Makerere University is one of the greatest universities in Uganda, which has taught many prominent East african, including former presidents of Uganda, kenya, and Rwanda. With a great location and just celebrated 100 years of operation. It has produced teachers, bankers. Business men, doctors. Lawyers and other categories Silent environment with green trees and compounds allows students to sit anywhere and concentrate. It offers libraries. Research laboratories and many other study equipment. It has a number of offices that are within the university, starting from banks, swimming pools, medical offices, and others. It offers printing in many areas, galleries, and almost museums. But however be careful when you come in as a visitor they will give you a parking card. Make sure you pay for it from the gallery or somewhere else, not the gate. Those people will charge you an extra 2000. I dnt know if the university authorities are aware of this. However, the university has courses from humanities, sciences, and as well arts. Check out the sports centre if you come around and also take your time to move around. Applications to the campus are now online from recent knowledge. You can book for exhibitions at the galleries, check out magret Trowell. Main build and the halls if you love history, but due to the size of the campus. Try a drive-through or dedicate like 3 hours for your tour Students mainly reside in kikoni, which offer cheaper foods and cheaper residentials. Hostels are many ranging from 800k to 2 million a semester. Your class determines where to sleep It has room for business around if you deal in students related products like printing, Internet services, boutiques, food, and others. Enjoy your stay

This is the oldest university in Uganda making it historical place. It's one of the best universities in Africa. It provides a great environment for learning covered up by several trees and green pasture. It is easier to access banking services with banks and ATM's filled within the place. Accommodation is at it best with a number of hostels for people from far places or foreign countries. There is a basketball court, tennis court, swimming pool, well facilitated libraries that encourage research and so much more.

Makerere University is the oldest and biggest university in the Uganda. It is a public university with the most degree programs in Uganda. The university has produced some of the best leaders in the region in research, business, engineering, medicine and politics. Am a proud alumni of this wonderful institution and I have profound memories of time at Makerere. There are so many scholarship opportunities for masters and PhD studies for those students who are interested and merit. All you can do is go to the various colleges you are interested in and make inquiries. Most of the programs are lined on the notice boards. You will be surprised by the number of fully sponsored programs available. Makerere University, even with its pedigree is still among the most affordable universities with a conducive tuition payment process. You study, clear some part of the tuition then the balance is paid just before you do the final exams when the semester is coming to an end. That helps a big number of students from low income families get a spot at acquiring the highest level of education which in turn has the potential of turning around their fortunes for a better life. Though the university administration has been at loggerheads with the students body over the same, requiring full tuition before classes commence. Technology innovation has led to the formation of powerful start ups that are solving modern day today problems using efficient modern approaches informed by data. I found a start up booth of ebikes that the students hire at a small fee a day and ride around the campus to ease mobility while also exercising and reducing the carbon footprint that would have been generated from engine powered vehicles. I really think the best days of this great university are still ahead of it 🥳🥳

One of the best Universities in Africa. It offers a wide range of programs both locally and for international students. Personally I am pursuing a Bachelor of Library and Information Science and I will be graduating in 2024 and all I can say is it has been awesome to be here in a university that is rich in history. The best in Uganda and the oldest. It has enough space in terms of the land mass and it has enough and great buildings to accommodate all the students that enroll.

It's the centre of excellence and a very calm place with many local trees which make it one of the best places to be in with clean air for breathing 😎. It has drive ways within the campus, various tree species, good building and very spectacular 💯

It's the best public university in Uganda with several colleges there, including the College of Computing and Information Sciences, College of Engineering, Design, Art, and Technology among others. It offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including swimming, basketball, volleyball, and others. The university practically completely covers an entire community. Each student is assigned to one of its many halls, such as Lumumba or Mary Stuart, and so on.

This is the best University in East and Central Africa

This university is the best. You need good marks to join and you need better marks to leave this great institutions and this is possible when you are determined. Though Nawagwe was not a good administer and fees is raising at a high velocity that the poor families will in the near future fail to get chances to join Makerere university. I pray fees is reduced.

my experience here at Makerere has been good. Spacious, clean, refreshing, friendly and healthy environment that u like at first sight followed by the well built and established structures . well established roads which made enjoy walking . not forgetting the support they give us the sportsmen ,tennis , basketball ,football, rugby , volleyball, badminton, swimming, wood ball, etc

I did my university education here at Makerere University. For four hearty years, I can tell you that Makerere is the place to be. As a student, the academic rigour is just right. But also a fair balance of sport, music, cafeteria experiences and an enjoyable night life.
