History of tin mining during the early days is exhibited here. Very interesting and informative on how tin mining begins. Worthwhile to visit this museum for a small entrance fee. RM5.00 per adult and children up to age 17 is only RM2.00 per child.

A great tour to learn about the tin industry which transformed the economy of Malaya. Being a Perakian, I am always gratitude because of tin mining my grand parents migrated here, earned a living & chased after their dreams. I heard so many stories about the life of tin miners, saw the tin dredging & dulang washing. Kudos to all the generous contributors & dedicated curator to track and capture the footage of the tin mining . 🙏💕🙏

A treasure trove of information on tin mining in Malaysia, specifically in Kinta Valley, a top tin producer in the world at one time. The brainchild of Tan Sri Hew See Tong, a tin miner himself, you can bet that the information offered here is as accurate as can be. Well kept even though the museum first opened its doors back in 2012. Vast exhibition areas indoors (air-conditioned) and outdoors, at least two hours have to be allocated to really go through the exhibits here and read the information boards, which are in three languages (English, Malay and Mandarin). The museum is open daily from 9am until 5pm. The entrance fee (ticket) is RM5 for visitors above 17 years old, RM2 for those 6 to 17 years old and free-of-charge for those below 6 years of age.

Gotta appreciate the effort to curate and preserve a moment in time when tin mining was the mainstay of the local economy. Good exhibits and great deal of info to absorb. Can get a little warm especially the upper floor at the back which displays some historical mining documents. All this for a token sum of RM5/adult and RM2/child. Add RM1 to feed the fishes at the pond.

I LOVE museums! They are so organized and makes decision making and understanding of life meaningful. This one in Kampar is no different. The visit to Tualang Kapal Korek merged with this museum completes the pathway of tin ore history in Malaysia well at least in the Kinta region. Private & government museum management complement each other. Well done 👍

For a free museum, this museum delivers both quality and quantity aspect. They has has many illustrations and mannequins to help in portraying the tin mining history but in the same time, it is compact with details. You can walk around the museum too see the tin miner lifestyle and technology of tin mining. Besides that, the guard of this museum is talkative and friendly towards visitors.

It's a private museum. Rm5 per entry for adult. It's good to know the history of tin mining which basically kick started Malaya economy and until now, still holding the record of No. 1 tin mining industry in the whole world. Guided tour is an extra here because the staffs would approach u to give u the tour if they're not busy with other chores. U r lucky if u r approached with 1. My tour guide is Pow, an intern doing his internship with the mine museum. Good effort from him. Oh yeah, u can try mendulang here. It's fun. Definitely a yes go esp for family and for the knowledge.

Nice preserved historic place on tin mining process and procedure. Since there are entrance fee, why not maintain those equipment that give the users a good experience at the outdoor. Need to have a guided tour and more interactive one

Lots of photos and display. Interesting but confuse about process of mining tin and making tin. Display and photos not in order or explain in sequence. Entrance fee reasonable.

A small museum but the contents give a fairly good reflection of how tin mines in Malaysia were managed and operated from the perspectives of the owners, the workers and the govt, including when Malaysia was ruled by the Nipppn Govt.

This is a very interesting museum about the history of tin mining in the Kinta Valley, and Malaysia in greater context. There are various exhibits are actual artifacts as well as models that are created to demonstrate and portrays the tin mining livelihood during its peak period. Entrance fee to the museum is very affordable and visitors can plan to spend a couple of hours here.

Basically it's a museum for local tin operation. It's a good place to learn more about the older Chinese generation when they first arrive to Malaysia. For rm5, I think it's well worth it. Alot of info about early Kampar settlers.

It is nice and educational place to visit. However,it need more to improve on how to deliver the information as too extra of mandarin/chinese language been applied. Moreover, need to do spring cleaning as too much dust and fingerprints on the exhibition glass.

Are you keen on knowing the history when Perak is the tin planet to the world? This is a place you could explore and experience instead of googling around the internet. Walls of documents and miniatures plus the real items from used to be tin mines all over Kampar and Perak. Want to know more? Be there!

Great display of engineering marvel back in the old days. From hand dug mines to gravel pumps to excavation by machine, it was a thrill for me as an engineer to see what technology does for mankind. The place is not very well visited. May not be too exciting for children to visit and understand.
