Overall was a pretty nice place😌🥰. Entry fees was Rs.20 per head. There's ample of space inside to roam around. Also there are benches and provisions beside the river Bank to sit and enjoy the mesmerizing scenic beauty.😉 The ambience of the place was a great one ❤. But the lawn and the rides need some maintenance. Evening is the best time of the day to visit it🌅

Need Maintainence..Ticket Cost 20/- but not maintained at all..🙏 This was for the first time I visited and would like to recommend that its not a family & kid spot. Couple's park.- Better name suggestion.

A nice park. Entry fee ₹50 per adult person. There is a restaurant inside. Kids and adults both can enjoy the park. There is a open air gym also, equipments still working. You can park your car in front of gate and parking charge ₹20.

Dedicated in the memory of the valiant Indian freedom fighter Mangal Pandey, this park is a prime attraction in the Barrackpore Cantonment region of West Bengal. It's situated on the shore of the Holy River Ganga. This park is surrounded by magnificent tall green trees & flowering plants. There is a playing zone for young children & an open gym too. Today, it has become a go-to destination amongst young couples. It's a nice place to visit for getting some fresh air, because this area is devoid of air pollution. Cafeteria is also available inside the park premises. Entry fee is ₹20. Recommended to visit. 👍🏻

Ghat view was awesome at sunset. You can spend your time with your family and friends. The ghat was not very clean though. Outside some people are collecting parking fee of 50 rupees for a 4 wheeler, but didn't provide any receipt. I am not sure where our hard earned money is going. Anyway the place is at riverside and you won't regret coming here, 1 hour can be spend. Park was closed when I visited on 15-Jan-2022, Saturday. But I clicked few photos and I think kids would enjoy it.

Good for spare time spending in barrackpore region, but entry price is high Rs. 50 per person. Childer no charge. This price is quite high for this type of park.

Mangal Pandey Park offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle, with lush greenery and well-maintained paths creating a peaceful atmosphere. The park's landscaping is commendable, providing a perfect setting for relaxation and leisurely strolls. However, it's worth noting that the entry fee is relatively high, which might deter some visitors. Despite the cost, the park's beauty and tranquility make it a worthwhile experience for those seeking a premium outdoor retreat.

It's a beautiful park dedicated to our freedom fighter Mangal Pandey. The ticket price is ₹50 per head which is normal but according to the park it's not worth it at all .the entry must be either ₹20 or free coz it's in the army area. There is nothing related to history here don't expect anything like museums or anything for display there's nothing here just a normal park.I am a bit disappointed that people wrote review like it's an awesome place for knowing history but it's not.its just a park with a view of river Hooghly and some activities which are very common in every park.so don't let your expectations touch sky you will be disappointed totally.not worth according to the entry ticket price. 😑

To reach mangal pandey park, one can take an auto or a toto from barrackpore station. The entry fee is Rs. 10 per head and the park is open till 6.30 PM. The restaurant inside is open till 8.00 PM. The park is generally quite crowded but still nice. It will be better if it isn't so crowded. You do find couples everywhere engaged in various PDAs. The restaurant inside has its own boundary inside the park. The temple and the steps to the Ganges are worth visiting as well. The views at dusk are quite mesmerizing.

Just wow Highly recommended, you get a newly open restaurant called Rasoi King, A part of West Wing Restaurant & Boutique beside the park. You love the place the way they place all the things inside. Tea ☕ was affordable 10₹ , place is well clear and hygiene, food was delicious. Good place to hangout with friends and family.A nice place. The park beside it is well maintained and the scenic beauty is intensified after a little rain. It has a couple friendly environment. If you're walking from the main road to reach the ghat, you can see the well maintained barrack areas and the greenery.... have a good day!

this is a very good park for couples and make love over here and there are no restrictions but obviously you cannot have sex over here. But if you are smart enough maybe you can have also that but please don't do it because if someone find you doing it, you will be in a problem. so the place is very nice for making out.

Mangal Pandey Ghat is a beautiful place to visit during the day time. It is located at Barrackpore, about 30 kilometres away from Kolkata. It takes only 7 minutes to reach the spot from Barrackpore Dhobi Ghat. The ferry service is very frequent from Serampore. Just by the river Ganges, a beautiful park is established in honour of Sri Mangal Pandey; the park is named after him. The park is very well maintained. It is decorated with scores of trees and mini rides for kids. Seats are also very clean and well maintained. You can plug your headphones to the music player and spend hours listening to soothing music without any interruption! If you are thirsty for idyllic beauty and wish to spend some time far from the madding crowd, this place is quite an ideal one. It contains a cafeteria within its premise, a playing zone and an open gym. To avoid the crowd it is advisable to visit the site during weekdays. The entry fees are also very affordable (a meagre twenty rupees per head). We heard about the dolphins which can be seen in the river. But, unfortunately, they didn't appear during our trip. You can also go on a boat ride. For a short family trip, you can definitely consider this place.

Located in the western region of West Bengal, Barrackpore is a small town that carries with it much history and military significance. It was the center of military activity during the British colonial era and it is also home to the oldest cantonment or police headquarters in India. There were several conflicts during the colonial era that took place in Barrackpore, the culmination of which was the Indian Rebellion of 1857. One of the heroes of this rebellion was Mangal Pandey, an Indian soldier who bravely went against the colonizers. His actions sparked the Indian Rebellion and at present, he is remembered as a hero to the nation. One of the ways the town honored him was by naming a riverfront park after him–Mangal Pandey Park. It is a popular site for tourists and locals alike who want to spend time together through various bonding activities. Mangal Pandey was a revolutionary martyr during the British colonial era. He was the first soldier to revolt and attack the colonizers and as punishment, he was hanged on a tree nearby to where the present day park is located. To honor him, there is a monument at the center of the park with a statue and inscription dedicated to Mangal Pandey. The inscription briefly describes who Mangal Pandey was and what his contribution to the independence of India was. It also says how he was hanged for his actions. Of course, the main reason why people, especially the locals, come here to Mangal Pandey Park is because of recreational activities. It is ideal for couples and you will often see them walking around the lovely park. Families and groups of friends can get together as well. Some of the most popular activities here include having a picnic and going on a boat ride on the Ganges River. The boat ride does have an extra charge, though. Everything else is free. You can also go jogging if you’re a health buff. If you have kids, they will be amused with the different life-sized animals scattered at their playground. If you prefer to just hang around, you can do so at the best spot in the park, which is the riverfront promenade. You can simply relax, read a book, or people-watch while at this spot. Parking fee ₹10, Entry fee's ₹20 per head. Before going please wear a Mask 😷.

The entry fee is very confusing. They charged 50/- per person if they are friends and 100/- per person if they are couple. There is a washroom for ladies, they painted there 'Sachh Bharat Abhiyan' but it remain locked always. Park is nice. You can touch the river Ganges. There is a temple beside the river. A restaurant is there named as Rasoi King. More or less beautiful place.

Mangal Pandey Park In Barrackpore where Sepoy Mangal Panday's act of defiance set the country afire in 1857 and Panday was hanged & is remembered in this park on the river bank. A beautiful picnic spot & easily reached by train from Sealdah. Mangal Pandey (19 July 1827 – 8 April 1857) was an Indian soldier who played a key part in the events immediately preceding the outbreak of the Indian rebellion of 1857. He was a sepoy (infantryman) in the 34th Bengal Native Infantry (BNI) regiment of the British East India Company. In 1984, the Indian government issued a postage stamp to remember him. His life and actions have also been portrayed in several cinematic productions. Mangal Pandey was born on 19 July 1827 in Nagwa, a village of upper Ballia district, Ceded and Conquered Provinces (now in Uttar Pradesh). Mangal Pandey had joined the Bengal Army in 1849. In March 1857, he was a private soldier (sepoy) in the 5th Company of the 34th Bengal Native Infantry.[1] On the afternoon of 29 March 1857, Lieutenant Baugh, Adjutant of the 34th Bengal Native Infantry, then stationed at Barrackpore was informed that several men of his regiment were in an excited state. Further, it was reported to him that one of them, Mangal Pandey, was pacing in front of the regiment's guard room by the parade ground, armed with a loaded musket, calling upon the men to rebel and threatening to shoot the first European that he set eyes on. Testimony at a subsequent enquiry recorded that Pandey, unsettled by unrest amongst the sepoys and intoxicated by the narcotic bhang, had seized weapons and run to the quarter-guard building upon learning that a detachment of British soldiers was disembarking from a steamer near the cantonment.

This place is only for couples. There is also available boat floating for couples by paying 250 rupees. One major problem is lack of clean toilet. Ticket price is only 30 rupees per head. Geographical view, actual situation and the patriotic name of this park never match each other.

It's a park for visitors and young generation people specifically for couples. Detailed reviews after spending 1 hour 1. Not a clean space 2. Occupied all benches and park corner by couples 3. Inside the park food and beverages cost is overpriced 4.maintained by Cantonment Board Barrackpur But they are not cleaning the park as usual 5. They charged Rs 10/- for parking two wheelers but many of them park the bike inside the park with the help of park security.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mangal Pandey Park in Barrackpore, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations as a picnic spot. From the moment I stepped foot into the park, I was captivated by its serene and inviting atmosphere. I found myself unable to leave, as the park offers a truly enchanting experience. One of the highlights of Mangal Pandey Park is its breathtaking view of the Ganga. The sight of the river flowing gracefully, coupled with the peaceful surroundings, creates a mesmerizing ambiance that instantly transports you to a state of tranquility. Whether you're sitting on one of the benches or strolling along the pathways, you'll be treated to magnificent vistas that are sure to leave a lasting impression. During my visit, I also had the pleasure of dining at the park's restaurant, and I must say, the food was delightful. The restaurant offers a variety of delectable dishes that cater to various palates. From local specialties to international cuisine, there is something for everyone. The quality of the food was excellent, and the flavors were simply divine. Moreover, the restaurant's ambiance was super relaxing, allowing me to unwind and enjoy my meal while overlooking the river. Another aspect that sets Mangal Pandey Park apart is its location by the riverside. The proximity to the river adds an extra layer of charm to the overall experience. Whether you want to take a leisurely stroll along the riverbank or simply sit back and enjoy the soothing sound of the water, the park offers a perfect setting to connect with nature and find solace. The park is well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The cleanliness of the park is commendable, and the amenities provided, such as clean restrooms and well-placed seating areas, add to the overall convenience and comfort. In conclusion, I highly recommend Mangal Pandey Park to anyone looking for a picturesque picnic spot. Its magnificent views of the Ganga, coupled with the super relaxing ambiance and excellent dining options, make it a perfect destination for a day out with family and friends. Whether you're seeking a peaceful escape or simply want to appreciate the beauty of nature, this park will surely leave you spellbound.

The park had everything I was looking for on a weekend trip, the feel of the Ganges moving to and fro, the wind playing with your hairs is something so plentiful. I was imagining that this was the very place where Mangal Pandey shot a British Officer sparking the First War of Independence, such a bliss to connect with the history. If you're trying to visit with your family go ahead because the area is under the Army Cantonment Board so you won't see wacky couples making out every here and there. Also if you would like to try out some delicacies, Rasoi King is right here, the food provided was delicious and fulfilling.

Situated in the bank of river Ganges, this park is an added attraction in the Barrackpore locality. A good place for couples to spend quality time together, for children to play and for morning walks. Communication is good enough.. you can reach by toto/auto/rickshaw from B T Road or from Barrackpore station. The most disturbing thing is the lack of maintenance... It is not properly cleaned, the see-saw and the swings are broken, Toilets are not clean though they are collecting handsome entry fees and parking fees from all the visitors.

Currently the entry fee is Rs. 50 per head, but actually it feels like it should not be higher than Rs. 10 per head. Though if you are a couple, and want to have some place to talk, make love and want a place where no one will disturb you and your partner, then it is a decent place.

A historical place of significance. Mangal Pandey garden is not the actual spot where the revolutionary was hanged, but still historically important as the river banks are in close proximity to everything he held importance. I could almost feel a "Halla Bol" sound near Mangal's bust (just kidding). Kudos to the Indian army for maintaining this place so well.

Very good and calm place to enjoy sometime with your family and friends. The park needs a bit of cleaning everyday but overall it's a clean and green park located within Barrackpore Cantonment area. The river side view is awesome and you can sit and relax and enjoy cool breeze from the river...If you are lucky you can also find Ganges Dolphin an endangered aquatic mammal in the river. People say that this park is for couples but I am sry Cantonment Board has not mentioned it anywhere regarding such ideas... This is a public park where couples enjoy their time especially during afternoon and evening time. It is ok for couples to have some good time together but please this is a public park not a couple theme park so please stay a bit respectful and don't indulge in intimacy in front of general public. If you just want to enjoy intimacy then please book an OYO room and if you just want to enjoy a romantic fun time with your partner then you are happily welcomed. Jai Hind.

This park is named after the famous revolutionary Magal Pandey. His mutiny was the spark that started the Revolt of 1857. Mangal Panday was a sepoy of British East India Company station at Barrackpore. He refused to use the new enfield rifle whose cartriges was made of animal fat ( beef & pig). This park is dedicated to him. It has a statue and an edifice stating a brief history about. It is a popular place in Barrackpore. There is children park with swings and inclines. The park is located on the ghats of Hoogly river. You can get to this location by taking a toto from Barrackpore station.

Nice view of river Ganges from the park, best time to visit during sunset. But the park is not good enough as it lacks maintenance, not worth full to entering the park with Rs-50 entry fee.

Me and my friend just wandering around and reached there during the sunset. From the park the sunset view was soul cooling. The park has some calisthenics equipment which is quite nice.

Riverside is well decorated, you have to reserve seats as soon as you reach there, wait for some time and the seats are then available for you. A longer waiting time for food, resonating with views of Ganges, you will not be bored!

50-50 experience, Barrackpore, being an industrial town, is very very polluted, even though the river gives beauty but still not at all recommended for a family picnic spot. And the parks there like Mangal Pandey and Jawahar Kunj are full of greenery but a big no for family picnics, the beauty of nature is ruined by the couples, very bad experience, we paid for the tickets but didn't even stay in Jawahar Kunj for 10 mins that's how uncomfortable it was. These have become the couple's spots like millenium park and princep ghat and all... Not a great experience...

The location of the park is nice, being right beside the Ganges and away from the city noise. However, the activity rides were in poor condition, with broken swings and slides. There was also a lack of shaded areas, making it uncomfortable to sit in the hot sun. Despite the peaceful location, the park's ticket price of 50 bucks per person seems overpriced considering the limited fun activities available. In my opinion, Naihati Swapnabithi Park or Princep Ghat would be better options for a peaceful and enjoyable time with friends or loved ones.

The experience was great. You get great view of the river Ganga from there. Best time to visit the place is I believe in the evening. Great place to hangout with friends and family. There's an eating joint too inside the park if you're interested.

Hi, I am staying in BARRACKPORE only. So I had lots of memory in This park. But I am not happy because no one maintain the park. Need maintenance specially in children park... I suggest don't allow except children and parent's... Don't allow any couple or nuisance in children's area...

You have to take an e rickshaw from the barrackpore station to reach the Mangal Pandey Park. The entry fee is a meagre 15/-, and there are plenty of spots to sit in the park. It is extremely well maintained, with more than ten benches facing the sea. In addition to that, there are consolidated seating arrangements below every tree, with a default shadow provider in the shape of the tree. It is a little far from the main road, but one can avail an e rickshaw which goes directly to the main gate of the park for an extra 10 bucks per head, from Barrackpore station

They charge 20 rs enrty fee, yet it's not at all well maintained. This park has the potential to be a really nice place if they decide to clean it up. There are a few recreational activities for children and a good place, situated on the banks of the Hoogly River, for family and friends to hang out. It's also a couple friendly spot, as no one bothers anyone.

Mangal Pandey park located at Barrackpore Cantonment area just next to the bay of the Ganges surrounded with nature. Its a walking distance from Barrackpore kheya ghat and can take auto or toto to reach railway station. Earlier the entry fee was not there recently they charge 20 rupees per head for better maintenance. Presently the management take proper care of the park in terms of gardening and cleaning during covid situation. You will find different colourful winter flowers and trees which definitely helps you to relax in the laps of nature. Ample of spaces available for walking and seating. I have added few photos for all of your reference. I would recommend others to avail this place. Thanks.

Nice happening place for family & group gathering. Well maintained system including proper ghat, garden, sitting arrangment and picnic spot as well. Actually good hangout place for couples and friends, still there is family gathering during Holiday and weekends. Transport : Sealdah to barrackpore local train, then toto from outside the station✓10+15 = 25 Fare : 20 for entry, 50 for parking. Seperate charges for boating. Not that crowded, open upto 6pm every day.

Under the surveillance of The Indian Army and BKP cantonment Board... but it has become a small centre for escorts and characterless people to come and do graphic things... for which some dorks extorts money.. When I hear Indian Army I think of pride and valour.. and in their own campus.. works of valour takes place.. anyone with children and elders please avoid this place... or else the term respect will leave your life forever ..

That's a pretty well maintained park I would say. And you will find a person roaming around with snacks and cold drinks so that you can get from them . Entry fee is also very affordable. Overall it's a good park to spend time . One problem I found is there is no separate place for couples and family that's pretty awkward.

River side of the park is the most attractive . You can spend beside the river side ,there is sitting place. Entry cost Rs./-20 for every person .You have to pay fees on the Entry gate. Overall place is very good.

The park in Barrakpore is well maintained. Beautiful place to spend a few hours by the side of the Ganges. There are seats along the bank of the river. The walkways are paved. One can watch boats casually sailing in the river. On the other side of the river is Srirampore ( Hoogly). The river is quite wide in this stretch. The park has lot of paying infrastructure for children. There is a restaurant inside the park , though food and snacks are a bit costly e.g. one small cup of tea costs Rs 15. Park entry fee per head is Rs 20, but it is worth. For good maintenance of the place such fees are required. The park opens in the morning , we went there at around 9:00 a.m. stayed upto 4:00 p.m. One can carry his/her own food/snacks, as we did. Some groups were enjoying picnic by making arrangement with local caterer, may be with the restaurant inside the park. The place is only 35 min from Kolkata by local train from Sealdah. One can go via Srirampore by crossing the river on ferry. Howrah Rly station to Srirampore is approximately 30 min by local train. Ferry service has the provision of carrying two wheeler also. One may enjoy boat ride on river by paying approx Rs 300 to the boatmen available inside the park, looking for interested visitors. So Mongal Pandey park in Barrakpore ( North 24 Paragonas WB) is a good place for short outing for family/ groups.
