👍👍 Best place me and my partner (UK) ate in Kandy! Delicious home cooked Sri Lankan food. We had breakfast and dinner here. Portion sizes are spot on and everything is great value. Husband and wife cooking out of their home, it’s a genuine experience. Highly recommend. People often mention restaurant, family, curry, local, Kandy, cooked, good, home, small, great,

The place is being run by husband and wife. No other staff. A small place maximum 16 people can be accommodated. Must give time to prepare your order. As those are not pre prepared. Otherwise place your confirmed order with an advance. Foods are not that tasty We had rice and Curry for dinner. Took nearly 1 hr to prepare. Prices are bit high for locals. See my photo for menu card

I loved everything: the food, the authentic interior and the sweetest and most hospitable store owner. 10/10! :)

Cute little restaurant with local Sri Lankan food. The service was nice and everything was fresh and yummi. We were able to choose the spice level.

Delicious freshly made food at a great price! The perfect option in Kandy for anyone looking for a good, fresh, tasty meal at a low end budget price. Set within a colourful, quirky room, this family run restaurant is an extension on the side of their actual home. All food is cooked from fresh in their own kitchen and it's full of packed full of flavour, well presented and great value for money. We opted for the vegetable noodles with a bit of spice and 3 different fresh fruit juices. All were really good! I have a feeling we will be going back again soon to try a few other dishes from the menu...

One of the most recommended restaurants around Kandy, very local but cozy and with personality. Excellent mango Lassi and tasty local curry. Their menu prices are very reasonable and there's a homy feeling to this place run by their attentive owners.

Great family run restaurant. The vegetarian 4 curry and rice was delicious and the fruit juices tasty. I loved looking at the money collection while we waited for our food (given it's a small family restaurant, it's worth going earlier to get your order in before the rush).

Located in a quiet corner of Kandy, this family owned restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and supper. They’re a very nice family, the prices are cheap and the food excellent. The owner is also an artisan, who makes and sells very intricate decorative wooden masks, statues and other things.

I had Kottu and orange juice for lunch. T It was well cooked with fresh spices and the juice was so refreshing. The lady asked if I like spicy and made it accordingly. Very big portion and good service.

Best place in this area. It's a local restaurant in a touristic world. The food is good and cheaper than in the restaurants nearby. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic. The family is cooking by themselves. We came here 3 times today :)

A little hard to find and off the beaten track, but worth the effort. Food was freshly made and tasted lovely. We had the 3 veg curry and veg kottu (koththu) Nice and quiet, understood what we wanted.

An authentic Sri Lankan restaurant! It was such an experience to try it out. The restaurant is run by a very nice family. They have just 4-5 tables and the food is freshly cooked by the husband, while the wife helps with the service. It took approx. 45 mins to get our food, but the wait was worth it!

Very small portions, mediocre food, high price (kotthu is 3-4x more expensive than normal, even for a touristy place), slow service. Much better and cheaper food is available closer to the town centre. We ordered two portions of kotthu, they combined them into one dish, which was nowhere near enough food for two people - both of us were hungry after finishing and had to go and find somewhere else to eat.

We came here as we saw that it was highly rated. The food took about 1.5 hours to arrive. Food was also below average, and a lot on the salty side. They cook per order so it took a really long time and if you’re traveling with a group or if there are many patrons in the restaurant, they get easily overwhelmed. I highly do not recommend this place.

Excellent chicken curry with 4 other delicious vegetable curries. The food was made fresh and delivered to our table hot. Very authentic home cooked meal and reasonable prices especially for the quality.

One of the best local food that we tried during our trip, and at an affordable price. It is run by a family, service was perfect. I would repeat 100% and I would recommend to anyone.

Small and simple restaurant very close to the OZO Kandy restaurant. Limited menu but the food is very good, tasty & reasonably priced. No alcoholic drinks on sale. Check out currency display in the window.

Best place I ate in Kandy! Amazing veggie/vegan options. Mix curry plate all freshly made so takes a bit of time but worth the wait. Very good value for money! Generous portions too.

This is literally a lady's front yard. It's small and it's not beautiful. BUT! The food is the best we ate in Sri Lanka. The Kottu and the curry were seamless. Highly recommended!

Basic family run restaurant serving delicious home cooked food at very reasonable price. Would highly recommend if you are in the area. Do not be put off by the basic decor.

A restaurant run by a local family. The host is very sweet. They have an English menu, with some local dishes like kothu, curry, fried rice and noodles. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was empty. I liked the money bills they glued on the window. The decor was simple, but colorful and comfortable. When I ordered my kothu with egg, the host asked me if I like spicy food. I said 'Yes, I do'. My wife ordered the curry with rice and chicken. After more than one hour of waiting, our food arrived (some more guests arrived in the meantime). My kothu was well prepared but very bland. I'm afraid my preference for spicy food ended up in reverse: there were no spices in it at all! My wife's curry was much better, spices on point, and good quality food. While we were waiting for the food, I saw a white bodied creature climb the roof in the next room. It had a long tail of maybe 20 cm. Was it a rat? It definitely was not a mouse, cat or lizard. All in all three stars because of the long wait time and the bland kothu.

Absolutely delicious food and the best lassies you'll have in Sri Lanka. It's a tiny little cafe, very basic vibe, essentially an extension of the woman's house. She is very sweet and quick to serve.

Unfortunately I couldn't eat the rice and curry as it was way too hot. I specifically asked for "not spicy" and it was one of the hottest ones I tried in two weeks in Sri Lanka. :(

Our best lunch in Sri Lanka! Appearances are really deceptive! So if you are in Kandy please visit this place for lunch or dinner. The food is freshly cooked and extremely tasty. We were lucky to enjoy a wonderful lunch on 5th Jan 2021. Also stop to buy authentic Sri Lankan handicrafts as the owner is an artist!

If you're looking for a quirky family restaurant -- literally the extension of a family home -- with freshly prepared food and a friendly environment, look no further. The small menu suits the small dining area; a cozy space adorned with murals, black velvet paintings, and a wall of foreign bank notes. The food is spicy, so be fairly warned or be clear about your tolerance. I would recommend No Name to anyone who likes authenticity & eccentricity - a hidden gem in Kandy and a great place to spend your time/money.

Without any doubt, this is the nicest place I have been in Sri Lanka. A small familiar restaurant. They cook everything at the moment (so you will likely have to wait a little bit..... but it is really worth it!) The food is excellent and personal service/ staff is the kindest you will find!

We were staying across the road at the Ozo Hotel but only eating breakfast there. This No-name restaurant served great local food at very reasonable prices. Ate there both evenings. Loved the chicken koththu and the chicken and four vegetables curry.

Lovely home cooked Sri Lankan food in family run restaurant. Don’t be out off by the exterior appearance, we were so glad we visited. Would highly recommend visiting

🫤 To start with there is not enough parking space available. The road leading up to the restaurant is also very narrow. Barely two vehicles can cross. So if you were to come here during busy hours you'll find it difficult to park your vehicle. We literally had to wait about 20 minutes to park our car....
