Recently we held a function at villa shenandoah. I must say the place really gives a calm and quiet vibe. The staff was very supportive and the owners too were helpful. Food deserves a 5 star!! It was delicious. We were give the villa at a reasonable cost for the function. Rooms to were clean and cozy.

The place is very clean and food is good, staff are very kind and nice too, but our room was located in the lobby and above the kitchen, we couldnt sleep all night from people going up and down from lobby to kitchen and we woke up too early because of the noise from all the guests having breakfast. The door was also not locking and they have to fix it while we are in the room. The manager said its our fault to choose this room!!!! I think its our right to have a calm and cosy place in any room of the hotel Mr. Manager. and since its our fault to choose a noisy room, then please put it in the online room classifications as NOISY so people will know and wont book it.

This place is a beautiful small boutique hotel and tranquility haven on the hill just of busy Kandy, with a scenic view overlooking the valley. The host Dinok and crew took great care of us for the 3 days we stayed, and provided exquisite local food with some additional curries off the menu on request. We booked a day extra just to chill there at the pool and enjoy a few more local delicacies. Highly recommended!

This hotel is a 10! Super great deal for the money. The breakfast was Huge and delicious! The rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. All rooms have a fridge, AC, hot water and large bed. The mattress was thick and perfect firmness for both my girlfriend and I. The hotel owner Dinuk and his mother were so nice! The staff were friendly and helped us with everything we needed, especially Mahendren. Everything on their menu was fresh and a good price. The hotel is located high up from the city in a peaceful hill top overlooking mountains and nature. They have four rooms and a gorgeous pool. With so few rooms it feels like you have the place to yourself. We relaxed by the pool most of the day and Mahendren brought us drinks, food and water to the pool or our hotel room. Our room was separated from the main home. It had a patio with a gorgeous view of the mountains. We highly recommend the mango lassi and passion fruit mojito. We met two other couples who all raved about the hotel and commented that it looked even better than the pictures! They only wish they stayed longer LOL. Support locals and stay here. Things to note: You are surrounded by nature so we had a few ants inside the room but they were no bother at all. The outside lights infront of our room atracted insects and could see bats flying by for a night snack. The entire hotel area power shuts off from around 6:30-7:30pm. At first we thought it was a nuisance but it is was the perfect time for star gazing. At about 8am some birds were pecking on the windows. I guess they thought their reflection was another bird, haha. Overall highly recommend staying here.

A tranquile paradise away from the hustle and bustle of Kandy. You are well looked after with the amazing stuff always on hand to assist. The room was lovely with a mezzanine to read our books and look out over the valley. We had an amazing tour of the area and would highly recommend to other travellers!

Our favourite stay during our 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves for our first 2 nights which felt really special. A beautiful pool and the best service from the staff, everyone was so friendly and helpful and we really appreciate it. The staff made our stay what it was - thank you 🙏🏻

Located on a beautiful landscape, not very far from kandy, me and my family had a small stopover. Breakfast was great, my kid loved the traditional cooking. It has few villas, but our stay didn't go as planned. The villas are a bit run down, at least the one we got was having a water heater issue and got transferred to another which tv connection was busted. When travelling with kids these are necessities, and could have been better if they could have addressed on time.

It’s a good place to go for the day , especially to take a break from busy city life of Kandy. Dip in the lovely pool was refreshing, and a sumptuous lunch was served afterwards, Thank you to Sharmini and the rest of the staff.

This place is must if you plan to go to Kandy. Everything was great during our family 5 nights stay in Villa Shenandoah. The owner Dinuk told us the story of the house, organised our trips to some famous places and back to airport, was our guide and made with his team everyting to make our vacation unforgetable. The room was large, clean, comfortable, with stunning mountain view, private toilet and shower. The hotel is located about 10-15 minutes drive from the centre of the city, it is easy to reach it by car or Tuk Tuk. The food at the restaurant was exceptional. There aren't answer "no" for the team - warm milk, butter pasta, sausage - everything was possible under request (not only meniu meals or drinks), room service as well. Separate mention about breakfast is needed - juice, fruits, curd, honey, bread, several choices of the main dish (English or local), cofee or tea, 2 types of jam. You can't imagine how good it was. The swimming pool was clean and large enouth. There are only 4 rooms at the hotel (at 3 separate buildings), so it is never noisy. Mahendran is the best - he was so nice and friendly, especially for our kid. We are very happy with our stay at Villa Shenandoah, strongly recommended for everyone, even if you travel alone or with you family.

Surrounded by lush greenery and overlooking panoramic views of the Hanthana Mountain Range, Villa Shenandoah is a well-appointed accommodation with free Wi-Fi access. Guests can enjoy fresh Sri Lankan meals at the in-house restaurant. This cosy property is located 1.6 km from the Ceylon Tea Museum. It is also 2.7 km away from Kandy Royal Botanical Gardens and within 3 km from Kandy Railway Station. Bandaranaike International Airport is 81 km away. Rooms at Villa Shenandoah are spacious and elegantly furnished. All rooms come with a flat-screen TV, fan and wooden flooring. Guests enjoy beautiful mountain views from all the rooms. Bathrooms are attached and include a hairdryer. The property can arrange for barbeques and hiking activities. You can also enjoy a cup of coffee by the terrace. Last minute gifts can be purchased from the on-site souvenir shop and airport shuttle services can be arranged at a surcharge.

Overall we enjoyed our stay in this retreat, the facilities were built around a house with a lot of history. We stayed in the main house it self but for the full getaway experience they have a number of bungalows that include their own personal dining areas for you to recive your meals. We will consider staying in the future for upto three nights of winding down and resting. Note transport is required to access this hotel. As the town is not within walking distance. -- Pros -- Our host were excellent and went the extra mile to look after us extremely well. The Food was prepared realy well, meals on the menu were priced in dollars from 8 to 20 dollars for a main dish. -- Observations -- Hot water availablility - 30ltr and tank in room so shower limited to 6 minutes before you need to wait for water to get hot again. Shower strength - good water pressure Room Size - Our deluxe room was Extremely large, with high ceiling and a balcony. Hanging space and draws - Some, but very Limited Insects - Small number of Ants in bathroom Daily room cleaning - adequate Sound proofing - none, sounds travel in the house. Was not much of a problem for us as this is a spacious house with the rooms far apart.

A wonderful relaxing retreat. Nicely isolated on top of a hill, with beautiful panoramic views to wake up to. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. The Sri Lankan breakfast is a must to try the local cuisine. Would highly recommend Villa Shenandoah to anyone who wants to be close to Kandy but away from it all.

Private, highest, and awesome place. Friendly butler, and service. Something difficult the arrival, narrow route. I hope the best private dinner with amazing night view... We are waiting...

Excellent place with beautiful rooms, great service and a fantastic driver who is also a guide and a driver. We had several days of day trips curated to meet our needs and budget by the team at the hotel. Really made our trip to Kandy, as originally we hadn't expected to get so much from these couple days of our trip. We stayed in the villa rooms which are part of a separate building to the main (which houses the reception and restaurant). Rooms were very spacious and clean, however visitors must be prepared for some insects and lizards in the bathroom. Breakfast was tasty and very well presented each morning.

We absolutely prefer this over a large hotel as it’s so peaceful. Most of the time we had the pool to ourselves. Just a beautiful, tranquil place to be. The rooms are lovely, large, very clean and comfortable. The staff are so friendly and go over and above to make sure you have everything you need. Having breakfast included is well worth the money. Plus they cater to both Sri Lankan and Western cuisines. I’d happily recommend this place to anyone. We’ll definitely be back time and time again. The views are amazing, the surrounding village is lovely and the walks through the beautiful hills are stunning. A tuk tuk or bus just at the door makes getting in and out of Kandy or to the shops easy. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay a memorable one.
