Another ancient Buddhist temple with great architectural value. This clearly shows the Indian and Hindu influence on Kandyan architecture. It is situated near the Kandy - Digana road. There is a large Stone Building in the temple ; Thats why it's called Gamaduwa Temple.

Kandy is an old temple belonging to the Yuga...the two oldest buildings here have Hindu influences so its value is very high..but due to recent renovations its ancient value has been damaged a lot..the old roofs have been removed and even Amano plate roofs have been built.. .Also it appears that the custodian does not know the value of the buildings that need to be preserved..It is a pity..

Wonderful Place. Have a history up to Kandian Kingdom era... Build by 'Nayakkar' king 'Keerthi Sri Rajasinha' almost 125 years ago! Highlights the Hindu effects on Buddhist culture in kandian era...

A nice place just a few kilometres away from Kandy. This place offers magnificent views on a building with Hindu architecture. We went there on a Sunday and could not go inside as there was a Sunday school inside. Better to avoid Sundays and Poyadays if you go there.
