We loved our stay in Kandy at Mount Haven homestay a lot. The house belongs to Dr. Nimal's family, Dr. Nimal and his wife are very friendly and helpful, they will provide you with the recommendations what to see in Kandy and where to eat, also help to organize tuktuk rides. The rooms are clean and very spacious, the view from the terrace / balkony is fantastic, when there are no clouds you will be able to see the Mountain Chain called the Knuckles. The breakfast served was delicious and we were provided with the unlimited amount of good tea. Dr. Nimal's wife cooked for breakfast the dishes that are traditional on Sri Lanka for the morning after Christmas, that was very nice. The place is located a bit distanced from the center of Kandy, up in the hills, the best way to get there is to take a tuktuk, from the train station it will take you around 15 minutes to get to the homestay. Highly recommended for a stay in Kandy.

We stayed two nights at Mount Haven and loved it. The room was bright and airy and the fan provided adequate cooling for the main heat of the day. The setting is stunning, with brilliant views over the valley, one of the best views in the city. There also beautiful gardens to sit in and a very friendly dog, Bella. While you can certainly walk into the city centre, very kindly the hosts Dr. Nimal and Lanka will organise any transport or city tours that you require. The main selling point though are the hosts. It makes a world of difference, particularly for us when we travelled as there were national difficulties with fuel and infrastructure. I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Kandy, to be made to feel at home and remember this part of your holiday fondly

Really great place to stay, little outside of the city (the peace and quiet are great!) but only 200rs in a tuk tuk. Hosts are brilliant, fascinating characters and well worth spending some time talking to them. Room was great, roomy and with a fan. Bathroom was excellent with a hot, powerful shower. Good wifi. Breakfast was excellent. Arranged a city tour for us which was superb. Highly recommended!

Great stay, very nice people. They also helped me when I forget my charger. They brought it to me when I was back in Negombo. 👍👍👍😀

Single best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Location was beautiful with view of hills. The room (and the whole house) is spacious and so well decorated. Hosts Lanka and Nimal were phenomenally warm, friendly, and helpful. Lanka says that her son asked her how they get such good reviews and she explained it's because they open their hearts to their guests. We agree.
