That garden is a gem. It's very beautiful, well maintained, clean, spacious... the greenery is amazing, well reserved, and their teams take care of the garden. Moreover, with the signs placed inside and the explanations are enough to introduce every square meter in the garden. So that you don't need a guide. Anyone who comes to Sri Lankas must visit the garden. Anything I will write won't say how much beautiful this garden is. I have visited many botanical gardens in different countries, and this is the top. Amazing job done ✔️

The botanical garden has a lot of local and immigrated plants. It is cool to see the different plants naturally growing here in Sri Lanka. There were lots of monkeys and smaller animals we could watch. Only thing that was not what we expected was the spice garden within the botanical garden. Unfortunately the plants there were very small and looked dead. Overall a cool experience. We spent about 2 hours there and the entrance fee was 2000 rupees per person.

I enjoyed the calmness in the botanical garden. Especially after strolling around the city center. It isnvery nice to walk around and enjoy all these different plants. It would have been great to see more information apart from the names of the plantes. (Price November 2023 for foreigners: 3000 rupees for adults, 2000 rupees for students)

This a very beautiful place specially for flora lovers. University students of Botany will find it a heaven to explore a variety of plants & herbs. I visited this place long ago and was always trying to write a review. It takes a whole day to explore the beautiful park. Very well managed garden.

I had the opportunity to visit the Royal Botanical Garden in Sri Lanka during the month of February and it was truly a memorable experience. The garden is located in Peradeniya, near Kandy, and it is a paradise for nature lovers. Upon entering the garden, I was immediately captivated by the lush greenery and the vibrant colors that surrounded me. The garden is beautifully maintained and covers a vast area, allowing visitors to explore and discover its hidden treasures. One of the highlights of my visit was the orchid house. It was a delight to see the wide variety of orchids in full bloom, in all shapes and sizes. The fragrant scents filled the air, and I couldn't help but take countless pictures of these breathtaking flowers. The garden also boasts a collection of medicinal plants, which was both educational and fascinating. It was interesting to learn about the medicinal properties of various plants and their significance in traditional Sri Lankan medicine. As I strolled through the garden, I came across numerous botanical wonders, including magnificent towering trees, serene water lilies floating on the ponds, and a majestic avenue of royal palms. The diversity of plant species is truly impressive and there is always something new and beautiful to discover at every turn. In addition to its natural beauty, the garden also offers amenities such as cafes and picnic spots, making it an ideal place to unwind and relax. The peaceful ambiance and the soothing sounds of nature create a serene atmosphere, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of daily life. Very nice and relaxing experience!
