Disappointed...  Nasty.. The hotel sunray asked me to deposite money for superior rooms well in advance. I did as same.. But when I arrived to the place what they showed me a family room which we were not agreed to.. Cheaper rooms not for the valve I deposited.. Then I asked and show them the agreement.. The staff unable to give me any superior rooms since they all booked by another guests.. In the rooms TV's are out of order Phones are out of order.. The bedsheets were not provided..but they provided some after I requested that also I can see some holes.. There is only 1 person available for entire hotel for service.. And he is a hard working person. I had to  run up and down to find him due to the rooms phones are not working. No bathrooms accessories like tooth brushes or any paste.. Management very cheap couldn't cooperate with them.. After I received the final bill.. They have added some service charge.. Which we not agreed to.. And they didn't change the bill amount although  they gave us family rooms instead of superior rooms. But keeping so many nasty thing from their side still there are disturbing me by texting with bad expressions to pay the whole bill for the rooms which didn't provide us. Its really disappointing.. Not recommend at all for a holiday...

It was a very bad experience throughout the stay from checking in to Checking out. It doesn't value for money. Very low standards in all aspects such as Room,Services,food,pool room television has no connections, even the management doesn't know basics of hospitality systems and way of doing it. They keep pushing guests to do this and that like cancelling the bookings. Do not recommend at all this place.

My husband and I stayed here last week for 3 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This hotel feels tucked away and a true retreat from the busy streets outside. We had a suite which was very comfortable. We had a well stocked mini bar and plenty of glasses, tea and coffee machine, very large comfortable bed and very nice pillows. We had a problem with noise on arrival as there were builders on the roof. The staff were very swift to offer other room options and as we decided not to move we were given a bottle of champagne which was very kind. We dined in their restaurant and had a super evening of delicious food and a good chat with the isomerism who was fun! The reception area in Hotel 41 is also the lounge/bar and it’s very comfortable and cosy. Drinks and snacks are always available and honestly we couldn’t fault our stay. Staff are very friendly and polite and we are looking forward to coming back. « less

Hotel sunray should be avoided at all costs. The rooms are not clean and smell of dampness. The restaurant food is sub standard and cold. I had to rid my room of roaches and put up with loud noises at night from the lobby staff. The list goes on... When I decided enough was enough and it was time to leave the owner started a fight with me in the lobby over payment for the remaining night. Overall a terrible place to stay. You're better off sleeping on the streets of Kandy than wasting your money here. You have been warned

Rooms are pretty small and packed with beds, PEO TV does not work, Foods expensive. Entrence road also does not give plesent idea. But ample of rooms are there standards and the service is very poor. Close By Kandy toothrealic temple. Try to make your service level improve and then consider the value.

The rating is not about the quality of the hotel - it's about the club music that is pounding driving House Club all evening on a Tuesday night. This owner is completely disrespectful to guests, neighbors and guests of surrounding hotels. It's open air and it can be heard for blocks. I need to get up at 4:00 for transportation. If you need to sleep, to catch an early train or drive back to Colombo for a flight, your not going to sleep. Not here! I noticed from other reviews the owner threatens anyone writing a poor review. Instead, i would suggest he stop making stupid decisions, like turning a neighborhood into a night club mid week, and start making decisions to improve the quality of facilities and services to provide a higher quality experience.

Took my mum as a surprise for her birthday for 2 nights and was absolutely blown away at the level of service both for the rooms side and restaurant. Multiple staff remembered and wished her a happy birthday, and we were personally greeted each time. We ended up eating in the restaurant for dinner both nights as the food was so good, as well as the atmosphere. Breakfast was amazing as well. The room was large and comfortable (no. 1), and the balcony was perfect to sit and look at the water even though it was a little chilly! Would 100% recommend and come again.

The staff was amazing. Always accommodating all of our needs. Great truly sri lankan food even for breakfast! I would definitely stay here again and it was a pleasure meeting Seelan who more or less runs the place. Great place, great food, great pub and even monkeys at the pool!

I invited some of my friends for a dinner here. Even my friend doesn't recommend this place I selected this because of some reviews. But honestly this place disappointed me in maun ways. From the security of entrance to leaving after the bill. 15% tax I paid at end of the dinner totally worthless. Doesn't recommend this place to anyone who wants to give a treat to friend. I'm totally disappointed with their behavior and attitude

Unrecommended Unsatisfying Place For Customers. There is no one responsible to talk about a problem there, there are only workers, because when there is a problem, the owner hides like a thief, i request the customers not to go to this place from now on.

Firstly, this place is considerably far from the Temple of the Tooth, KCC, market and pretty much everything. The reason we booked the place was due to being a moderate budget and the availability of a nice pool. On the day we arrived a person was picking some leaves out of a pool that looked like green soup. We could not use it the first day we were there and the water looked even worse the second day. We made our booking on the 17th of June (Friday) for our stay on the 18th of June. It seemed as if the pool had not been cleaned in ages. The tables were dusty and overall the place needed some major upkeep. It's understandable that there aren't many tourists/locals staying at hotels these days due to the crisis in the country, however, basic hotel maintenance is a must in my opinion. The only good thing about the place is the staff. Mr Sri and Mr Rashan. Both are extremely kind and helpful people and were attentive to us throughout our stay. Food is good and alcohol is cheap. Parking is also available. However, not recommended these days as we spent so much money on taxis to get to different places as this place is far away from the center. They reduced 2000lkr from our price since the pool was not clean and definitely not usable. Overall, it was an ok stay for the price definitely worth. But we most likely won't visit the place again. Had a fabulous time in the hotel. The room was very nice, clean and tidy. Room boy Seelan guided us and provide lot of information about the area and the attractions. We haven’t had food at the hotel. But the service was great! We will come back on our next visit to Kandy and recommend the hotel to anyone.

I want to say thank you to Seelan for such hospitality. very nice service. very kind and helpful people we arrived late in the evening and people fed us dinner even half an hour after the bar closed. We also swam in the pool and had a great time. Seelan also showed us how to properly eat papaya with avocado and helped us peel the coconut. The rooms are in excellent condition, in one word I give the maximum rating to the staff and the entire hotel. I can confidently recommend the Sunray Hotel. valentine Russia. Saint Petersburg

Great host! Mr. Seelan made sure that we lacked nothing. We had a nice room with a view of the pool. There was also a café where we could have a drink and a chef who was also willing to prepare dishes off the menu. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Kandy

I was 2 Nights at Sunrays Hostel and I had an amazing Time. Seelen and Tasun the Host is really kind and good. You have great food here and also a Pool. The Rooms are clean and the Price is fair. Thank you for this Time Seelen.

Really enjoyed my night at Hotel Sunray and the Sizzle Sports Bar! The location was ideal, very close to a lot of key spots in Kandy including the Temple of the Tooth and several smaller local restaurants. The food on site was delicious and cooked fresh which was really appreciated! Overall, the price was very reasonable. We even got a free room upgrade! Seelan and the other staff were incredibly friendly and helpful for the entirety of our stay!

Bad experience ever in kandy. Worst service from the entrance to exit. Even security guy doesn’t have discipline. He calls us like we beggars who come to eat free. Doesn’t really recommend this place to anyone who’s coming away from kandy or near the kandy.

This was the very poor experience I ever had, owner is very cunning, does not come to answer the issues arise with bill at last. Not good for family, They maintain PUB and ask us to get meal at PUB with drunken people, swimming pool is not clean enough, I will not recommend this place for family with kids.

Often visits the Sizzle Sports Pub located here.Friendly staff and a chilling environment.Do not miss out the Saturday music night if you are visiting. Two pool tables are also available.either you can play in public shared table or you can get the private room.Don't worry about parking as plenty of parking space available in hotel.

Group of 5 of us came and we had a great time, only made better by Indi and all the staff! Had two rooms overlooking the pool with a table for us to hang out at night, Sizzle Sports Bar was good too and we spent plenty of time in there! Some good food on the menu and a huge choice of drinks

Super clean and new rooms, great breakfast, friendly staff, and the common areas are beautiful. Would definitely stay again, and highly recommend this place. It is a bit off the main Street and such, but nothing a taxi couldn't fix.

My wife and I had two great nights here. Super cute place and the staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Perry. Breakfast was included for free, and it was excellent, not just a continental breakfast, but great omelettes and coffee. And they provided a ride to/from the ferry. Only downside was low shower pressure.

This is a great place to stay. ....very helpful staff delicious food. ...me and my family stayed one night and around 2p.m we stayed at the hotel because my family love this site. ..we are coming again this month for two days with another family too because I just recommended this hotel ...hope to have a lovely weekend. ... It's a magnificent place to stay and I was one of the lucky once to experience their magical night at sizzlers pub with excellent food and cocktails. It was an unforgettable night. Live band was great. Big screen with live sports and very friendly staff makes it complete. I would recommend everyone who visits kandy to have this magical experience. You will enjoy like hell. Keep it up guys....
