This building was supposedly where the Kandyan Queens and presumably their ladies-in-waiting had their baths in seclusion. Sadly, this historic building has been under reconstruction and restoration for almost 2 years with the masses of people walking past and dropping their garbage without understanding its significance to their history.

This was the bathing place of kandyan Queens and Princesses on those days. This building is a two storied construction. lower part of the ground floor filled with water. That part used as a bathing area for royal ladies.

🌍 The Queen's Bathing Pavilion, known as "Ulpange," is a significant and captivating attraction in Kandy. Situated near the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, this unique structure is partly in the waters of Kandy Lake and partly on land. It's a beautifully reconstructed building with historical significance. 🏛️ It is believed that this building was originally used for the Royal Queen's bath, adding a fascinating layer of history to the location. 🏞️ The architecture of the Queen's Bathing Pavilion is distinct and contributes to its overall charm. 🏊‍♀️ The water pool measures 19 meters in length, 9.4 meters in width, and 3.15 meters in depth. Originally, it was more like a footpath, but during the British colonial period, a two-story building was constructed over it. 📸 There are picturesque spots on the top floor where you can take photographs with a view of the lake. Best of all, you don't need to purchase tickets to enjoy this attraction. 👥 It's not overly crowded, making it an ideal place to explore and appreciate the history and architecture. 👍 If you found this review helpful, please mark it as such to encourage more elaborate reviews that help others discover and appreciate wonderful places! ✅

Another important and place of interest in Kandy. It is said that this building had been used for Royal Queen's bath. Now it is being renovated and reconstructed. The architecture a bit different and it adds another value to the location.

This was the Royal Bath dedicated to the queens of his majesty the king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe's harem! Later, It has been renovated during the British period and used to house the public library. Afterwards during the civil war a police platoon being stationed for the protection of Dalada Maligawa! At the moment it's in the process of being conserved once more!

Ulpange (Biso Bath) This archeological monument is named after the royal bisawun diya ne station, which has the name because of the pat unana or spring water or because of the preparation of hot tea. This monument, which is half in water and half on land, is located on Dalada Street and has an area of 15.3 perches. It was commissioned in the year 1806 by the last king of Sri Lanka, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe (1798-1815). This water pool, which is 19 meters long, 9.4 meters wide and 3.15 meters deep, was initially like a footpath, and during the British rule, a two-storey building was established by the sages. This monument, which was used for various needs in later times, has been registered as an ancient monument belonging to the Department of Archeology by the Government's Special Gazette No. 14970/3
