Nyumba 591 is more of a budget accommodation facility that provides clean, safe, strategically located guesthouse/hostel for tourists, business travelers, volunteers, NGO and government employees who wish to be near to the city but not wanting to pay so much money for accommodation. Nyumba 591 provides a fully furnished and fully serviced residence walking distance from the major attractions such as Acacia Mall, Kisemente, Uganda Museum, Mulago Hospital and many of the popular surrounding areas of Kampala.

Nyumba 591 is a sweet hilltop compound with a variety of room options in three buildings. Clean, fresh and peaceful, it us a haven in the middle of a fun and busy part of Kampala. It has a boutiquey but unpretentious feel, and I highly recommend it.

I have always enjoyed my stay at Nyumba 591. It's located 5 minutes walk from Acacia Mall and other important places for you to get almost anything you need. The caretakers are friendly and have always been of extra help whenever I asked for anything. The atmosphere at the place is amazing, well-curated with murals on the outside and outstanding interior decor that will definitely catch your eye. The most outstanding thing about Nyumba 591 for me would be the neighborhood in which it is located. It's caught in between low case Kampala and the cozy silent Mulago neighborhood.

Reservation was canceled, because a bigger part showed up. It just became a dormitory :-(

Nyumba was in a slightly odd and hard to get to your location, but it was near Acacia Mall, and the facilities were very nice. Since then when I stayed there it has been removed from the Peace Corps safe lodgings list, but I think this is probably still a very nice place to stay when you are in Kampala.

Why don't you just put your prices in Uganda shilling ? All the places I have stayed in Uganda have the price in Uganda shilling. You can get the full exchange rate if you use a Equity bank atms in Uganda. So your rate is 8 usd x 4000 =32,000.

This hostel is such a cozy place. I spent two weeks living in the private apartment and had amazing memories of the people and area. The staff is super friendly and the whole place feels like ur just at home chilling with ur family.

Nyumba 591 is located approximately within 10 minutes from prominent spots in Kampala such as Mulago Hospital, Uganda Museum, Acacia Mall, and Makerere University; Kampala CBD is just 15 minutes away. The rooms are neat, the mattresses are comfy, the WiFi is functional, they offer breakfast, open kitchen, the staff are generous, and prices are inexpensive. It gets hot in the room, therefore I'd recommend installing a fan, the toilet is clean yet only one for everyone which makes it busy at times (especially in the morning), maybe install a doorbell to alert them when someone is at the gate (because sometimes the security guy is not around). I admiringly recommend this property.

Interesting little place. Call first to get great guidance on how to find it (Google Maps) and they'll be sure someone is there to greet you (I showed up after curfew started ... Thus I was in a pinch!) For a bed when pressed ... It definitely worked for me. Sadly, WiFi was out, but all else was functional.

I don't know if they are still operating as a hostel. But the place was very homey and nice. It was great when there were travelers who had clean habits but dirty travelers can sour the experience very quickly.

(Translated by Google) After traveling around the country as backpackers, my boy and I spent our last days of travel in Kampala. We stayed in Nyumba 591 and the truth is that we hit 100%, very clean and quiet, the rooms are great and it has hot shower! The common areas very nicely decorated to spend a few days of relaxation before returning home.

Lovely Backpackers house. Very clean, agreeable and nice. The facilities are excellent. The mattress of the bed was amazing, we really enjoyed our night 🌃 there.

It's a good location but the habit of cheating on the dollar rate is becoming annoying. The rate is 3.6oo sh per 1dollar, but the owner tells staff to round it up to 4.000 . Additionally I am usually awaken at 7am by a permanent lady who lives here and calls in a personal trainer to work out right outside the bedroom windows. This is my second long term stay here and am not going to come back.

Negatives: Hostel is quite far from the centre. At the top of an unlit dirt road, making it hard to return after dark. Positives: Best value I've found in Uganda! Friendly cats hanging around. Massive room, quirky decoration. Good mosquito net. Kitchen fridge & utensils available for use. Close to large supermarket, two good coffee places (Café Javas & Endiro).
