My friend and I recently visited the restaurant and we ordered their steak and chicken wings. Because we had a cocktail mix (non alcoholic) in our hand and also because there was no sign that said “no outside drinks allowed,” I asked the server to open the cocktail for us which he did. We also ordered alcoholic drinks from their bar as well. After we received the food that we ordered and halfway into our meal, the manager comes to us and starts to question us in front of everyone, why we brought our own cocktail mix with us. If the server had informed us beforehand, we would’ve simply not even open the bottle in the first place. The manager without even politely approaching us to understand the situation, just assumed we knew that the cocktail wasn’t allowed and started shouting at us from the get go. I would totally understand if there is a sign or if ANY other staff member politely asked or informed us about that rule. There was no reason for them to approach us in a defending manner. I was so very disappointed by this incident at this hotel as it was the hotel my family and I visited often. I came back from the US after 4 long years for that same past experiences. They should treat everyone who comes to dine there equally and with the same respect. Never again!

The food was very tasty. But the floor we had had no wash room we had to go to the top floor for that purpose. it is located in a very easily accessible location. their 'Thava Fish' - pan fried fish (motha fish) so yummy and it was a so fresh.

The hotel is in the heart of town. Close to the bus stand and not too far from kottayam railway station. The rooms have been renovated. The service is good. And they have multiple options for food and drinks. They also offer air conditioned halls on the top floor for functions. Parking spot within the property is also available. Highly recommended if you are looking for a property to stay in kottayam or if you want to stop by for a meal.

Good place to stay. Nice food. But they don't issue breakfast coupon at the room. When I went for breakfast, a person stopped me from picking the plate and strictly told me to get the coupon. When I said it wasn't given to me he showed me the way to reception and told me to get the coupon. No smile. No courtesy. Just rule. I had to go and ask for it at reception and then went back to restaurant after which I was allowed

Attended corporate meettings at hotel aida. Food were really tasty. Happy with their services. Food served on time. Nice ambience over all. Provided enough parking facility. Place is neat and tidy. Over all happy with their hospitality.

Worst service & poor staff behaviour. Went to their premium bar counter. Only one table was occupied. Staffs where gathered in centre and talking loudly to each other. They where not at all intrested in serving and was in a hurry to make us to leave the place early. They where taking the plates from the table before finishing the food.

We stayed Aida for two days and Room was very good and large with a sofa corner writing desk besides other usual  amenities However it has only one socket for charging. Bell behaved and courteous staff. Breakfast was too good with variety of items. Just 3 Km from Railway station and one KM from Transport stand. Staffs are good and it is old hotel with nice Bar and restaurant.

Manager could have better Hospitality etiquette. I myself have been in the industry for 15 years working with Oberois and other bigger chains overseas. So I recognise service thus the review. However the management has maintained property well and restaurant manager or supervisor contribution is good and makes the difference . Food is good aswell.

Location and parking are good Restaurant is good but service is horrendously slow. Room service is worse. They take atleast 45 minutes to deliver one pot of tea , that too luke warm or cold. Rooms are clean and tidy BUT only road facing rooms are real double rooms. Parking facing rooms are forcibly converted to double rooms with separate narrow cots where mattresses are too thin and give you a backache. Here the toilet door hits your knee if you're sitting in the toilet. Even if you ask for little drinking water, they ask you to tell the restaurant or room service even if it is there with the floor service. Reception is confused always. I was asked my room number and keys 4 times after I had checked out. We had 2 functions in their halls on 3rd and 4th floor. Both times they took ages for refilling food articles that had run out. Food was quite tasty though I must add.

Simply put , boring food. All I wanted was a simple veg fried rice , all I could taste was heaps of oil and pepper dumped into it. And the side did along with it was a manchurian that tasted very average , I bet local Chinese places can make it better. I expect more from a 3 star hotel

Went for dinner only. Good parking space, nice taste as well. Kallampam is not worth the price, as it's very small and priced high. Nan, chicken curry items were good. Fried rice also was of good taste. Good dine in space, so you can spent good time with family

The quality of food and beverages served are good. The overall service is better than most places in Kottayam. Clean and has a class of its own. There is ample parking space inside the compound. There is a separate parking area if it gets crowded than usual. There are a number of different spaces according to the money you’re ready to spend.

Had lunch in this restaurant. The food is tasty and the servings are large portions. Small eaters may have to struggle to finish their portions. Food is tasty and the ambience is good. The restaurant is well lid out with plenty of space between tables providing sufficiently privacy. The staff are very pleasing, friendly and helped with suggestions about the dishes.

The food is below average. Nothing special about any dish. I had fish fingers, chicken biriyani, Kerala porota, butter chicken etc. Even though they are very commonly ordered dishes, they all tasted below average. Service is poor. We went on an afternoon after about 2 30 pm during lunch time. One of the waiters switched off the TV so that we would leave. We had no plans to stay there watching TV. It was quite rude and unpleasant. There was another waiter shouting at the top of his voice on the land phone near the reception to the hearing of all customers. It really killed the dining ambience. The poor behaviour and conduct of the waiters require special mention. This is a restaurant which is now cashing in on its past laurels and is still doing well only because there isn't much competition in the fine dining restaurant business in Kottayam. The price for the food and service cannot at all be justified. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Well maintained property, large rooms neatly kept with adequate natural light. They have preserved the old style as much as possible. The restaurant served a fair breakfast and was serviced well.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families traveling with small children. Its in the middle of Kottayam city; the walls are paper thin. We heard ambulance noises and other vehicle noises throughout the night. The convention centre is right above the hotel rooms, since there was a big event on Sunday evening, we could hear the entire event in our room and then the cleaning crew moving furniture around while cleaning as well. The front desk was not helpful. The food was okay, nothing to rave home about.

Hotel Aida is such an old Hotel but still keeping its excellent service and prices. Hope for their best in future. I recommend them to upgrade the outer look of the Restaurant + Hotel but at the same time i dont have any complaints on the interiors

I also stayed at Arcadia during my trip, so I am comparing Aida to Arcadia. The chrckin was way easier than than Arcadia. They only made us fill out one sheet of paper. The wifi was good (it was not good at Arcadia). We got two rooms. One was like a suite. It was updated and nice (the shower was separated with glass walls). The other one was old. And they were actually doing construction right above that room, so I'm guessing they're in the process of updating all of the rooms. But the construction noise was terrible and very disrupting. The included breakfast was okay. They had idili with chumanthee and sambar. They get fried eggs. And they had a good ginger juice.

We conducted a function at hotel aida on this December. Food were really tasty. Happy with their services. Staffs were friendly and cooperative.... Food served on time. Nice ambience over all. They are located in the middle of the city and provided enough parking facility. Pricing is similar to other hotels but provided much alternatives in food. Place is neat and tidy. Over all happy with their hospitality.

I recently stayed at Hotel Aida with family for two nights and unfortunately, our experience was not a positive one. Two of the rooms had issues with the AC, which wasn't working, making it extremely uncomfortable to sleep in. We also had a problem with the water, which was not working for an entire night. Despite bringing both issues up to the front desk, we were told that the technicians were unavailable, even though they were supposed to be available 24/7. When we asked the manager for compensation at checkout, all we received was a 5% discount. This did not feel like adequate compensation for the discomfort and inconvenience we experienced during our stay. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience at Hotel Aida and would not recommend it to others.

As a Kottayam local, I've known about the Aida Hotel for years, and it's one of my go-to options when it comes to both stay and dining experiences. The hotel is conveniently located, and there is ample parking available, which is always a plus. The staff is decent and well behaved. The restaurant at the Aida Hotel is always crowded, and for good reason. The restaurant is famous since old days, but it seems it has lost its food quality.

One of the oldest and good hotels is Aida Hotel and it's providing the option to stay in rooms and arrange parties. Many halls available there for conducting many parties simultaneously. There is two parking spaces available.The staff coordinations are very good.

The room are very clean and spacious. The bathrooms are nice. The linen is also clean and comfortable. Food is good. Located near to the bus depot and easily accessible as it sits right by the main road. There is enough parking inside so it's extra safe parking. And the best thing is that it's a budget friendly hotel. I have stayed here multiple times and I have not encountered a bad experience till now.

Visited Adia for a reception in one of their banquet halls. Right from our entry, we were received with warmth and were escorted to the lift. Excellent buffet spread. The management ensured that covid-19 protocol is followed by the guests. A pleasant experience.

Beautiful evening at AIDA Recently I conducted one family get together at their Rhea hall. Their professionalism was super. They promised unlimited food till the last person and they kept their word..and they made sure no food is being wasted by encouraging guests... Good service, great food and good team to support No unwanted interruptions or no niggles to mention.. You can carry on with your guests , the food and the service were taken care by the team . Super . We all just loved it

Excellent food to date. This hotel is a landmark building in Kottayam as I remember this hotel from 70s while travelling into Kottayam town And each time we have stepped in to dine here we left the place with a feeling of money well spent. Yesterday we had Aida special thali. It had fish mulakittathe, chicken fry and beef fry with coconut slices. Vegetarian items included Sambar, morukari, green peas masala curry, beans thoran , avial, pacha moru, pickle and the sweet, parippu payasam. They charged Rs 240. The taste was authentic to the core. Heard their pothichor is very tasty. When enquired they said that they serve that only as parcel. The dining hall is very spacious, washrooms well kept One can dine safely even amidst the pandemic here as the tables are spaced well apart and the place will not appear over crowded. Expecting to enjoy more meals here.

I have seen and known this hotel right from my childhood, and it still has its reputation intact. I had a pleasant stay here with my family, and a couple of things I really loved about Aida is their complimentary English breakfast and the cozy room. They have ample car parking, hygienic washrooms etc.

A place to relax and enjoy your Kerala fresh food

I am not happy with Aida , they don't provide even 1/3 rd on menu even on Sundays! What's the point in going there? When only limited items. In soups all they had was usual sweet corn soup. Not even Manchow! Hopeless. Hotel was clean and I think too many staff wandering around with many seemed clueless!

One of the very few restaurants at Kottayam serve decent taste food. A destination for everyone who has a second thought about the food taste. Very higenic and clean. Friendly staff. Tho who wish to go for weekend, please make sure to be in by atleast 8:00 PM, else may be little challenging to get the table.

Had my nephews engagement party here tonight. Best night ever. The service, the food, the cleanliness, everything was just perfect. I would like to thank you guys for making it a memorial night🥂keep up the good service. 🙏

Strictly followed Covid protocol and rooms are very clean. They served breakfast in room, it was tasteful. I feel they are very much care about their guest. Good.

We visited AIDA to have a good lunch, but what we got was a really disappointing overall experience. ❌ Poor Customer Service ❌ Horrible Fish Curry Meals We ordered Potato Wedges as a starter and Fish Curry Meals as main course. We clearly mentioned to the staff that we need the Main course only after the starter is finished. There wasn't any rush and they had very few customers at the time. They weren't even listening to a customer. They served the main course right after they served the starter. The table didn't have any space left because of this act. It was like they wanted to get things done and be free from serving. Very poor customer service is what we've experienced there. The starter was just okay, and the fish curry meal was horrible, it tasted very bad. We left without finishing the lunch. Please train the staff to respect a customer's preference and tell them to listen to the customer. Show the same interest you're putting in increasing the rate of dishes in actually preparing a tastier quality food.

Went here just for lunch so my review is for the restaurant. Clean and spacious. Good food. Service is a bit slow. Good selection for global food. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.
