Kampar
is
a
relatively
small
town.
We
were
passing
through
for
the
first
time
and
chose
to
put
up
for
a
night
at
the
Vista
Hotel.
There
was
plenty
of
street
side
parking
surrounding
the
hotel
as
we
drove
up
late
in
the
afternoon.
I
noticed
there's
a
huge
food
center
and
an
even
bigger
wet
market
nearby.
That's
got
to
be
worth
a
visit
to
check
out
authentic
local
food
and
people
watch.
But
if
you're
lazy,
there's
pizza
hut
and
KFC
across
the
street.
The
hotel
lobby
was
very
clean
and
tidy.
The
kind
gentleman
at
reception
was
courteous.
Already
my
impression
of
this
hotel
is
positive.
However,
the
corridor
leading
to
our
room
smelled
musty
though.
We
saw
the
dismantled
remnants
of
a
corridor
A/C
unit
outside
our
room
door.
So
that
explains
that.
The
room
is
of
course
spacious.
As
for
the
design,
I
suppose
simple
is
an
appropriate
description,
or
functional
as
some
might
say.
Then
again,
for
the
nightly
costs
paid,
I
didn't
mind
because
the
hotel
has
taken
care
of
the
real
important
bits
(cleanliness,
nice
shower,
etc).
My
wife
and
I
were
pleased
with
the
bed,
though
we
were
not
so
pleased
with
the
flimsy
pillow.
The
Aircon
worked,
and
the
shower
water
pressure
was
strong.
Wifey
felt
the
hot
water
was
a
bit
inconsistent,
but
it
felt
fine
when
it
was
my
turn.
We
come
to
these
parts
on
a
regular
annual
basis
and
have
stayed
in
a
few
states
and
hotels.
Wife
has
a
preference
for
small
towns
so
she
doesn't
mind
returning
to
Kampar
next
year
and
staying
at
Vista
again.
That
goes
for
me
too.
