5/5 Charlotte Beauvoisin (Diary of a M. 2 years ago on Google
I've
been
wanting
to
try
this
Latin
American
restaurant
for
a
long
time
and
finally
spent
a
lazy
Saturday
lunchtime
soaking
up
their
great
music
and
Latin-inspired
decor
-
while
getting
to
grips
with
the
menu
(and
planning
my
return
trip!
😋)
Tacos,
empanadas,
pork
belly,
beef
fillet,
sharing
menus
and
a
decent
vegetarian
"plants"
menu
are
some
of
the
go-to
Latin
American
items
on
the
menu.
The
drinks
menu
has
beers,
spirits
and
daily
cocktail
and
juice
specials.
I
drank
a
glass
of
cold
Chilean
white
wine
at
16k
a
glass.
I
kicked
off
with
arepitas
de
yuca,
cheesy
cassava
fritters
with
sweet
tangy
tamarinds
dipping
sauce.
(Who
knew
that
cassava
could
be
so
light,
smooth
and
appetizing?)
Next
time
I
am
tempted
to
try
the
roast
chicken
with
Latitude
chocolate
chili
sauce
and
Salvadoran
curtido
slaw.
The
price
of
37k
ugx
is
more
than
I
would
normally
spend
for
a
lunch
main
course
but
every
plate
is
a
work
of
art
-
(made
for
Instagram!)
-
and
all
mains
are
served
with
a
choice
of
chips,
plantain,
cassava
chips,
Spanish
rice
or
mixed
salad.
For
today's
main
I
ordered
Peixe
na
folha
de
bananeira
-
fish
steamed
in
banana
leaf
-
(doesn't
it
sound
so
intriguing
in
Brazilian?)
exquisitely
presented,
tender
fish
fillet
served
with
small
cornmeal
"pancakes"
(which
I
didn't
really
get).
Small
matter,
everything
else
was
colourful,
inspiring
and
very
tasty.
My
cassava
chips
came
with
an
intensely
favoured
side
dip
of
pureed
tomato,
garlic
and
herbs,
one
of
the
highlights
of
the
whole
meal.
There
was
no
room
for
dessert
after
this
lot
but
both
desserts
sound
INCREDIBLE.
Churros
con
chocolate
is
"deep-fried
piped
dough
tossed
in
sugar
and
served
with
a
dark
chocolate
dipping
sauce."
This
is
for
you
if
are
a
fan
of
donuts
or
mandazi
(but
always
wished
for
them
to
be
a
little
lighter
and
sweeter!)
I
will
definitely
be
back
for
the
passion
fruit
crème
brûlée!
Once
upon
a
time,
El
Pecado's
location
was
the
site
of
La
Fontaine
Restaurant.
El
Pecado
makes
great
use
of
its
multiple
indoor
and
outdoor
spaces,
meaning
it's
a
great
venue
for
couples,
friends
or
parties.
Well-trained,
polite
staff
wear
face
coverings
all
the
time,
allowing
you
to
let
your
hair
down
and
just
enjoy
the
great
food.
To
coin
a
phrase,
I
will
definitely
be
back!
