Excellent food. But beware of dodgy ethics and tourist pricing - I was charged 500 by the owner for a vegetarian buffet and a soft drink. The next day, I went again and the owner was not around. The girl at the counter had to call the owner to ask the price (she didn't have to ask the price for a local customer that was in front of me)...I was asked to pay 600 for exactly the same thing. I had to point out the price discrepancy to bring it back to 500. And 500 is probably already a tourist price - I saw a sign in Sinhalese in the morning saying it was 350. Not that I couldn't pay 600 - its about principle and ethics. I'm not coming here anymore due to ethical concerns.

Honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a while. Authentic, tasty, great portions and very reasonably priced. The staff is great, very friendly service and smiles all around!

One of a best place to have authentic Sri Lankan food in Anurdhapura. Food are very tasty. Service is excellent and friendly staff there. I'm not sure the parking space is sufficient for weekdays.

Loved this place! Best food since I came to Anuradhapura! 😍 They use nelum leaf to serve rice which is an eco friendly "plate" to eat in, which costs them about 5rs per leaf. That says a lot about them when compared to the restaurants that use polythene to wrap food. Food wise, THE BEST! They give plenty of refills and the food is fabulous. Sea fish and fresh water fish curries were amazing. We had breakfast here and from what the manager said, the menu for lunch sounded amazing too.

There was a lady speaking English, and everyone was really nice, it’s a buffet system, delicious food, local atmosphere.

Went there for breakfast, and it was really great. They have a buffet with fish,chicken, and 3 or 4 vegetable options. Food is warm and fresh. We had one chicken and one fish; it cost Rs. 750 for both. They had good service with friendly staff. Highly recommend and will visit again.

Great food. Buffet, served on lotus leaf in basket. Plenty of vegetarian options. Staff friendly, helpful, and speak English. Food good and spicy, pleasant change after too much tourist blandness. Nice ambience, good-looking wooden furniture. I suspect we got the tourist price - 780 rupees for two meals plus large water - but still far better value than tourist places. Restaurant can be easy to miss for visitors, with no English signage, so I've added an exterior photo.

A good place to have breakfast or lunch in Anuradhapura. Food was delicious and served on a lotus leaf. Fair prices as wel. A Clean and calm area near the main road. But I was not quite happy about the way they served the food from buffet. Customer care service should be improved for the locals.

I actually was looking for authentic srilankan food on my first day here in anuradhapura. This one was just by luck as i called the number to ask if they were open. It was answrd by the owner and i am lucky to have landed there for my lunch. For those whom the authenticity matters, this is the place to go for. Absolutely and perfectly cooked to perfection. The spices were like felt so much on the tongue to be so original that one who has a taste for good food, can make out the amount of love and dedication that the meals have been cooked with. By far the best sri lankan meal i have had in my 5 days tour over the sri lanka so far. The owner is a very kind and humble man. This place is strongly recommended for those who want to have a real taste of lanka. Very reasonably priced and a massive spread of varities on the banana leaf. Cheers!

We were in Anuradhapura N was looking for a place to eat N found "Rasa Gadara Restaurent" Wavu malu kiri koss dambala mallum N more dishes. It is buffet but their is a girl who help you serve. She serves you with a beautiful smile. Ravi the owner is also very friendly N helpful. 100% satisfied. With everything. Even though we didn't see the cooking staff Hats off to them as well for cooking so well. Thank you Rassa Gadara.

Yum! Fresh, tasty and authentic! I was immediately greeted by the joyful owner/manager, and he took great care of me. The daal, beets and spicy salad were my favorites. Vegetarian/vegan friendly. Bonus points for being inexpensive and having great service!
