There's a certain atmosphere in Mega standard that you will never find in Game, Capital Shoppers or Shoprite. So today, I was in a queue and I picked two kinder sweets to add to the grocery. I only got to see the price once I received the receipt. One sweet goes for 5000/=. I was shocked so I inquired whether what I was seeing was correct. The Lady affirmed so. So I said, I wasn't taking the sweets. She said it was no longer possible because the receipt was already out. It was the way she said it that bothered me. In a very crude manner with an expression of who do you think you are? So I decided to leave but the lady packing the bags asked her what had happened and the teller narrated to her in Luganda with disgust. "Mbu...," the packing lady laughed while the queue stared back at me. This behavior reminded me of the kiosk ladies on our village who gossip about their customers right in their ear short. What crude customer handling!

This Standard Supermarket should not be confused with Mega standard supermarket located at Alonye Mall. However Standard Supermarket is a subsidiary located in the old taxi park. It's not as big and stocked as Mega standard supermarket but you can find most of the things you need when doing quick shopping
