UPDATE After posting this review, a manager contacted me. He offered us a weekend in the diplomatic suite for 4 people to make it right. That trip was much more pleasant that my previous visits. The rooms were clean. ,staff were friendly and accommodating. Every restaurant was stocked and the food was great. I greatly appreciate the management reaching out to give me another opportunity to have a better experience. Latitude 0, you have won me over. I could see myself returning n the future. Thank you! ************************** I know most people find Latitude 0 a beautiful place. Have tried, twice now, to love it. I don’t even like it. Yes, the decor is beautiful! The atmosphere they create is unique and so pleasing to many people. I will give them that. Yes, Latitude 0 has done a great job at creating a beautiful and unique looking resort. If that is what you are looking for in accommodations then book a room. My negative review comes from the lack of professionalism and meeting the needs of its guests. My first stay, I booked the diplomatic suite for a girls weekend. We booked about a month in advance and then followed up the night before check-in. Upon arrival, we found out that our room was given to a celebrity. The whole point of our trip was to be all together in one room. They put us in two separate rooms. The manager apologized over and over, but the celebrity won on that one. We were not as valued. There was no hot water, and we had some electrical issues that both went unresolved. We just wanted a nice weekend away and in the room we booked. I swore to never go back. This past weekend required me to travel again to the area and I decided to give Latitude another chance. I kid you not, at check-in, the could not find my reservation, even after showing my email confirmation! Then I was told me and my guest could only have one key because they didn’t have enough keys and that we’d have to wait for someone to check out. We had a meal mishap that took too long to resolve leaving my guest without dinner. The restaurant manager apologized over and over and asked us to give them a second chance. After explaining to him that this was my second chance, he insisted on getting my information to make things right, I’ve yet to hear from him. The beds were hard. The final straw was ordering room service. I called to order 2 omelettes for room service. Then I was told I’d be charged 35,000 for each item for room service. That’s tacky for such a “luxurious” place. Here’s what I’ve concluded, if you are ok with just a beautiful place, then go. But if you also want the best customer service and experience without constant apologies and no action, then book somewhere else. Latitude 0, you need give your employees the authority to make things right when things go wrong. Stop with the apologies, just make it right!

I can highly recommend this hotel. We stayed there in October 2021. Our room was sparkling clean, very nicely decorated and equipped with all the necessities (functioning aircon, clean towels, toiletries, safe, TV etc.). We stayed in a superior room so we also had a bathtub. Our room was cleaned everyday. The hotel is on top of a hill in a very quiet location and we could enjoy a nice view of Kampala from our room. I loved the food at the restaurant, the breakfast buffet and coffee was delicious. Lunch menu was very rich, albeit a little expensive. There is a plunger/French press with proper Ugandan coffee and tea in the room. You can also leave your valuables in the safe in your room. Staff was super helpful and pleasant, always eager to please you. I only have two small remarks: 1) It is difficult to find the hotel because there are no road signs. So, if your driver does not know the area, it may take some time to find the exact location. 2) You need to bring crispy, clean US dollar bills. When we were checking out, we had some extras to pay and the receptionist did not want to accept our bills, although they are valid US dollar bills (dated after 2009, which is a must' in Uganda). Apparently, you must pay them with super-crispy bills, which was a little bit annoying.

Yes, yes, yes. The journey from town to get here was all worth it. You enter a different world once you get pass the gate. Excellent service and vibe. The decor is top notch and being just outside Kampala, has a fantastic view. The food is scrumptious and well prepared. The sushi was a winner for me.

One of the best spots with great view of the Kampala city. A good place to dine in with friends and for events like weddings, birthdays and proposals. Very accessible with both private and public means.

The only hotel I will stay in Uganda! Liked · I loved everything about this place. I had a car service collect me from in Entebbe airport, this was around 4 am. The car was lovely and my driver was kind. Check in was smooth and I was allowed an earlier check in time which i was very grateful for. breakfast every morning was delicious. There was an array of Ugandan foods and English full breakfast and American breakfast. Ugandan tea was delicious every morning, I was served by Robert who was a delight, he was attentive and made my trip amazing. The meals in the restaurant were also delicious and the cocktails are strong and yummy! I also had a massage which was so relaxing and honestly needed after my flight would recommend. The pool area is so scenic and lovely. Now during my stay i had an incident which meant i needed to stay extra days and they were nice enough to find me a room despite it being busy period. This was supported by Joyce who really is a Queen, she went above and beyond. The manager of the hotel actually let me use his phone during and topped up credit to allow me access my family. They really are amazing. The security at the hotel is amazing, the night shift guard was a lovely young man. This hotel is the only hotel i will stay in Uganda i cannot recommend it enough.

I absolutely loved my stay over here. You get a beautiful view of Kampala especially at night. The hotel exterior and interior is amazing and has a touch of class. I loved the decor. The staff were very helpful, kind and couldn't do enough for us. We were welcomed right from the receptionists, to the cleaners. The food was very tasty and the waiters, waitresses plus chef were wonderful. The manager was welcoming and lovely too. I honestly can't fault anything about this fabulous hotel.

Beautiful Decor, But Disappointing Front Desk Experience I recently stayed at the hotel. The hotel's interior design and decor are truly outstanding and among the best I've seen. Unfortunately, my interaction with the receptionists was some of the worst experiences I had. I had lunch at the hotel in the fist day, I didn't enjoy it, so for dinner I ordered delivery food. When my delivery arrived, I asked at the reception whether the delivery person can come to to the reception of if I needed to go to the gate. The receptionist seemed visibly upset about my decision to order from outside, responding by instructing me to proceed directly to my room without any detours. After collecting my food I explained to here such rude treatment of guests was not necessary, Regrettably, she responded by defending her behavior rather than offering an apology, leaving me even more frustrated as I left the conversation. And, when I was checking out, they made a mistake in my laundry fees. When I explained this to the receptionist (this is a different receptionist), her response was unfortunately impolite. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and rectifying it, she insisted that amount is posted and can't change it. Eventually, after checking with her manager, the correction was made. However, I couldn't help but notice a certain displeasure in her demeanor throughout the interaction, despite being unclear about the cause for her apparent frustration. In conclusion, while the hotel's interior design is truly exceptional, my experience was marred by disappointing interactions with the front reception desk. The front desk is the face of the hotel, and their interactions can significantly impact guests' perceptions of their overall stay. I sincerely hope that my feedback is taken constructively and that steps are taken to improve the customer service experience for all guests.

Christmastime is in full effect at Latitude 0 Hotel. Dinner at their “Other Side” restaurant was a nice quiet experience and very tasty. Gotta love the unlimited sparkling water that’s complimentary. It’s unique and no other restaurants or hotels in Kampala offer free filtered or sparkling water. Such a nice service!

Well, Google Maps led me there. Reached, parked, enjoyed the views and passed around and made my order. I was offered starters, and sparkling water on the house. Food was amazing, but the chips were tasty though few.😂 I would do it again.

Latitude 0 is easily my favorite hotel in Kampala. Whether you are staying overnight (the rooms are an excellent deal), or just stopping in do do some work and grab a coffee, this place is the best. The interior decoration is incredible, there are so many unique spaces to enjoy. The staff are wonderful as well!

Loved every moment! Beautifully decorated with creative and inspiring decor, loved just walking through the hotel and gazing at it all. Rooms have everything you need, lovely bathrooms. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Food are a tad pricey. Spa was heavenly, best massage of my life and very decent prices. If I ever return to Kampala, this will be the place to stay at!

This place is absolutely Wonderful! I had come as a visitor for some coffee and to have a look at various options they provide. The hotel has three dedicated sections for food: Italian, Health conscious/Local and Asian. Italian and health conscious start serving at 12PM. Where as Asian starts serving at 2PM. The breakfast Menu is also great. It has various options depending on your needs. Some may find the prices too high. But In my opinion, The prices are worth the food, ambience and the service provided to the customers. It is worth coming here atleast once in your lifetime.

I have visited multitudes of hotels all over the world, and I boldly state that Latitude ranks amongst my top 10. It's elevated location which gives a panoramic view of Kampala city, coupled with its unique design/ambience makes it a must visit. Hotel is secure, facilities are top notch and staff are well trained and courteous. Eat a few meals which were tasty and well presented. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be visiting very soon....

Super Comfortable Beds and Cozy Rooms. Food has greatly improved.. like super improved but need to work on timing. The wait is too long.. unnecessarily long for an order shared over 24 Hours before arrival.

We stayed at Latitude for two weeks, and it was amazing! The hotel is lovely. The tasteful decor in the rooms, creative landscaping, and beautiful African artwork that adorns every wall will make you cherish this place. There are so many breathtaking views, and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. As others have noted, there are two pools as well as three restaurants, and a very nice fitness center to enjoy. In addition, the staff is one of a kind. I state this with all sincerity. If you have the pleasure of meeting Carol (Caroline) at the Reception Desk, when you check-in or check-out, then you're in for a warm welcome or tough goodbye. She is kind and friendly, and she's extremely helpful. Her smile and amiability will encourage you daily. Vincent made sure that our mornings went smoothly by ensuring that we had everything we needed as we enjoyed our breakfast. He made sure that "Rasta" had his latte and his hot chili and that we were always squared away and satisfied--definitely the perfect server for us given his professionalism, attention to details, responsiveness, and pleasant nature. In the evenings, we had the good fortune of discovering another server, Timothy. Timothy made us smile with his positive attitude, helpfulness, and desire to please. Timothy, we missed saying "goodbye" to you, but we're convinced that you're going to go far given your outlook and willingness to grow. You really made a good impression on us. The hotel is very clean, and we are particularly grateful to the two women who cleaned our rooms faithfully and thoroughly (Flavia and "RastaWoman"). We were always pleased by the cleanliness of the room and linens. We thought the chocolates, water, and coffee/assorted teas were very nice touches and appreciated the time, energy, and care that you spent making sure that our room was clean and comfortable every day. There are so many people who made this hotel special for us, and in a review of this nature it's impossible to identify everyone who made our stay memorable. Simply put, we are grateful for every person who contributed to our wonderful stay. Last but certainly not least, we thank the security guards who were at the gate and often walked through the property for their vigilance and genuine care. There's more that I can say, but I will end here. It was such a pleasure. If you're reading this review and you have an opportunity, yes an "opportunity" to stay at this hotel, do so. You will be so pleased that you did!

Clearly run by excellent and visionary management, Latitude offers it's guest refinement, cultural depth, and comfort in equal measure. The restaurant menus cater to a wide variety of culinary preferences while still maintaining a signature taste. The rooms, pools and grounds are kept immaculate and inviting. Will look forward to my next stay, and I'm the meantime sharing many find memories with friends from my last visit.

I was very disappointed with the facial I had at the Latitude 0 Degrees Hotel spa in Kampala. The hotel itself is lovely and the service in the restaurants is top-notch, but the spa is a different story. I booked a signature facial, which is supposed to be a 60-minute treatment. However, the facial I received was more like a 15-minute rushed job stretched for an hour. The therapist, Betty, was very amateurish. She didn't talk me through anything, just started to steam and exfoliate my skin, saying that the exfoliation might bruise my skin, so if I wanted to skip it, I could. She did this all while already doing it, which was very unprofessional. In the end of the procedure, she left me with some oil on my face. No serum, no moisturizer, nothing. I had to ask her to take off the oil and then apply my own moisturizer. The facial was overpriced and amateurish. I would not recommend this spa to anyone. If you are looking for a real spa and the best service in Kampala, I would recommend Positive Emotions. The therapists there are highly skilled and experienced, and they will make you feel pampered and relaxed. Maybe the so called therapist Betty should go and learn from real therapists at Positive Emotions. It’s really a shame that such a lovely hotel has a substandard spa therapist.

The place was awesome we loved it so much , but the birthday cake fruit flavour I ordered was so bad. Didn't like , it ruined my birthday. I expected really fruit cake but what they serve us different and simple effortless. - no decoration - no fruits - serving without any candle or .... * Fruit cake must be fruity and sweet. And it is birthday cake so must be added some effort to satisfied the customer.

On a brighter side, very good restaurants. The staff at the restaurants were very warm. Environment was serene and good for a quiet getaway. The meals were tasty and are relatively priced. Interestingly the receptionists were not welcoming at all. When we tried to ask for where to go, the lady pretended to be busy on the phone. Even after we had had our meal and were asking for other details, they were either not interested or feigned ignorance.

What to write there? The surroundings on a hill are mega beautiful. A great view from the hotel on Kampala to Lake Victoria. Beautiful pool area and very clean and detailed hotel. Very nice, caring staff. Great fitness area, mega equipped. Massage and spa area are also top. You can really rent a small office in the office area and hold meetings and work undisturbed. Unfortunately, when you leave the hotel, you think you are in another world. Uganda and the surrounding area are very chaotic with traffic. Highly recommended as a busniness hotel and don't just stay in the hotel. Uganda offers a lot and this hotel surprised me completely positive. It is a good address for business and you can feel safe here.

I have been to this hotel quite a few times, but service seems to be declining each time. The housekeeping team is amazing and friendly. Restaurant people are nice and helpful. Receptionists on the other hand are just awful. After requesting for a particular room and was promised that it would be available on my check in date, when I got to the hotel at about 3pm(check in is as 2pm), I was advised to sit somewhere in the lobby(that is strange in itself). Later I was told by one of the ladies that the room I requested for wasn’t ready. I asked how long it would take to be ready, she said she didn’t know. She however wanted to put me in a room that wasn’t anywhere close to what I was promised. When I declined, she told me that she was going to check how long my room would take to be ready. At about 3:20pm, she told me that it would be ready in 10mins. That was bad in itself, but the room ended up being ready at 4pm.l! There was no apology or anything besides being told that someone was taking me to my room! The receptionists just seem tired and not interested anymore. This wasn’t the case a few years ago. And then they have a manager who never says hello to most people! Sad to see this place go down like this. It used to be fun to go here, but now I’m good!

This place is one of Kampala's gems. I almost hate writing this review as the place will become more popular and the prices will go up. The rooms are exquisitely decorated. The restaurant food is good. One of the best views of kampala. The security gaurds could try harder to be invisible..but other than that pretty nice.

Latitude is one of Kampala's best kept secrets... A beautiful hotel set atop the leafy Makindye Hill with breathtaking views of Lake Victoria and Munyonyo Cape. The most impressive thing about Latitude has got to be its rustic decor with Mediterranean infused architectural finishes. There are three restaurants offering continental, Italian and Asian cuisine albeit at premium prices. This is a great place to eat and sip wine as you stare fabulously, but leave the kids at home, there are no distractions for them here.

This was my first time to go to this place and I had a lovely experience from the breakfast to dinner and the drinks. Sometimes you need place like this one to go and relax your mind in because it’s so peaceful and relaxing. If you’re looking for the working space and you are looking for the remote place then this is one of the places I can tell you recommend to. You need to try there swimming pool and gym for those ones who want to work on their healthy lifestyle. Let me hope to see you there one day.

My husband and I loved our stay there, the staff was nice, polite and very helpful. The interior was beautiful, I kept taking pictures of every corner. I would also like to give a special shout out to the reception staff, Shadia. She was most helpful and patient with us. Although you need someone to help with the parking outside, to help direct people park their cars so space isn't wasted... and the avocado tree in the parking isnt safe for cars that park under it.

Everything is top notch. Love the staff especially. They make this place feel like a retreat and ultimate relaxation. I would however really urge the management to improve the food. The bar is fantastic but the food at all the restaurants is below average. Too much salt in everything and too oily. It could be majorly improved given the quality of restaurants around town and other hotels in Kampala. A lot of the times the items on the menu are not even available. Other than that I love this place.

I was staying with a friend nearby so I just popped up here for meals, drinks, a massage, and a swim a different days across my two week trip. The stellar Annet was the main staff member who took care of me, but really each and every person from the front gate to the restaurant was courteous and helpful. Either adjusting my meals or drink to the way I wanted them, providing directions to drivers etc. Also one of the few places across east Africa where I could get a really nice healthy not too heavy breakfast (though I did have my splurge meal days. A lovely beautiful place.

Latitude O Degrees I can say is one of the beautiful place and hotel in kampala to stay in vacation with his peacefully place good view of some corner of the city of Kampala, about the room and all assistance you can find there they're all 5 stars, especially when the sun goes down you will need to stay long with his beautiful reflection of light, without forget that you can get massage that was the best part for me after a long journey is good to have in a place where you stay a massage room. The only problem is the road otherwise everything is beyond your expectations. It's location is kawa sorrounded by a lot of trees yet it's within the city. Beautiful place with lots of attention to detail and quality. Excellent service, large choice in breakfast buffet, Sunday brunch with live concert, and two pools with great views. Latitude 0 is a bustling, friendly eatery with live music every Sunday. Pitched at a level to suit your buzzing restaurant atmosphere and is naturally of a high standard and volume for your family dining restaurant. Unfortunately the meals lack description or food tags, you just have to predict am eating this 😕.

Undeniably gorgeous surroundings…however if you’re looking for relaxation and calm by the pool, maintenance work happening pool side will ruin that. Upon arriving to a peaceful and fairly empty pool, 7 work men appeared from nowhere and started making lots of noise RIGHT by our deck chairs. I asked the staff how long it would be going on for, they didn’t know. Not to mention lots of staring. Not great if you’re trying to relax. Better customer consideration needed.

Located in Makindye, Mobutu road past the Makindye Court and right on top of the Hill giving you a great view of Kampala City skyline on one side and a glimpse of Lake Victoria on the other side. The food is a bit pricey but pretty good. They have more than one restaurant on the site but personally, I have visited only one. For me the icing on the cake about this hotel is the furniture. It is like they emptied an antique store full of vintage furniture to furnish this hotel. The furnishing in the rooms is equally unique and the rooms are really nice, giving a visitor a unique hotel experience. Room rate go between US$ 160-190 for a room single occupancy but they demand for more money for double occupancy.

Simply beautiful with a beautiful view of Lake Victoria from one of their restaurants. Wide selection of options for meals (rustic home made breakfast muesli is a favourites for breakfast). Definitely recommend 👌

Lovely hotel, great atmosphere and staff were very welcoming (particularly Timothy!). The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the pool and gym. Only niggle was that the restaurants took a while to prepare the food - we typically went an hour between ordering and eating. However it was delicious once it arrived. Also as mentioned by other reviewers, the reception refused to take dollar bills earlier dated earlier than 2013

I had an amazing experience at Latitude. The customer care was amazing.... from the reception to the different restaurants. I was there for a workshop but Brenda, Badru and te took amazing care of us....I would most definitely go back. The hotel decor is also spectacular. Our workshop was one hectic one and I didn't get to enjoy the pool and other services but next time, I will.......Keep it up team

I just loved this place.... It's after the american recreation center is Open to the public. High and good security at the entrance that does a good job, luggage security scanners at the entrance after which you meet a team of three beautiful ladies on the reception to process your access need either for Residence or Recreation. The architecture is themed around a large 2 Storey home with decor in all spaces, restaurants with sitting areas, roomed themed on a mix of African and intricately designed antique British wooden desks, chairs, wall hangings that as well mix with African wooden art.... Menu is in all styles exotic, is rich, affordable is well made, on time, the staff are courteous exotic and so helpful to kids and grown ups. Fresh drinking Water was served in large bottles free on my table and I was good to go. There is a midsized pool, clean and well tended. Latitude 0 being on top of Makindye Hill has a good view of Lake Victoria and surrounding lower towns of Kampala city with a cool breeze to match at all times. I would recommend better signage, and also the access road is still dusty and would do with a little tarmac. All in all a good homely environment with gardens, decor and food coupled with good and fast service I would recommend you visit and make sure you book a room before you set off. Godfrey

Beautiful gym and massage experience. Quite professional. The refreshments can move faster but all good. More parking required on event filled days or notify your clientele.

Latitude 0° is one of the best hotel I have ever experienced for a lot of reasons : service (the staff is so kind) ; dinning options (3 restaurants : Japanese, Italian and continental) ; the work space and its meeting rooms (perfect for business talk) ; the 24/7 gym fully equipped ; the decoration (a tribute to Africa and all its beautiful cultures) ; the swimming pool ; the vibe ; the view. Loved my stay here for business purpose, this made me want to come back for holiday to discover more Uganda. Thank you Latitude 🫡🤍

I had a wonderful breakfast on Saturday morning. I hear there's Sunday brunch. I've got to go back for that! The road there however... Story for another day. The hotel should also put up signage at the entrance.

Lovely place! Feels like you've stepped into a beach resort. Staff are very helpful - we got engaged here the other day and the restaurant staff helped my fiance surprise me. Good memories 🥰

Beautiful place with lots of attention to detail and quality. Excellent service, large choice in breakfast buffet, Sunday brunch with live concert, and two pools with great views. As the hotel sits on a hilltop, the views of Kampala’s hills are spectacular during day and night, especially from the laid back but elegant rooftop bar. A place to spend more than just a night

👍 We specifically visited this place as we were informed they have the best "rolex" in town. Being a fan of chapati,I can attest that this particular delicacy was super nice. It was nicely done. The customer service is equally very good.
