We visited the place based on Google reviews and this place was every bit of it.. awesome location with the most hospitable host.. feels like home.. the rooms are clean. they serve home grown and home cooked food and spices and it was just mouth watering. The host Mr Ajeet will take care of you personally, he has an immense knowledge of the area, best to go for beautiful nature walks! Also, Uday assisted us in traveling and was the perfect guide to explore the area.. if it was possible we would have extended our stay there.. but will definitely visit again..

Located within the heart of Kali tiger reserve. If you’re looking to stay within one of the densest forests, supported by a great host family (who treat you as one of their own) with incredible vegetarian (Havyaka style) cooking, cultural richness, star gazing at night, this is the place for you! Our family had an incredible two night stay. It’s hard to beat the price for the amenities and to put one for the incredible hospitality you are provided. Hosts- Ajith is always around to help when you need and can guide plan activities), knows quite a lot about the forest and the animals in it. Ramchandra ji and his spouse (master chef) are incredibly engaging and very helpful as well. The host family is absorbed in its roots and can share at length about the cultural richness of the area and places to visit in the area such as Hanging bridge, Ulavi temple and a few more. Uday is an excellent source and driver of the forest, especially off roads. This can go on. As our experience was - everyone there were always engaged to make our stay as homely and explorative as could be.

We were a group of five. We visited Amara on 8 th December 23. The home stay is located a few kilometres ahead of Dandeli. This is located amidst thick forest. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The best part of this home stay is the host. He is a young man, with deep knowledge of forest eco system. His knowledge about the flora and fauna of the area is so deep and his desire to pass it on the guests is so intense that a trail journey with him is enchanting and exciting. The food is traditionally prepared, super tasty and healthy. The hosts are very happy to feed and serve the food with love. The setting is ideal for a long stay during which one can simply relax. I have decided to stay there for a fortnight. I strongly recommend this place for nature lovers and travel enthusiasts.

Amara Homestay was recommended by co passing riders to me in Gokarna and when my plan to visit Dandeli became more stronger, I was contemplating whether to visit this place or not and guess what I really made a good choice by staying here, the place is maintained brilliant and kept simple and the ambience is just amazing, the food is ridiculously delicious and you really can't say no to anything that "he serves" I really liked the way Ajit treated us and gave us a full itinerary for the time we were there and indeed had an amazing time !!! Our roadtrip just became so memorable by visiting your place... As they say some things turn out to be more memorable when they are unplanned... Thank you Ajit, God bless you and your family and I certainly wish to visit you as frequently as I can 😊

We stayed at Amara homestay. It was a family vacation. I had heard a lot about this place from friends & my experience was great. We stayed here for 4 nights. I feel privileged to experience the hospitality provided by Mr Ajith & his family. They really go out of the way to ensure comfort of their guests. The food served was excellent. None of the food item was repeated either for breakfast, lunch, evening snacks or dinner in the entire duration of our stay. Ajith guides you on how to plan a tour to all places in dandeli. He also took us for a trek around the village. For the entire duration of the trek he was very patient & ensured that we saw exotic birds, spiders, scorpion, deer etc in their natural habitat. They also provide their own jeep to visit places like hanging bridge & anshi trek at a very reasonable cost. These places are less crowded & are a bit unexplored by tourists. (road to these specific places is not OK for normal vehicles / cars) The view at these locations is fabulous. Location of this homestay is 30 kms inside tiger reserve. So on your way you will be passing through a dense jungle & you might bump into deers, monkeys, peacocks etc. The drive to & fro from this home stay is a great experience in itself. I already feel the connect with Mr Ajith & his family & miss them. Normally I do not visit same vacation spot again but will surely go again here whenever I find time. Would like to say thanks once again to Ajith & his family. Hats off to you all & all the best to Amara Home Stay. Regards, Rohit Kavthekar.

The owner of this homestay is Mr.Ajit Hegade , he is very polite. We have to live either in tents or rooms in this home stay. The food served here is very delicious and healthy , made by Mr.Ajit's wife and mother. Daily we are served with some snacks and tea or coffee in the evening .The menu was different every day . I just can't forget the taste of the meals and snacks...wonderful! At the free time we have been provided with games like Carrom , Cricket , Dar Board , Badminton , etc. In the morning we can see different birds around here, Giant Squirrel , sometimes Deer . Every night there is bon fire arranged here . Staff is really very polite and caring . The service and the food is really very nice. Mr. Ajit guides us to make our trip's plan and it worked out very nicely. My second visit after 7 years. I had an absolutely delightful experience at this Homestay. The vegetarian food provided was not only delicious but also catered to mine and family preferences. The hospitality was exceptional. Host Ajit and his family members and staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. One standout feature was no network area, allowing me to truly unwind and disconnect from the outside world. Highly recommend this Homestay to anyone seeking a tranquil retreat with outstanding vegetarian cuisine and impeccable service. Suitable for elders and kids too.

Amara homestay was like our home. Hospitality was just awesome. Everyone there from Ajit's parents, Mrs. Archana Ajit, kutties, Uday, Narayan spoke cosily and treated us in a very warm way. Food offered had varieties for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nothing to beat the akki rotties, ragi rotties, side dish, sweets, rice varieties... Woweee!!!!!!! We had no space in our tummy. We were offered more and more. I visited this place with my daughter and mom. We had a great time. We would personally like to plan another trip to Dandeli, just to relish the cuisine and enjoy the hospitality.

Situated in the heart of Dandeli jungles is the small hamlet of Gund, where Amara Homestay is run by the Hegde family. Ajit is a wonderful host who makes sure that his guests become part of their family for the duration of the stay. His knowledge about the forest and passion for nature conservation are commendable. Do not miss the morning nature walk with him, certainly an unforgettable experience. The entire Hegde family is very warm and welcoming. All in all, a great experience.

The place is beautiful. Mr Ajit is a very humble & nice person regarding the hospitality of this Home stay. Food is excellent. Only veg food is available. We have seen Deer, lots of Birds & Giant Squirrel 🐿️ around this Homestay. Every day new delicious Dishes & different type of Juices provided by this Family are very tasty & healthy. All the staff is also very polite. The nearest places is Synthery Rock, Ulavi Temple, Hanging Bridge, Ulavi water falls. Jeep ride on the way of Hanging Bridge is most memorable experience of my family. This ride is in middle of Kali Tiger Reserve & Mr Basu drive safely to reach our destination & in return journey. Kali Tiger Reserve is very dense forest & this Homestay is in the core area of this national park. Suggestions - Please add activities like Cycling Archery Champion Carrom Board Thanks Ajit & Team

"THE BEST" of all is the only word comes into mind when one visit Amara Homestay. I have travelled to so many places and experienced so many Homestay in different areas in India. But this stay was the BEST of all. Once you have food over here believe me you won't forget the taste. Everyday different authentic menu, snacks along with the welcome drinks made up of homegrown farm. It is situated in dense kali tiger reserve forest. Very peaceful surrounding with the great hospitality of Mr. Ajit dada. His whole family is so loving and caring and attentive that one will not miss their own home. It's home away from home ! Ajit dada helps you to plan out the activities. As river rafting and safari are away from the homestay, he make an arrangements of transportation if needed. At night one can spot the group of deers in the homestay premises if you are lucky. I was lucky to witness group of 30-35 deers for couple of days. Now it's going to be a ritual for me to visit this homestay at least couple of days in every year . Again thanks to Ajit dada and family for such homely feeling, looking forward for visiting again soon.

I recently stayed at Amara home stay in the jungles of north Karnataka, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The property itself is incredibly beautiful, with a peaceful and serene atmosphere that makes you feel like you're truly getting away from it all. One of the highlights of my stay at Amara was the personal care provided by the owner, Mr. Ajith. He is an incredibly welcoming host, and he takes pride in sharing his knowledge of the local culture and cuisine with his guests. He went out of his way to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed, and I really appreciated his attention to detail. In terms of activities, there was no shortage of things to do at Amara. The property is located near the Dandeli river, and we enjoyed hiking through the nearby jungles and exploring the caves. The natural waterfall in nearby forest was also a highlight - it was such a refreshing and invigorating experience to bathe in the cool, clear water. And at night, we were treated to some amazing stargazing - the skies were so clear and bright, and it was a truly magical experience. Mr. Ajith also took us through a guided property tour where he passionately explained about various birds, insects and trees. Overall, I would highly recommend Amara home stay to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway in the beautiful jungles of north Karnataka. The property is well-maintained, the food is excellent, and the activities and experiences on offer are truly unique. Mr. Ajith is a fantastic host, and I'm sure you'll have a memorable and enjoyable stay at Amara.

Amazing hospitality with home-cooked delicious, unique and creative food items served with love. Owner's reside on the premises and make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. We discovered that the family is naturally talented in music and got a chance to listen to their soulful bhajans and songs. We also had other guests join us in our melodious evening. Best new year's eve spent in a long time! Will go again for longer duration.
