Chan Siew Heng Claypot Rice Chicken 陈少卿瓦煲鸡饭

Restaurant

👍 The food is good. Not salty and I like it. They are still using charcoal for cooking the claypot chicken rice. That's why the aroma smells really nice. Must add-on salty fish (will regret if u didn't). The chicken is so tender and juicy. People often mention chicken, rice, claypot, fish, good, salted, taste, Kampar, Claypot, price,

If you are looking for the best Claypot chicken rice in town, heck maybe even in the whole of Malaysia, this is where you need to go. It might not as pretty as the Claypot chicken rice you'd find in places like KL, but boy oh boy, every single grain of rice was infused with the salted fish aroma and taste, making every bite all the more enjoyable. The lap cheong gives it the slight sweetness, and the chicken was tender. The taugeh was well-seasoned, not salty as the focus should definitely be the Claypot chicken rice.

This is a must-try for anyone coming to Kampar, the price is very reasonable an the food is Incredible. Must order the salted fish chicken rice because it is ten times better than the original one. Despite the older furniture of the restaurant, the food is worth traveling a far way to try and I bet most people will find food here incredibly satisfied to eat.

Delicious claypot chicken rice. But the highlight is their off menu steam chicken dish. Perfect combination of ginger and tender chicken. Definitely a must order when you come here. 👍🤗

No frills old school place, 16 bucks, no bad but when busy, may mistake a bit but owner ok, can come. One of the better tasting around here though not the most famous and exp if you know...

Nice claypot rice with good aroma, chicken is not over cook and tender, the sauce is at the right flavour. And very consistent in quality so far. Just hope the owner can keep up some cleanliness of the shop. Not forgot also to try out the red sugar cane juice, very refreshing and sweet.

Tasty and savoury chicken claypot rice with fresh side dishes such as stir fry vegetables, beautiful fried eggs, salted fish, beansprouts, braised chicken feet and innards. An excellent local experience in Kampar not to be missed!

Indulged in exquisite claypot chicken rice featuring salted fish, expertly cooked over charcoal for an authentic Chinese culinary experience. The ambiance resonates with the charm of a traditional old-town Chinese restaurant. Despite the slight crowd drawn by its well-deserved reputation, the very reasonable prices make it a definite return destination.

Had dinner at this shop. Heard good reviews about the Claypot chicken rice. Decided to give it a try while in Kampar. Was satisfied with the taste. Ordered the one with salted fish, bean sprouts and green mustard. Owner was kind enough to recommend the two small plates of vegetables. Will definitely return with friends to try, whenever we're in Kampar!

Normally clay chicken rice took long time to serve but this shop is faster. The taste is good but some may think it's tasteless as it's saltiness is lesser compared to others. The mushroom chicken feets just norm though.

We got here as the skies opened up and it poured. We waited for a bit and then scurried across the street into the shop. I wasn't expecting much, but the smells and the tastes exceeded my prior claypot chicken from another store just down the street. I would come back here again.

Value for try in Kampar town…. We order 1 big claypot + 1 small claypot & 1 dish veggie including Chinese tea only cost RM48 for 5 person. The portion is big and most recommend by Kamparian.

Quite good claypot chicken rice. Portion is also huge. The rice is cooked evenly unlike a lot of places where the rice is often very burnt at the bottom. Best of all the price is very reasonable. Only thing is you'll have to have the patience to wait as the cooking takes time.

["We wanted to try another place for claypot chicken and rice. This place was absolutely delicious, we only got it with chicken and sausage. The flavor and seasoning was on point. The veggies they provided on the side was delicious as well and really goes well with the main dish. The workers were so nice as we didn't speak Mandrine, so the guy who was more fluent in English came to help assist and showed us the type of veggies and dish they provided. The portion size for two people is perfect and I just love the price for the amount of food~",null,[0,237]]

I came at 5:30 and I am the first one to arrive. After 6pm, people started coming in. The price is reasonable given the portion is big for the large portion. (can be shared with two people). This restaurant consider one of the oldest claypot chicken rice in kampar and the food didn't disappoint. When you dig into the char rice, that crispiness combine with the salted fish just tasted really yummy. Can add on some of veges as well like taugeh or stir fry vegetables.

Most people said when come to Kampar should tast the curry chicken bread, but to me this claypot chicken is the one that you must tast it and price consider reasonable.

Nice clay pot rice if you pass by Kampar. Steam chicken with sausage and salted fish. Dining at this vintage walkway restaurant was a delightful blend of good food and cultural immersion.

Read detailed comments from others, either very delicious or very tasteless!! strange. I fall in the very tasteless group. Rice have crust, but no char taste or smell. Lap Cheong also tasteless. Chicken tasteless. All I taste is salt, not even soya sauce. My only conclusion from what I gather is I got the 'quick' version. Pre-cooked rice and chicken. Heat the pot, pour in the ingredients and serve. We were served within 5 minutes. To quick to cook…

Came alone just for the claypot chicken rice. Heard this is the first one in Kampar. Ordered a Salted Fish with Lap Cheong Claypot Chicken, add on a veggie and a glass of “Bang Dai Wun”. Taste really good, not too salty. Love it Ps: E-Wallet payment is available

It was quite of an experience dining at this restaurant, sitting at the walkway of vintage buildings and eating good taste clay pot chicken rice with mushroom chicken feet side dish. After meal, sit there taking in the view of the town's hustle bustle, where restauraneurs cook and crowds come for dinner... All while sipping on Chinese tea.

I’ve tried salted fish clay pot chicken rice and it really tastes so good! The big portion is good for 3 pax and the price is also reasonable. Although it has come with salted fish but the taste is moderate and all controlled well.

AMAZING clay pot rice. Can’t say it enough, do not skip this place. Such great flavor, rice cooked evenly. Garlic chicken side is a MUST.

One of the best I tried or to say the best! No frills, fresh ingredients. Rice are well cooked with nice moisture (not hard, dry, oily and coarse) salted fish are flavourful and not overwhelming in taste almost perfect. Chicken cooked to perfection so a heavenly rendition of by a master. Try it at least once in your lifetime. Not to be missed, all of their side dishes…

Their clayport chicken rice very nice. Not too salty like others. That shop had over 60 years. It is a traditional shop lot with vintage atmosphere.

Not bad. Will not disappoint as far as taste of claypot chicken rice goes. Large portion - big is sufficient for 3 persons with average appetite especially if you add side dishes like chicken feet and vegetables.
