Very nice little hotel in a beautiful garden - under new management in 2022 The hotel itself is very nice and we had a big room for us. The garden is big with lots of trees and flowers, some spices and of course cinnamon trees. Compared to our last visit (02/2020) the management and at least part of the staff has changed. Staff friendliness was very good and the new man in charge of the service asked more than once if everything is fine and if we had other wishes. Very attentive service all in all. Meals were very fine and since we were the only guests at that time (12/2022) we really felt like the owners of a beautiful villa. ;-) Still worth improving is the way to the pool which is a bit up the hill from the house.

Loved the place. Such a beautiful and a cool environment with a garden for kids to play. The staff there was also super helpful all speaking English. The swimming pool also was in very good condition with proper maintenance carried out to keep it safe.

Great place to spend a weekend...

The rooms are spacious and feels grand. The atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking. Keeps the property clean and tidy. Amazing bathroom arrangements. Food is served exactly well feels the luxurious touch in to details. Staff is super friendly and helpful. It really felt home in to the vacation. I will definitely recommend sweet cinnamon and it’s very close to the temple of the tooth relic. I will stay here without any doubt for sure.

Our stay at Sweet Cinnamon ( Kandy) in January 2024 was a very pleasant experience for all of us. The ambience, the welcome, by the hotel staff, their ever smiling faces, their helpful attitude, specially of Kumar and Jaanaka,made us feel very much at home. Special mention, is for the food: we appreciate the neatly set up tables, comfortable seating, and a generous spread for breakfast. A few suggestions for improvement: The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful and very well maintained, but an essential addition of a simple curtain to cover the full length transparent glass pane inside the bathroom overlooking the backyard, would improve the privacy and comfort of the guests ( this is an input from me as well as my mother in law). Curtain/blinds on the window facing the walkway in one of our rooms (outside the room to the pool) also needed repair. One of the rooms didn’t have a fan but only AC. The wifi reach can be improved, though as it barely available inside our room. We sorely missed a kettle inside the room, but were supplied by hot water as and when asked. It was very kind and helpful for the elderly especially. Apart from these aspects, it was a lovely stay and we’d love to be back.

We spent two nights at Sweet Cinnamon in Kandy with my family and I must say that it was an amazing experience! The staff is lovely, rooms are clean and spacious, the location is gorgeous in the heart of the forest, and the food is delicious! 🥰 I recommend this place 100%, go with no hesitation. Amazing place where to stay, the house is just gorgeous and very close to Kandy, perfect service, and so kind. We loved to stay 3 days here Thanks to Shanaka and Lawrence always willing to help, and to the 'chef' Kumar ... the food is just great and the breakfast so tasty Sweet Cinnamon is the place where to stay in Kandy

Best place for relaxing your mind

Super family run small hotel with great food and surrounding.

Sweet Cinnamon Restaurant will serve local Sri Lankan dishes and international delights.

My most favorite accommodation and people in Kandy, this is maybe my 20th time here. Love the rooms, love the food, love the stuff, people here exactly what I expect from hotel tourism industry and even more you dreamt of...top boutique place. Great relax at the pool.

A wonderful place

I stayed there for one night (almost 6 hrs) and I had the worst experience. Firstly, there is no staff after midnight and they have very limited occupancy which would make you feel like you are in a haunted house. Secondly the rooms were worst, shower was rusted and it fell which gave me an injury yet the hotel staff had the audacity to ask for 53$ to cover the cost of the damage without showing any concerns about the inconvenience they caused. We also had females in our group and the rooms provided to them had several red flags. Washrooms had several see through windows, there were no curtains. With the entire experience we all were extremely petrified and chose to spend the night in one room instead of being in 4 separate rooms. I would never suggest anyone to stay here. This was indeed the worst nightmare.
