To get here, it is strongly advised to use the 4x4 service. We booked the one that starts from the Nova Hotel. Took about 30 minutes to get here and the journey quite adventurous. To enter the park is easy but they're too many stairs and I need to carry my daughter. LoL. Wahhh..it was crazy but we have a serious good times here. The place is beautiful and you will not regret. The transportation company staffs are super friendly and generous. They are the best. Try to search for Mr. Rama and you will never be disappointed. Quite talented too when capturing your photos. Highly recommended =)

The Mossy Forest was definitely the highlight of my Cameron Highlands day tour. You need to pay 30RM as an entrance fee, which I found reasonable because the trails are clean, well kept and easy to navigate The landscape is amazing there, you will get to see different kinds of trees, plants and colorful flowers, and there are descriptions usually on their history. If you are lucky with sunny weather, the visibility is very good to see the forest from top of the tower in the middle of the trail. The trail takes about 1 hour back and forth, and there are different places to sit and relax as well

I enjoyed the lush greenery of the forest and the walk along the trail was relaxing and enjoyable, as the route was along well-maintained wooden paths with high railings. The mist that appeared frequently during my casual 1.5 hour walk added an eerie but exciting sense to the environment. We were told that due to the recent landslides along the route to the attraction, private vehicles are not permitted to drive up the route and we hired a private operator to drive us up on his four-wheel drive vehicle.

It's a great experience to be here. A must visit place if you are going to Cameron Highlands. You can reach this by your own car or hire a land rover tour guide. The entrance ticket to the mossy trail is RM 10 for Malaysians. Different rates for foreign tourists. Recommended place to visit.

Magnificent piece of nature. I took a 4x4 tour for RM 30 and paid another RM 10 to enjoy the mossy forest. Well managed and maintained by the forest department. It will be closed for 4 month starting 10 August 2020.

Mossy forest are very unique forest reserves found in very few countries… it will being locations similar seen in lord of the rings movie.. you need have trek shoes and rain jacket to navigate through as most part of year it would be wet.. recommended seaosn to visit between October to January. This is part cameron highlands which located 2hr drive from Kuala Lampur.. you will have bus service from KL to Cameron highlands quite frequently or else you can hire a taxi which is expensive option compared to bus trip

No private cars are allowed to enter to the area, require to contact tour agency. I looked for “Let’s Go DISCOVERY” from Facebook, their service is OK! The view from the tower is spectacular!

Personally I don’t find anything special about this place. It’s more like a man made trail cater for tourist. However can give it a try if you have extra time in Cameron Highlands. Driving up here and Boh Tea center can be quite challenging for bigger vehicles, better to go with the local tour guide.

It's a beautiful, misty mossy forest. There are information boards describing the plants and their features in English and Malay. I personally think the trip will be more interesting with a tour guide during the trail journey. The trails are easy, just that the staircase might be difficult for elderly. But as long as one do not have knee problem, it shouldn't be a big problem. I saw many aunties aged around 50++. My bf's mum is 65, no regular exercise but she manage to walk all parts of the trails. Entrance ticket RM10, u need tour agency to bring u up to the entrance by truck, which costs Rm25. If you drive your private car up, your car will be blocked by a guard at the junction before u reach the entrance. I would advise not to drive up yourself even without the regulation because the road is terrible. Kinda disappointed because I didn't spot any pitcher plant. Perhaps the forest is not that "natural" anymore.

We arrived by scooter and were able to drive to Mountain Strawberry Farm. From there only agencies are allowed to continue by car. But you can walk to the entrance in about 45 minutes (about 200 meters in altitude). Entry is MYR 30 for foreigners. The path in Mossy Forest is unfortunately quite short. We'd say that you won't spend more than half an hour there, even if you take a lot of pictures and enjoy the view. It's still a nice place to see though. We can't say what the agencies/drivers cost, but it would certainly have been too expensive for us. Also, it was a nice walk uphill and we already saw a pitcher plant and a Cameron Highland Pit Viper on the way, which was our highlight. Originally we wanted to walk to Gunung Irau. However, this is not as easy as we thought. We were told that a permit (min. 2 weeks processing time) and a guide are required for this. Unfortunately we hadn't found that information anywhere beforehand so we hadn't arranged those things in advance. But overall a great trip which can be combined with a visit to the BOH tea plantations.

It is a beautiful, misty and mossy forest. There are information panels describing the plants and their characteristics in both English and Malay. Personally, I think the trip will be more interesting with a guided tour while on a road trip. We went during Ramhdan days at early morning. Not many people. We enjoy the nature, flowers and birds. The trails are easy, if only because the stairs can be difficult for older people. But as long as one does not have a knee problem, it shouldn't be a big deal. I've seen many eldery, but they manage to walk all parts of the tracks. Entry ticket is RM10, you need a tour agency to bring you to the entrance by van, which costs RM25. If you are driving your own car, your car will be blocked by a guard at the intersection before you reach the entrance. I would advise against driving yourself even without the regulations because the road is horrible. Overall, a great trip which can be combined with a visit to BOH tea plantations.

Way up there is not that bad, just a little narrow and steep. A normal car is able to be driven up but parking space is limited. We went during the weekday, so no traffic nor parking issue. Tickets for locals are RM10 for adults, RM5 for kids; for international visitors, RM30. Bridges are built so that visitors will not be able to cross over to destroy the moss. Very beautiful mossy forest inside the clouds. If you're lucky, you'll be able to spot some critters.

A most beautiful and mysterious forest. The 4X4 Jeep we've hired was the best decision we've made as we weren't sure whether to drive on our own or not. Our local driver - guide was an amazingly knowledgeable guy who could point out all the exotic plants in the forest and more info on everything else. As of Feb 2024, the Mossy Forest entry rates for a local is RM 10/person and RM 30/adult foreigner. Our driver had also stopped the vehicle to admonish a group of visitors who'd stopped by the side of the trail- picking off the delicate mosses off the side of the mountain. He explained how the mosses will not survive in any other weather outside of the area, plus the immeasurable damage done to the mosses picked. The board walk trek takes about a quick 1 hour to complete, but might take more if you're a photo-enthusiastic person (like myself). The forest is amazing, mysteriously half shrouded in clouds, earning it's name : Garden in the Clouds. Here's the not-so-nice bit most first-timers won't know about driving to Mossy Forest : Unless you're driving a pick-up truck, a 4WD or 4X4, do not use your own vehicle to climb up this treacherous road. A normal car that experiences any problems along the way will have to pay a minimal fee of RM 1k for towing only, not to mention inconveniencing the rest of the visitors on the trail line that could cause a jam that can last hours. One normal van reportedly had 2 tires loosing air, only to find sharp stones embedded into them. We personally saw a sedan went through multiple potholes (nightmare for suspensions) and then skidding on certain parts going up, while holding back all the other 4X4s. Some of the pot holes (and there are alarmingly many!) are a few inches deep, few inches wide. There are also cracks and splits on the path about 3/4 of the way up, with most stretches tilting to the side. The path is also very small, making navigation hard if drivers are not confident in handling a two way traffic on such narrow roads. Some corners and narrow turnings have sharp drops. Overall, if you can, hire a 4X4 driver to bring you around. Less stress of damaging your own car, and being able to enjoy the whole ride in the local country way.

Book a tour to and they will take you up to Mossy Forest. My tour pick me up at hotel and bring me to BOH tea sungai palas then go to Mossy Forest for RM50 per person. The entrance fee is RM10 for local and RM30 for international tourist. Currently no private car allow to enter. So you must take 4WD via the tour agency. The mossy forest looks very cool. Well maintained walk way.

Ticket price RM10 Is a MUST to come here ❤️ Look at the beautiful scenery below 👇 The pathway is well maintained so you don't have to worry about how to get up there. Please book a 4wd to fetch you here instead of drive because the route is quite muddy and narrow ** I went there at around 9am and it was cloudy day

It was a mixed experience to mossy. Firstly, the transportation getting there was confusing as many rumours were spreading around. If you have a car, yes, you can self drive to the mossy, it is a bit steep and narrow at a certain location, but not an issue if a normal car can't climb up to mossy. Those who feel uneasy or uncertain about driving up there, can always engage a local agent who uses a high performance 4wheel drive car at a cost of 35rm/person. Once u reach the peak, parking could be an issue as only 15-20 car lots are available, so weekends could be crowded. Entrance for locals is 10rm and 30rm (if not mistaken) for foreigners. The wooden walkway to see the moss is probably 150-200meters walking distance. It was built to avoid stepping on the moss and killing them. Go to the lookout tower for those photo sessions. At the end of the walkway, there is a gate entrance to the hiking trails which requires permits and guides. Nothing much can be seen if the condition is foggy, but in a clear sky, some forest and mountain peak can be seen. Enjoy.!

My personal opinion besides Boh Tea Plantation this is a MUST DO sight seeing when coming to Cameron Highlands. I would recommend to hire a guided / private tour who would show and explain the various plants in the area. There is a bit of walking on man made wooden steps so wear something comfortable to walk with and try to go in the morning. Usually there us not much of waiting time, but today we had to wait over 30 mins as the forestry dept were late to open the attraction.

That’s not the long path. It look like about 300-500 meters. The climate about 16 celsius, 2000m from sea level. The good point is the top view point to see the scenery view 360°. The way up to forest entry quite narrow and lot of traffic. I suggest avoid during holiday or weekend.

This is a great place for a walk, but it is not well signposted. So, some hints: You can park at the museum on the main road and walk to the entrance: walk through industrial estate and start up the road. You’ll see on the right a stone shed and a couple of wooden planks (bridge) to it. See photo. Walk on the right side of the shed into the wood. Walk starts with a sharp climb. Some walkers use gloves here. Wisely. At the top you have two options: right will take you to a summit with a flagpole. Left will take you to the mossy forest proper. Do both. Path to the flagpole is very short. Come back and dive into the mossy forest. It is a longer walk, mostly flat but with a few up/down slippery parts. That is where you fine the real gem!

Wonderful experience, but quite tricky to figuer out how to get there. You need to go to the BOH tea plantation shop/restaurant and look out for a Toyota highlux near the parking area to take you up to the mossy Forest area. No public allowed to go up by themselves. Trip is 25 per person and ticket is 50 per person.

This is the worst road I ever experienced. Then the noticed said it was maintenance until 25 September but today the forest is closed, should just close the road before intersection. Then we have to pay 10 ringgit per person for entering the forest is outrageous just because of this road. I don't recommend for the normal car driver to go there.

We booked a tour through a tour guide near the bus stop. Everything was made easy and we had no issues getting confirmation or organizing our tour. We were told that we would be picked up by a certain time and to be ready. We were ready to go and excited to meet our tour guide. When he arrived we were the first ones picked up and shared a keep with 3 other people. Once we picked everyone up we were off to the races ! First stop was the mossy forest. This forest is so cool, the trees stand tall and are so large. The fog is thick and chilly , it’s almost as if you’re walking through a mist. We climbed the stairs to the tallest point and explored around a bit but all you could see was thick fog , it was still beautiful though. There were lots of people as it’s a popular destination by many, but we found it easy to walk around and explore the area with our group and away from our group. The drive up was cool, as you get further up the hill the fog gets thicker and the road turns sharper.

An easy walk suitable for all ages, as long as you’re ok with climbing some steps. It’s not walking on mud or soil, but just wooden boardwalk. So in a way, it’s close to nature.. but not exactly. It’s a very short walk to the top where there’s an observation tower. Maybe 30-45 minutes? It’s RM 10 for locals and RM 30 for tourists. To continue walking to go to Gunung Irau, you need a permit 2 weeks in advance. Do take note!

Nice mossy forest which able to reached within few minutes using the boardwalk which located around 2000m above sea level. Entrance fee is 30RM for adult (International) , walk up the boardwalk and reach the first tower to have a good landscape view. However, to proceed the trek to the peak, you need a permit. Good for a short family trek with young kids but the self drive towards the entrance is very challenging with heaps of narrow bends - fortunately not much vehicle when we went, otherwise you need super driving skills especially if driving non 4-WD drive .

One of the must see in Cameron highlands. But don't go with your own car. Take a tour. Eco Cameron offers great tours of the place with very passionate and knowledgeable guides. Had a great time and learned a lot. Was fantastic to see the amazing wildlife in that very special forest where you get to see plants that you don't get to see anywhere else in Malaysia and for so.e anywhere else in the world

An easy walk for someone who fits. The view is scenic. Should go up to the tower for fresh, clean air and it's windy. There is also information about the plants and trees along the boardwalk. Careful with your steps because it is slippery.

The forest is always covered in mystical mist which makes it look like something straight out of a Harry Potter movie. A great place for nature lovers. Do note that they have operating hours and are open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Friday and from 8:20 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The closing time of 5:00 PM is when the guards close the entry/exit gate. If you reach late like we did (at around 4:25 PM) they will give you the entry tickets but will clearly tell you that the gates will be closed at 5:00 PM and you have only 30 minutes to see the place. We got so lost in the beauty of the place that we lost track of time and by the time we reached the exit, there was a big lock on the gate and we were locked inside. We were two families with 1 kid each so it was kind of scary. Also, there was no way to bypass the gates due to a lot of barbed wire around it. Finally we screamed and shouted for help. Thankfully the guard had noticed our car and knew that there would be someone inside. He had not left. He came and happily opened the gate for us. Needless to say, we were very ashamed and embarrassed. Crux of the matter, be there on time and try and come out before 5:00PM.
