Absolutely terrible place. I booked this on Airbnb and had to come here to leave the pictures because I wouldn't want anyone to step into here. How this place has even one positive review is beyond me... first off the whole building from the moment you step in smells like bug spray, seems they got some serious bug issues. Once I made it in the room it looked terrible, as if the sheets and pillows had never been cleaned. The pillows smelled so bad, you can smell them just standing over them. Needless to say, I walked out immediately and went to the Radisson for a few nights... much better experience. Stay away!

Really comfortable hotel for very cheap price. Bathroom comes with a large bath tub. Hot water perfect. The A/C made a small noice but work well. Will definitely stay in here next time!

If anyone goes here, call before you go and confirm about the rates, meals and whether the restaurant is open. The pictures show a heaven but the reality is bit different. Thanks !

This is the one of the best place to stay for a family in the city. Rooms are comfortable and luxurious place. We stayed 2 nights. They are very helpful, friendly and hospitality specially Tharindu. Their restaurant provides very tasty foods. At the top of the restaurant we can enjoy the beautiful surrounding. It is just 1km away from the Temple Of The Tooth relic. We had a nice time there and wish to visit once again.

Half decent place. Although I feel that the place is a bit run down now unfortunately. The linen looked as if it hadn't been laundered, and a few other minor niggles. Staff is helpful and friendly. Nice view from the rooftop.

Won't recommend this place, Elevator/lift is switched off everyday after 8PM till morning 8AM & you have to walk 3 floors up & while they simply say NO POWER. Also hotel doesn't provide WiFi even though we can see the wifi signals, they simply deny. Rooms were also not as described. Linen was not in a very good condition (smelling), might be because of Covid they don't have many tourist & linen is stored somewhere. Over all not recommend.

Great hotel, they upgraded us to a larger room before we arrived as it was available, great food and restaurant, friendly staff, room itself less new than the pictures appear but still good. Had everything we needed for our stay in kandy. We also did two tours with Nadith from the sheets in reception and it was great! Very informative and felt safe with reasonable price. Would recommend !

Checked in for a night when I wasn’t feeling well and it was the best decision. Great staff - Kasun was very accommodating and helpful. Lovely modern rooms and an amazing hot shower with air con. Breakfast good value for money also 😊

I’m really disappointed about the hotel..I never recommend it..is a nightmare… I really disappointed with the environment and service. in one hand, it was my fault without checking hotel ratings/ reviewer comments/recommendations and just looking at the picture posted on the net to book the hotel. The whole trip was crewed up with this hotel and if I had changed to change hotel, I would definitely I would do that. but it was too late when I reached to the hotel and there is no time to change the hotel. please don't consider those pictures whenever you want to book the hotel. I don't think this hotel will never listen to customer responses and change to make a better hotel( as I see from comments, the same experience i got from whoever has put a true comment in this- very very bad and never want to stay like this hotel ) . i am just posting this information as it may help for someone trying to book the hotel by looking at the pictures. 1. Service - very very bad, except team who serve dinner and one who was there to collect money, all other service are very bad even less that we called it petti kade. one guy who serve breakfast, it was looked like we were trying to take food without money. even I could better services from `those kades. 2. very small room and even there was no proper chairs to sit and take a rest, very bad condition in room and no water to drink, i had to bring water better from outside. 3. dinner was served with better food and more than expected - this is the only positive thing i could see. 4. there is no lift to go from 3 floors to dining area, there is no sink to wash our hand on the dinner area to take food and we have to use the toilet, this was disgusting. 5. i didn't see the rating before i book the hotel ( i was so excited to see the environment which was shown in the picture only ) , this hotel doesn't deserve even 2 starts, if I saw it was two starts, for sure I will not book. I gave my number to the hotel representative, if management needs it, they can call me and get feedback directly from me. never ever recommend this hotel to any family.

Booked the Deluxe Room for one night. Everything was clean and room was spacious. We were told that the rooms on the upper floors are generally the better ones. For the cheap price very good. Location is good only 10 min from the Railway. You can also walk to the city or malls takes around 15 to 20minutes. For a short Stay in the city the hotel is perfect.

My wife and myself booked this hotel using booking.com. However, soon after we checked in, we cancelled our booking and chose a different hotel. As a result, booking.com won't let us write a review on their platform (since we didn't stay at the hotel). The hotel is on top of a commercial building. It's hard to realize that there might be a hotel reception tucked inside at the back of the ground floor, accessible via a narrow pathway. Upon first look at the reception and the staff, it looked no more than a 2 star hotel. Upon finishing our paperwork, we were led to the elevator, which was quite dirty. Once reaching the 3rd floor, we had to climb a set of stairs for half a floor to reach our room. The size of the room as well as the view from the room was as shown in the pictures. However, the room had an odd smell that seemed to have been from being locked up for long. The room didn't have any toiletries or towels. Worst of it all was that the divan placed in front of the bed had several black/brown stains. The bed sheet itself had a brownish tinge to it. The hotel room door wouldn't shut, but remain open unless you locked it. Seeing the room, we decided to cancel our booking and choose a different hotel. The good thing was that the hotel employees were compliant with our request to cancel. The only reason I gave a 2 star instead of a 1 star is because of this, also because they claim to have a restaurant that has amazing views (which I was unable to visit since it was closed that day). Also this gets a 2 star since I guess you get what you pay for, since the price was quite cheap.

When I went to Kandy for my business I chose this kandy city say hotel as my accommodation. It is clean and tidy. Having a friendly staff made it possible for me to succeed in my work. That is why I recommend this to everyone.

In my personal experience, i can highly recommend this place to anyone who need to stay in kandy. It's only 5-10 Min walk for the center of kandy. Including the bus station and railway station. When finding the entrance you have to look carefully for the sign boards because i rotated 2 time around the hotel 😂. It's situated next to the new pronto office you can easily find. I have booked the King room through booking.com for a one night and it costs me only 19$ with breakfast include. The view for that room was very satisfied (mountain view). They got multiple rooms that have very beautiful view. Room is very spacious and clean. Enough towels and shower gels with a clean bathroom. Also they got a roof top that you have to visit it definitely if you staying there. I missed the opportunity to take some photos cause i had to leave earlier. They have a restaurant area with many foods and beverages including shisha. The prices are very reasonable for a time like this. But when using the restaurant, you have to pay the bill separately to the restaurant because the final bill only include the room price. i recommend to call the reception and book the room because you will get a discount from it than booking by booking.com. Overall my experience is very good with the kandy city stay. You can hangout with your loved once and enjoy from here. Also their staff was very kind and helpful. Always tried to do their best. Thank you guys for making my stay a great one. 5/5 ✌️

It was ok for one-night stay. Also, it is very well located and the staff is nice and responsive. However, our room specifically was not very clean so we didn’t feel comfortable but it was ok as we stayed just one day.

Perfect stay from start to finish. The gentleman at reception was genuinely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious for myself.Room, bedding and bathroom clean and comfortable. We stayed here for one night during a train transit. Good rooms. Good view at the rooftop. Highly recommended for a short break amidst a long journey. It's just walking distance to the railway station.

Do not recommend this hotel for a stay. The place is not exactly as the images that they have put. There is no lift. You have to go up by a very small staircase. And its not clean too. Nope for this...

I loved my stay here! The room was super comfortable and clean, the bathroom was beautifully renovated. The view from our room and the rooftop restuarant and deck are spectacular! The food is also very good! It's a nice place if you feel like lounging in and at your hotel. The staff are also SO friendly and made me feel so welcome. I would definitely come back!

Customer service is Not so friendly. Accepted bookings were rejected without informing the customer. Actually what I faced was I book a room on this and confirmed it by giving a call too. Then when I went there the staff told like that due to some renovations there aren't any rooms. If so they have to inform it earlier and why they already accepted the bookings?. Service is not good. Frustrated about their actions.

Hotel is near to the railway station. Convenient. Since these days having power cuts, we had to suffer from that. Hotel did not inform us earlier that they don’t have a generator. And I asked for reduce the rate since they didn’t say that earlier. Bcoz we had to change our plans due to that. They charged full amount. Room was clean and tidy. But there were rats in the ceiling. They are making huge notices, cannot sleep properly.

Rooms , toilet not cleaned after use. Bed sheets , pillow covers very dirty, there were even hair. We were not comfirtable with the facilities and we had to cancel our tour. Not reccomend for any one, specially families and foreigners. Better tourist board check these kind of places frequently because not good for our tourism brand name.

Room was dirty. Tub wasn’t clean there was Floor was beyond filthy. Ashes from previous guest still on nightstand I believe the only thing they did in the room was make the bed and put fresh towels in.
