This is Mountain is Known as “KATUSUKONDA” translation of the word is Knife Edge. It gets its name from the fact thts a lofty peak with a narrow top like a backbone. 𒊹︎ ROUTE : Kandy ➪ Peradeniya ➪ Sarasawigama ➪ Upland. A very adventurous trip. The top of the mountain is in the shape of a lizard's spine. There are several ways to climb this mountain. It's worth it to come back the same way we climbed the mountain. This is because most of the climbers do not use the same route to go and come back, so they get lost and get into a lot of trouble. If you feel any discomfort or fear while climbing this mountain, immediately stop climbing safely and climb back to the exit.

It is a little hard rock hiking but more adventurous. When it is raining the hike will be some dangerous 'cos rocks are slippery. So apprentice hikers be careful on rainy days.Anyhow on the top with windy weather you can feel fear 😦 'cos there's a thin rock way like Lizard's back 🦎

Katusu Konda is a peak found in the Hanthana Mountain Range in Kandy. It is named such due to its shape resembling the back of a lizard (Katussa). The path leading up to Katudu Konda is not very difficult to trek. However, it gets very windy at the top of the peak and the summit is also very narrow. The hike is an adventurous experience and looking down from the summit of Katusu Konda is a dangerously steep slope. Hikers can experience amazing views from the top of Katusu Konda which includes the Knuckles Mountain Range, University of Peradeniya, Kandy City, Monaragala, Alagalla and Hunnasgiriya.

"Katusu Konda" translates to "Lizards Back" is a famous mountain near Hanthana. But most dangerous hike.please be careful when you climb the rock.A great camping spot is located at the bottom of "Katusu kanda". It is called katusu kanda, because this rock has the appearance like lizard's back. Keep only footprints 🍃🍁

Katusu Konda area in Hanthana has become more popular these days and too crowded. Specially with people who pollutes the environment and people who visit here to enjoy liquor.

Katusu Konda..Another beautiful, very scary, but must-see station and high mountain peak in Sri Lanka. You must be very patient and walk one by one. Otherwise, you cannot be responsible for coming back. Be more careful about fun and safety. Do not travel to the upper part of this area after drinking alcohol

👍👍 Footprint of fishing cat (හඳුන් දිවියා) in uragala. Katuskonda is very dangerous place because rocks are slippery when wet. Therefore travel safely.
