I
stayed
at
Kings
Pavillion,
a
boutique
hotel
in
Kandy
in
April
'21
as
part
of
a
mandatory
24
hour
quarantine
when
I
visited
my
family.
They
were
one
of
two
hotels
in
Kandy
approved
by
the
Sri
Lanka
Tourist
Board
as
meeting
or
exceeding
the
COVID-19
safety
protocols.
I
arranged
for
their
transport
to
pick
me
up
at
the
airport
at
2.30am.
The
driver
was
waiting
for
me
and
had
completed
all
arrangements
with
the
health
authorities
to
allow
me
to
leave
hassle-free.
The
hotel
has
several
spacious
chalets
in
addition
to
rooms.
Even
at
4.30am,
the
staff
was
gracious,
friendly
and
welcoming.
Anticipating
that
I
might
be
hungry,
they
arranged
a
welcoming
snack
and
a
pot
of
hot
tea.
This
is
true
Sri
Lankan
hospitality!
The
meals
were
delicious
and
filling
with
a
variety
of
Sri
Lankan
and
western
dishes.
The
rooms
were
large,
airey
and
comfortable.
The
manager,
Hirantha
and
his
staff
made
sure
that
my
stay
was
comfortable
as
I
waited
to
clear
COVID-19
testing.
When
I
returned
to
Sri
Lanka
in
December,
my
family
and
I
went
over
for
dinner.
Again,
the
service
and
meal
was
above
expectations.
I
definitely
recommend
Kings
Pavillion
as
the
place
to
stay
when
visiting
Kandy
and
Sri
Lanka.
