Fabulous view and beautiful location. Room was very big, clean and great facilities. It's a heritage bungalow with a very homely feel. The staff was polite. But everyday the same breakfast was served, no variety so there is a big scope of improvement for the food. So we had all the meals outside. We were there for 3 nights.

One of the best my accomodations on Sri Lanka. It place is from 1,5 km to main road and about 5 km to centre of Kandy, but it's really amazing hotel, colonial villa style. Beautiful landscape and view at the city, exactly, part of the city. Owners and staff were very hospitable and helpful. There was some confusion with my reservation and Mr Upali, offered me discount and one free breakfast, it was my first experience like this during my Sri Lanka's trip. I can highly recommend the Richmond house for visiting.

Very nice place that received a makeover recently. Big welcome hall where you will receive a welcome drink from one of the friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are big and have a balcony from where you can nearly see the city of Kandy. Everything was very clean and we thought it to be very good value for money. The even offer in room dinning if you wish. Go here if you‘re staying in Kandy.

Beautiful, quiet hotel. Far enough away from the bustle of Kandy, but a quick ride to town and the Botanical Gardens. The staff is excellent, very helpful and accommodating. Our room was beautiful and spacious with a balcony overlooking the valley.

The Richmond House Kandy is a charming colonial guesthouse located in the heart of Kandy, Sri Lanka. The property is adorned with beautiful antique furniture, colonial-style decorations, and lush greenery. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable with modern amenities such as wifi, air conditioning, and hot water. The guesthouse offers a lovely restaurant serving delicious Sri Lankan and western cuisine. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and eager to make your stay enjoyable. The location is perfect for exploring Kandy's many attractions such as the Temple of Tooth Relic, the Kandy Lake, and the Udawatta Kele Sanctuary. Overall, The Richmond House Kandy is an excellent choice for travelers looking for a comfortable and charming stay in Kandy.

Its a good, quiet, friendly hotel. And was perfect for a couple of days of relaxation between trips. Its located on a small hill with a nice view point. Most of the drivers know where it is.

Friendly staff. Rooms are good and clean. We stay for 2 nights. Can view whole kandy city at night. That is fantastic scenery. Only thing is there is no variety in food. We had to take same menu on 2 days.

The room isn't too bad, the view is nice and the bed smells a bit moldy. It feels like this once was an amazing place, and could be still, if you didn't feel like they tried ripping you off at every chance (double check your bill!) Breakfast is quite meagerly done, even if they try to give you options, and no food facilities at night nearby anywhere. Good thing they have a tuktuk for a fixed price to the city centre, but keep in mind it's difficult to find for most tuktuk drivers. Owners don't act like they try to make you at home, more like you're a money cow. For me personally, the warmth and hospitality is really important, so I didn't like this place so much.

Accessibility is not great.it is a bit far from Kandy town. The narrow road leading up to the hotel made it impossible for our van to get there after dark. The food served was one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Rooms are great too. Please consider the distance from Kandy town before booking ..
