We booked a cottage after paying Rs 1,800. We could occupy it 75 minutes after the check-in time of noon because it had not been cleaned. Once inside, we discovered the place was badly maintained: sofa upholstery had been torn by mice; a sofa arm was on the verge of breaking off; and the wooden frame for the mosquito net had tilted dangerously on one side. The toilet-cum-bath was not exactly clean, snails walked in the wash basin and on the walls. There is no dedicated kitchen for the occupants; one has to pre-order food. The cottages are away from where the suites and rooms are located. The overworked staff were helpful, though.

Though we didn't stay here the cottages looks really good. Garden is beautiful. We stayed in Gandhi nilaya where we get to see the full hill view. In Nehru nilaya no view is available. But the surrounding park and garden is nice. It gets very cold due to greenery. But very fresh atmosphere.

Please don't go with high expectations, cottage category rooms are large but not well maintained. Poor maintenance of furniture and other facilities in room. Staff is helping and courteous. You need to place dinner order in advance, usually before 7 PM and it will be served to you at any time you asked for it.

We could occupy our cottage 75 minutes after the check-in time of noon because it had not been cleaned. The lady cleaning the room was on the phone as she worked. Once inside, we discovered the place was badly maintained: sofa upholstery had been torn by mice; a sofa arm was on the verge of breaking off; and the wooden frame for the mosquito net had tilted dangerously on one side. The toilet-cum-bath was not exactly clean, snails walked in the washbasin and on the walls. I am not sure the bed sheets and pillow covers had been changed. There is no dedicated kitchen for the occupants; one has to pre-order food. The cottages are away from where the suites and rooms are located. The overworked staff were helpful, though. I thought I had wasted Rs 1,800 by booking the place

This is the top point in Nandi Hills. The building was built originally in 1800s Rooms are small and from the nearest parking (which is behind the building between the restaurant and Gandhi Nilaya gate) you have to climb about one floor. But this one requires less climbing of stairs to get to the room There are beautiful gardens all around

We 5 couples, all senior citizens visited Nandi hills and stayed in Nehru Nilaya in Feb last week. We stayed there in Feb 20 and I found that now the rooms and bathrooms are renovated and look very nice. The tiffin and service at restaurant was good. One Sri Ramesh from KSTDC was very helpful and friendly with us. One Sri Praveen was very co-operative. Totally our stay was pleasurable because of staff, food and accommodation. from R G Sali

Only the location is the plus point of this place... Rooms r average. There s no room service. The food available there also is pathetic. Even Maggie serve in mayura hotel on the hil top is ruined. Don't know how someone can spoil Maggie.. the resturant closes at 9pm. Water sold on the hill also is a scam. They told plastic s banned so no bisleri water. .. but they r selling plastic bottle 500-700 ml filled from water cans for 50 rupees. It's the view, the climate that's sustaining this place

Sir Mark Cubbun , Commisioner of Mysore state used this property as summer stay. After SAARC summit in 1986 it was named as Nehru Nilaya

I've visited Nandi hills on numerous occasions and only recently stumbled upon this hotel. Nehru Nilaya is an old colonial mansion and it really takes you back in time. Stayed in the suite. The room was enormous and grand - four poster bed, huge bathroom, separate sitting area. Nandi hills at night is a totally different experience. You can see the the whole of Bangalore spread out below like a jewelled city. The only drawback, if anything, is that the canteen has a limited menu. The food is decent and the staff are very nice.

I stayed here solo for one night in a deluxe room. The staffs, food and hospitality were very nice. If you want to enjoy Nandi hills and want to know the rich history behind the Nandi hills and want to enjoy the scenary of the sunrise, sunset and night scenary, you need to stay one night and Nehuru nilaya will be a good fit due to its price and a peace environment.

Won't match a private resort, but was pleasantly surprised by professionalism of staff. Room was clean, could use better fitments instead of rusted washroom sink, missing door locks etc. Clean and comfy, and okay for short stay. Food is a big sore point, and would be better if some private reputed vendors are allowed to open shop. The contract shops are fleecing people charging 25% or more above MRP on packaged drinks and snacks.

Good place to be for a day away from city. Nehru nilayam cottages were neat, decent and room service was available. Food made in there kitchen is served only at room. Geyser was working. Overall it was good.

The place is very quiet. The place in under renovation. It is being painted currently so there is smell around. Room facilities are below average. TV does not work. No towels provided. No wi-fi. Only thing you will get is soap & shampoo in washroom. Very expensive on weekends. The main attraction is the beautiful sunrise. In one day you can easily cover everything.
