This hotel is situated in Kandy from Kandy city to Peradeniya road, Infront of Kingswood college, Mulgamlola. Customer care is not satisfactory. British council examinations are going on these days days and their quality of customer care can be seen by the parents of students.

A good value for money. I stayed just for accommodation for one night for work purposes. No special view. Just easy access to town. Good hospitality. Rooms ok. Inside a bit dusty looking and not particularly clean. But otherwise ok. Not recommended for leisure. But great for a place to stay overnight for some work the next day.

Unforgettable place to visit again. This is the one of beautiful hotel i have stayed in Kandy. Ms. Himali reservation manager at the hotel arranged everything well and supported us a lot. The day we visited to the hotel first one we met at hotel is security person he was so friendly and welcomed us with a beautiful smile. And then the receptionist and the other staff amazing hospitality and friendly team. Very supportive. Overall I can give 100% marks to this beautiful place.

I had a great time in Kandy while staying at the Royal Kandyan. The room and bathroom were very spacious. There was a balcony overlooking the mountains. And the room was clean and comfortable. However, there could be some improvements with the housekeeping, as the bathroom was not completely clean after it was requested. Also, while the breakfast was very good in the beginning, it was not consistent, until I mentioned it to them. But after that, it was good again. Despite these minor issues, I had a great stay and I highly recommend this hotel.

Don't be deceived by the Google images. Rooms were huge but not clean and badly maintained. Bedsheets were dirty. The bed I slept was sinking in. My husband's room looked like a haunted place. The ceilings were black in colour. The walls too. Luckily only one night we booked. The buffet dinner was good. Staffs were good. Only setback was the poor maintenance of the rooms. Not my go to hotel the next time I'm in Kandy and also will not recommend to anyone.

We are very disappointed with the way Royal Kandyan treated us. It was a terrible service from the very beginning. It appears that the chairs at the front desk are broken. Our room wasn't ready to check in when we were directed to it. With our luggage, we stood patiently for over 10 minutes. So they can prepare our room, we decided to have lunch. Our main reason for choosing this hotel is that they confirmed that all meals, including lunch, are buffets. Once we went to the dining area, we learned that no Buffet served lunch. They wrongly put our names on the dining guest list as half-board, even though we made an advance payment to reserve their best room on a Full board basis. They simply told me it was a communication mistake and that they could only provide a set lunch menu from their so-called Chinese restaurant. We were tired and exhausted. So we agreed to have a set menu. They lead us to their Chinese restaurant along the roadside for lunch. It's nothing but the typical old roadside Chinese restaurant. We were told to choose food from the poster on the wall when we asked about the menu. Soon we decided not to stay here any longer and asked them to cancel our booking. Then only the manager came to us and apologized for what happened there and requested us to stay so that they will correct this by arranging lunch by the poolside or room balcony. We went out. Appreciate that at least they were able to refund the advance as promised.

Excellent place for official work travelers to stay , it’s located at a busy road and convenient location to get your work done. Rooms are very spacious and clean, request for hill view rooms. Staffs are very friendly and always ready to assist with great customer care .

The Royal Kandyan Hotel is an average hotel that falls short of its royal moniker. While there are some positives, there are also a few areas for improvement. One area where the hotel disappoints is the buffet. While there is a variety of food available, the quality and taste do not live up to expectations. However, the restaurant area itself is pleasant, with a lively atmosphere created by DJ music playing in the background. Also the outdoor balcony, the pool table, the carom board are some good features too. There's a bar with many kinds of beverages too. In terms of the view, the hotel doesn't offer much. It lacks the picturesque vistas one would expect from a place in the hills of Kandy. This might be a downside for those seeking a scenic getaway. Pool is quite small but the pool area is well maintained. The service at the hotel is average. While the staff members are polite, they lack the attentiveness and promptness that one would expect from a "royal" establishment. There is room for improvement in terms of delivering exceptional customer service.Front desk and atmosphere is good. Overall, the Royal Kandyan Hotel is decent but not exceptional. It offers various types of food in the buffet, a good restaurant area with DJ music, and an average level of service. However, it falls short of the royal label it carries and lacks the stunning views that one would hope for in a Kandy hotel. There are some souvenir shops or showrooms.

Everything about this is hotel is close to perfect. Management or design of the rooms could have been more better. I would like to specially thank Aashini (Intern) who served us food and took care of us during the meal time. She was super sweet and understanding. We literally enjoyed the way we got treated! I hope she lands a full-time time here. Also the reception intern was caring, I don't know her name. But they are doing a great job! We faced problem with the meals because most of us were vegitarian. But chef tried his best to make meals according to our taste.

Not sure why this place is given 4 star but the experience we had, doesn't even deserve a 2 star rating. The rooms are definitely huge but of no use if basic amenities like AC doesn't work and the bathtub cannot be used. We reached there on 24th Dec, 2023. We understand it must be the most busy day of the year but still it was nothing like a 4 star hotel. The dinner buffet was not upto the mark with no one taking care of empty buffet counters. At the breakfast spread, there was no one at the live counter. Literally some of us guests came together and made egg dishes for ourselves. They really need to work on a lot of things. Bad smell due to damp walls, linen not cleaned well enough, etc. Overall, not at all to our liking. The only good thing about the hotel was its location as it is centrally located in the Kandy Town, otherwise not a single thing that I can appreciate about.

Went for the weekend high tea buffet which was amazing! The selection was really good. The desserts took a special place. Mr. Gayanga was very helpful and managed to share the menu the day before which helped me to share with my family. Enjoyed the buffet!

Went for their Chinese cousin called royal 😂 jasmine. Food is old and below average. They serve old food with smelling. Sea food nasi doesn’t have prawns. Hot butter mushroom taste oily and old.

Our go to hotel in peradeniya road. They have spacious rooms and friendly customer service. And the view is really nice. They hv the pool facility and car parking facility also. The food taste delicious . Had the breakfast buffet recently. Eventhough the spread is small, everything was really good . I loved the dosa. They had an active station too.

If you are looking for a peaceful and satisfied staycation in Kandy this is the place. Tasty food , friendly and helpful staff. Highly reccomended

Stayed for a day, the rooms were great and also private and quiet. The reception was friendly and there was a free carrom table and a pool table. The swimming pool was narrow but long. The 1st floor restaurant had OK food but has a balcony with a great view

Me and my family stayed there for one night since my father had to go to the immigration office early morning! The location is very convenient. Rooms were clean and spacious. Very pleasant and friendly staff! We reserved a triple room and a double room and here I attached some pictures of the triple room. Highly recommended!

This hotel is located in front of Kingswood college and it gives easy access for every important places in Kandy heritage city. However there services is very poor to front desk to kitchen. Rooms are fine but other aspects such as conference halls are poorly served. We was unable to get air-conditioning in our stay in this hotel in to conference hall. They conveniently passes the batton to telling they'll arrange everything yet don't give a thought about the paying customers needs. Also I gave my laundry with instructions to have it in same day evening around 6pm but they delivered it 12.30pm on night. That's very annoying for us and also service us having in diner is very slow. Only thing that can compare to this slow service is sloths. Also we have to keep asking refill our water and whatnot whenever we have our meals. Only thing that is working fast is there lift. Apart from that we are having poor, bad, dishonest, annoying experiences by choosing this hotel. Not recommended for anyone else to use this hotel to stay and still wonder how they manage to get their stars while providing this kind of bad service.

Stayed for 04 nights and it was really a good stay at the hotel. The rooms were spacious and well arranged. The food were delicious and had the chance to select any variety from the menu. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!

Located in prime area. Well maintained rooms, Restaurant and Reception area. Vegetarian food available in buffet and any specific Vegetarian item can be requested also. Courteous and friendly staff members.

Good place. But foods are very bad. Not much verities. It’s not worth for the price. Amd when I book they said charge will be 19500 for FB(week before) But they have charged 21000 when I visit there.

The day i visited is on 29.06.2023. The service was not much satiafied in my point if view. I just visited the hall near by the pool. And the craft shop staff were so friendly and assistive minded. They are respectful

Best place to stay. Prices are so valuable and great service they provide to us. Rooms are very clean and nice. We had beautiful Hanthan View from our room. and They have delicious meal.

It seemed quite nice from the outside and the reception was great, but the rooms were not. Despite their huge size, they were quite dirty, had a bad smell and also the bathroom was really unattended, with hair inside the shower and brown stains all over the place. The staff was polite and the food not bad but not great either.

Royal Kandyan is good place to stay in kandy town area. Staff is very friendly and supportive. Customer service good and hotel is very attractive when visit the lobby. Rooms are clean and carpeted. Beds are very clean. AC is located in near the door and it help to cool and not give fussy feeling. Room is clean and bathroom also clean. So i am highly recommend this place to stay if you need to stay town area.

Hotel is in a high elevation with a nice view. They warmly welcomed us. The staff is so friendly. Food is really great. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner were buffet. There were so many varieties of food and they are fresh. Pool is wide and free to have a bath, but the water is a little cold. We had hot water facilities and bath tubs in rooms.

This is one of the oldest hotels in Kandy. Maintenance is really poor, but rooms are not bad. We had to shift from our initial room to a different floor due to whole floor air conditioner issues. Anyways the hotel staff is really helpful. Always remember to park your vehicles in front of the hotel, don't use their underground car park since you can park easily but when you're trying to come back you will end up slipping your vehicles tires. So be careful.

I am a Make My Trip Holiday Expert myself . I planned this itinerary with my company and their Vendor.. Room meal plan was Half Board with Breakfastn Dinner. We stayed in Kandy for 2 nights ... its an extremely beautiful city and location of this hotel is perfect. The staff welcomed us with Garlands and Lit the Diya for Diwali with my family members and then provided us with piping hot tea and cookies which kept kids of all ages happy in our group. We were having 3 rooms and they were huge and had a good view of the Kandy Mountains in backdrop. The Diwali special dinner we had has been good with decent varieties.. desserts are worth a try... Few things I will suggest is its a older hotel rooms dont feel new ..as family we needed good place and good food with a nice view and this served its purpose. Do consider this hotel as its a great value for money

During last new year season (2021)we visit the place. I donot feel their service is good. We went for the buffet lunch. Unfortunately did not have enough food on serving dishes. They waiting till reminding that some curry were to be replaced.

Attended for a wedding ceremony. The hall was perfect and the food was very delicious. The hall is sufficient for around 150 pax. Seating arrangements were good. Recommended for a event.

A lovely hotel right in the city centre...overlooking railway lines and occasional passing of trains..the rooms are very spacious and with all amenities including good wifi connectivity. The dining facilities are good with live counters with huge spread of dishes. overall a pleasant place to stay.

If you like to stay in a city hotel this is a good option. This place very close town in away but you can avoid busy a environment in a city because it is bit away from a busiest part of kandy city and you have a great view of hanthana mountain range

I went there several times to discuss about a wedding function. There are some disappointments... Yahh like 🌟 saying, yes they ara ok.... Its 50 50....

This hotel went above and beyond my expectations. The hotel staff met every one of my needs and even went beyond what was expected. Even when I was not able to move around due to health reasons, they did the best they could to make me comfortable. The bed were very comfortable and housekeeping came every day to make sure that I had everything I needed. The entire staff was very hospitable. It is right next to many stores and close to the city so everything that you will need and want is very close by. By the end of my trip, the staff had become my friends. The customer care of this hotel is excellent, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who comes to Kandy, Sri Lanka. The only improvements I would suggest for this hotel would be the WiFi and laundry facilities in each floor which would have made the stay better. Overall, a phenomenal experience at this hotel. Thank you to everyone who helped me!

Was part of a group so can't share any information on individual experience. But the service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. Rooms were well maintained and ours offered views of Kingswood College, although obscured. The pool was excellent as well and offered views of the mountains. Meals were tasty, but their tea takes the cake (quite literally, pun very much intended). Recommend to transients and those who hold large gatherings. 🙂

Friendly staff and good clean place near to kandy city. 24 hr front desk, air conditioned rooms, flat screen tv with stellite tv connection, private bath room, free hair dryer and mountain view, private parking for all customers, delicious food, fair price. Attractive architecture with two floor underground parking. Bogambara stadium, peradeniya botanical garden, temple of the sacred tooth relic are around 3 km from the hotel. Hotel facilitate car hire service too. Gift shop available at the lobby. 6 floor building with attractive lift can see the outside while using it.

Location-On main road Ample of parking space. Good Staff behaviour,fast lifts. Food was also good but need more menu. Room size is very good ,bed is very comfortable. They have not provided toothbrush kit. Overall very good stay .

There's nothing "royal" about this hotel. First the person at car park was rude and asking questions of our whereabouts which made us feel like we're being judged. Then front office manager tricked us to pay higher rate than Booking.com confirmation. He was also rude and asked "if you're locals why did you book through Booking.com?". The room they first gave was not housekeeping completed. Then they gave another room. Even for that room they were uncertain whether it was occupied. They first knocked, then unlocked with key. At night, one front office person knocked at door and wanted signature for a reservation confirmation. What a hassle. Room and bathroom were not very well cleaned as well. What a nightmare!

The food is delicious and the waiter Gayan made our dining experience amazing, very kind, attentive and efficient, showing us the place around and explaining all about Sri Lanka history. A really nice experience! totally recommend it!

This hotel is a four star property, located around 1.3 miles from Ceylon Tea Museum. The guests get free parking and Wi-Fi access. There is an on-site restaurant and every room is air-conditioned with full-screen TV. The rooms are spacious with bathtub, balcony and small sitting area. There is a swimming pool and gallery area for display of arts and goods. Staff is quite courteous and in restaurant with buffet there is a live music also, sometimes. It has a full fledged bar. I tried local whiskey and it was good. The international airport is located around 50 miles from the hotel.

Service of the hotel was so good.. The wedding reception was carried out well the help of the staff and the management.. Food was also good. Had a great time🔥

Very nice place to stay. Really friendly service. The experience is worth for the price you’re paying. Very nice and clean bathrooms. Especially the view from the hotel is picturesque. We stayed only one night and we wish if we could more. We had only the breakfast from this hotel. It was amazing experience too. We had a Sri Lankan breakfast. It had the feeling of our own foods.

An excellent stay for three days..Ideal very comfortable and incredibly welcoming. Everything I needed,WiFi, TV with a good range of channels..nice bathroom with endless hot water and a very copious breakfast included in the price; so great value for money. The rooms were extremely spacious and although there was beautiful and traditional art work throughout the hotel the room mostly black and white was a little scarce and would have b enefitted from a little art or colour..There was a shop..a gym a public restaurant a swimming pool I didn't use any of them The manager and staff were excellent..very nice but professional. The hotel is a little way outside Kandy centre on quite a busy road though transport is easy.

The staff were excellent. We had a few complaints about the rooms, however staff sorted them out quickly and with a positive attitude every single time. One thing we loved was how they provide coffee and tea refills, as well as water refills all free. Any situation or thanks was met with an amazing attitude and allowed us to continue to love the experience. The hotel was an overall positive experience.
