your coming.

The service from the pool and the spa reception at the desk need to be improved. Doesn’t feel welcomed when i was there. Plus the pool towels are never available when i asked everyday and multiple times during my 3 days stay.

I stayed at this beautiful 5-star resort over several days in late September 2023. It is located in the district of Munyonyo, which is about 10 miles from Kampala city centre. I had a pre booked airport transfer and the journey from Entebbe airport to the resort was fairly smooth, approximately 45 minutes. On arrival, I was warmly greeted, professionally checked in swiftly at the the front desk, and then golf carted to my room, which was lakeside. My room was very well decorated, spacious, comfortable, clean and with an air conditioning unit. The bathroom was of a good space, with good quality toiletries.I also had an outside balcony with a table and seating area. The daily sun rise view was spectacular. The Breakfast served was lovely, a good, tasty variety. It is a self-service buffet, but you can order from your table. The gardens within the accommodation living area are spectacular - so many varieties of plants and some bird life too. The living areas, both inside and out, are very tranquil. I also had dinner in the hotel dining area - it was delicious, in a comfortable space and reasonably priced. There is a facility to change your foreign currency at the hotel, which is convenient. I was allowed a late check out till around lunchtime, at no extra cost, as my flight was late afternoon. Check out was swift as was my transfer to the airport. What stood out for me during my stay was the high quality of service throughout - be it in the dining areas and the living space. I don't like to single people out; however, I will mention a couple of people. Firstly, Robert, one of the supervisors at breakfast service, was exceptional - warm welcome, courteous manner, prompt service, table awareness of what the customer required was first class. I would also like to say a big ‘shout out’ to Chef Diana, who makes the most amazing omelette you will ever taste - it is also presented beautifully on the plate. As a guest, the visibility of the senior leadership team at this venue was reassuring. This is a high-quality hotel with exceptional service - and I strongly recommend a stay here.

Like an oasis in a desert: very beautiful and well kept, with well manicured lawns, lovely flowers and foliage, lots of trees and a fresh atmosphere, next to the lake. Rooms are large, beds and pillows comfortable. Olympic size swimming pool, large gym, spa, sauna, massage services, large indoor and outdoor areas for hosting events. Very welcoming and friendly staff, and both the buffet and a la carte menus are awesome. A relaxing experience.

the ladies in charge of checking at the entrance of the restaurant are not welcoming. the requirement to wear a mask is reserved for local people only. foreigners are not obliged to wear them because they are allowed to enter. Not a good place for black people. Bartenders and hostesses are all blacks but do not allow blacks entry without masks. It must be a consign given by the bosses of the place. Too much discrimination, too much complication. it is not welcoming and it is expensive too expensive especially the meal is not served in large quantities. not good.

Really a wonderful and comfortable hotel, the staff was very hospitable and the grounds are immaculate and have the feel of rural Uganda without having to be far from the city. Our stay there was a great respite from a long day of flights before heading into the hustle and bustle of Kampala propper.

First the guy at the reception asked for payment when the booking was fully paid...someone else had to come and look at the booking to tell him that it was paid for. Then the cottage was dark and musty...we had to air it out. The waiter gave us a used and soiled kids menu...he insisted there was no new one available but somehow 'manufactured' a new one when I insisted he take the soiled one away Then the menu for in room dinning did not have the number to call...one number in the phone rang presumably in someone's room/office before I found the correct number taped to the table. Breakfast buffet is not fantastic... We enjoyed the house riding, lake front, swiming pool, etc but figured we would make it a day trip if we come again. We will not be staying overnight again as we did not love the experience.

Very beautiful property with an amazing location. The design of this property blends very well with the nature around. The staff are polite and very helpful. The bigger options could be increased, however the food was delicious. The rooms are spacious, well ventilated and clean, and invite you to relax African style; yet the most inviting part of the room was the balcony, especially under a dark night sky with the stars out with minimal light pollution!! Being situated on the banks of Lake Victoria, you have a beautiful view (not from the room though) with a variety of species of flora and fauna around, right from the Marabou storks to Vervet monkeys dining with you (literally 🤣). Definitely a go to on my next visit to Kampala and will try the boating tour (30min-USh40,000). 👍🏼😊

I have taken my time to think whether or not I wanted to review this place. But I must. First off the food was alright. The rooms are alright too. The horse riding is also alright. Calabash Munyonyo is also alright. The issue is the health club. The changing rooms are inside the gym. So if you're in the gym, you have to make do with a half naked and dripping swimmer walking through the gym. As for the steam and sauna, big big DISAPPOINTMENT. I doubt I'll ever go back there with that mind. There are so many places in town that have better service at that point. I can't give them 4 stars or even 5 for that matter

A great pool to go swimming, a nice gym and the sauna is decent. Its best to go when Its not crowded, but even if it is the pool is big enough to fit a lot of people. The hot tubs are broken down and neglected. Food and snacks are quite good, but a bit on the expensive side for basic food. Drinks also have a bit of a markup but its understandable for a venue of this sort.

This resort we enjoyed a lot. Very good food at the restaurant, which has indoor and outdoor seating. Great buffet breakfast with variety of savory and sweets. Banana bread excellent. A really big pool at the spa area, which is located near the main gate., smaller pool with a very cozy setting more towards the lakeside area. Security top notch, and staff is very flexible and helpful, going out of their way to help and assist. Recommend, worth the money.

This place is considered one of the largest and best resorts, so I see it integrated in all respects, and it contains various services in accommodation, eating, entertainment, swimming, horse riding and cruises, here you wander inside this place without feeling bored, and many seasonal parties are also held, and it is open to young and old , I tried the restaurant and the coffee is beautiful, I tried the boat cruises and it was a very fun day, I will repeat the visit every chance I get.
