A very pleasant experience. It is a place of worship of lord buddha. Situated near Kandy and is able to reach this place within 30 minutes from Kandy City. This place is very calm and quiet. Situated in a mountain top. The road is newly carpeted and is easily accessible. Has a huge car park. We went there on a night time. Has a nice view of the lights below. It should have a very wonderful view in the day time also.

Best place in Kandy to see the surrounding mountain range. Windy and located in a top of a mountain. You can drive, parking available at top. Accesses road is narrow, need to be a experienced driver. During holidays get crowded, specially with buses. Buddhist shrine is there, advice to follow the proper attire. Wheel chair available.

This is a religious place The road was not in good condition , but close to the temple road was good. Leyland bus can be reached to the top of the temple A vehicle park is available with sufficient space No tickets required Comparatively other temples , this place was clean and maintained properly. Washrooms available Wheelchair accessible to the top of the temple . A nice view was there, actually an amazing feeling. Shops were there and you can purchase meals and sweets . A rare sweet ( for us it was found after long period, and only seen at there ) called "නයිස්" was there ( on the way very close to the temple) see pictures 🤪

It is one of the frequently visited place by Buddhist devotees and other tourist as well. Place maintains its holiness and serenity. It is on the top of a cliff or a mountain. A crowed place on Full moon days and few days after full moon days. If anyone wants to avoid traffic on tge way to the temple, avoid going on full moon days and following full moon days. Visitors are required to maintain the holiness and the respect of the place.

Nelligala International Buddhist Center Nelligala International Buddhist Center is a recently constructed Buddhist temple (in year 2015) in Muruthalawa, Kandy. It is located at the top of the Nelligala Mountain. If you travel from Kandy it takes approximately 40 minutes to reach Nelligala (12km from Kandy). This temple is well known and visited by both Buddhists and non-Buddhists. The natural environment is mind soothing. When you enter the site you will definitely get a vibe of entering a palace. The temple is well maintained and it possesses a higher architectural value in its construction design. Gold color Buddha statues are one of the major highlights of the temple which remind the Mahayana Buddhism. How the gold color of the statues blend with the bright sky blue is picturesque. The temple includes holy relics of the Lord Buddha. This might be the best place to sooth the mind. It creates a vibe of peacefulness with the aura of Buddhism. The pilgrims can peacefully continue their religious observations in the spacious temple compound. Pilgrims can reach the top comfortably. They are given many facilities including ample parking and it is wheel chair accessible. This place will be best for a shorter and relaxing drive within Kandy city limits.

Beautiful place to visit if you are interested in modern Buddhist architecture. Nicely built with modern lighting and accessories. Can get pretty crowded on full moon days and special occasions. The access road is well built and carpeted, but can get messy on peak days. Nice view of surrounding area as this is located on a mountain-top. Best times of visit are in the morning or in the evening/night.

Amazing template. Must visit. Can see the entire kandy town. Calm environment. Feels like visiting there twice when you go there for the first time. In the night feels cold. Easy to reach. There is a carpet road to the temple.

Absolutely amazing, Nelligala International buddhist center is one of the beautiful temples I have visited in Sri Lanka. It’s in another level, so peaceful, calm atmosphere. Temple is so relaxing. Worth visiting this temple, you won’t disappoint that’s for sure. Highly recommend going there and get yourself the best experience. Panoramic view is breathtaking from where the stupa is. Giant standing Buddha statues are gorgeous. I will definitely go again and stay little longer there in the temple.

We went here to witness sunrise. It was an amazing view all around. You can see Sri Pada in a distance. And, the sun rising amoing all the mountains around creates a beautiful scenery. The temple too is well maintained and you can reach to the top with any vehi le. Although it was a public holiday, since we went early, there was not much crowd.

Nelligala Buddhist Temple is an incredibly peaceful place, though the road can be a bit challenging. There's a beautiful statue of God Saman at the superb viewpoint, and the temple is well-maintained. You'll find ample parking, and it's free to enter. Despite the road condition, it's cleaner than many other temples. They have washrooms, are wheelchair-accessible to the top, and offer fantastic views. A serene and memorable visit, indeed! 🏞️🛕🚗

A beautiful Buddhist temple located on a mountain top. Four wheelers including busses can go up to the top. The view from the top is amazing during dusk and dawn. Statue of God Saman built on the edge of the mountain cliff is the main attraction. Many people try to flock to this place for photos. But should be mindful whether it can bear the weight of a large crowd. Sri Pada mountain is visible to the top and statue has built parallel to it. Can be suny during in the middle of the day. Highly recommended. Very crowded on holidays. Free parking.

Beautiful temple on top of hill. Have parking space for vehicles. Early Mornig and late evening is best time to visit less crowded and environment is chilling. Only negative thing is two officers with camouflage uniform and carrying fire arms stand mid of the stair gives very unpleasant at the entrance of such a beautiful place. Please ask them to stand side as this is a temple.

Be careful if you are driving uphil with heavy load. If your vehicle does have enough power then it's no problem. I didn't thought much as that was second time I drive there. Then I had to slow down in the middle of steep section that very close to the temple and I couldn't get it going. I had to drop few passengers to get it going. I saw same thing happen to a bus and it was very difficult to go uphill when it's crowded time and stuck in the middle. Other than that roads are carpeted. And temple was quite nice place to see. Day time could be harsh because of sun and when it's afternoon I experienced that mist comes along with the dark.

If you just want to look around, don’t go on Poya day, there is too much crowd in Poya day as many pilgrims come to pray. Would recommend going early morning or evening. We went around noon and it was very hot.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful environment Golden Stone Buddhist Glory The sun service can be seen only at the top of Samanala Kanda. If you come to Nellagala in the morning or evening, the Nelligala International Buddhist Center is as famous as the Temple of the Tooth. The Nelligala sacred area was created in 2014 by conserving a scrub forest. It should be specially mentioned that the forest has been conserved here. This Buddhist heritage is situated in a beautiful environment where the sweet sound of the jungle spreads all around. Hanthana, Hunnasgiri, Andagala, Alagalla, Batalegala, Ambuluwawa, Atigala, Ramasara Kanda, Sri Pada and Pidurutalagala are all located at a height of 700 meters above sea level. It took six years of dedication to build this golden shrine in the middle of the blue mountain range. The statues and designs here are golden in color and the bodhi tree in a large bowl of gold is special. The seventy feet high bubble-shaped pagoda stands out among other creations of gold on a blue background. Another surprise is that the stupa was completed in three months. The hair relics reside in the Sri Sakyasinghe perfume room. The Nelligala International Buddhist Center, which provides relief to the area through the Sri Shakyasinghe Welfare Society and propagates the Dhamma through a magazine called Karma, has been making a great contribution to the era. Daspetiya Mal Pooja, Chaitya Pilgrimage and Poya programs are conducted here with the participation of over 100,000 people. Nelligala is an example to the whole community in collaborating with the Muslim community in the surrounding area. The Subharathi Dharma Hall seen here is also very large. It is certain that the Nelligala International Buddhist Center, which is complete with all the temples, attracted a large number of people in a short period of time due to its conducive environment. It is a great convenience for the pilgrims to be able to travel to the top of the Nelligala Shrine in the village of Kombekaduwa, the founder of the Water Bubble Dhammaratana Thero. One of the best religious places I ever visited. It's relaxes your mind and nicely constructed everything. Only thing that the staff didn't allow me to operate the drone even after they were being okay with signed document. Kind of disappointed on that. Other than that the place is really nice. I wish I could get a drone footage as well.
