We decided to eat dhosa at a restaurant nearby, opposite to that there was an pet shop my dad is an vet so during an conversation he talked about his colleague doctor, the pet shop owner recognised her & told it was only 6km from there . So we planned to visit there , & it was our best decision so far in our journey , due to corona virus that place is closed but as it being my father's friend home her parents allowed us in . He was really nice guy he guided us through whole place . The collection of exotic animals he possessed was huge there were 8 birds who can speak , there were even allowed to stay out of the cage , that uncle had real binding with those birds , there were other animals too like Canadian goat, golden squirrel & many more, after that aunty invited us to there home & served us home made cake & home made wine it was really awesome , they were really sweet , in the end I would insist you to go visit this place , we had most amount of fun in my whole Kerala journey & I won't recomend you to skip this place, this was an must go place

Wonderful experience .. Did not expect to see such a variety of birds at this location We , me n my wife , found this place by accident. We were on our way to alapuzha town when we stoped over a pet shop . We wated to know if we could get some fishes for our tank , that is when we came to know about this place. Firstly we were sceptical as we did not know whether visitors were allowed here. It was a home and the owner was really kind enough to show us the entire place ... his whole collection of birds which he collected over 30 years ... Hats off to him ... for this great achievement ... If you are a bird lover , this is a must visit place ... Finnally when we were about to leave , he let his macaws to stand on our shoulders , . which was a wonderful experience ... Different varieties of Macaws , parrots, swans and other kind of birds can be seen here ..... A real animal lover ... Attached all the photos which I have captured from there ... You can also find fishes , different varieties of guppies over here ... Good collection ... A must visit place. ..

May be first of its type in Kerala to care, primarily pet birds, and, on occasion wild birds too. They have an amazing collection of exotic birds. Birds and other animals rescued from the wild will be treated free of cost.

This is actually a home where an old couple stays. And they charge 50 rupees per head to view the animals and let me tell you it's worth it. It's the husband who has craze of birds and animals and hence, he has most of them. The money collected goes to the charity itself and they don't earn any profit from that. The wife is also busy doing her paintings and she mentioned that her fights with her husband brings out this amazing talent of hers. This place is worth visiting once in a while. The birds are so friendly. We visited this place in the evening and hence, couldn't see all the birds properly.

It's not a zoo. It's a home with 150 varieties of birds treated with love & care. You will surely spend at least an hour in this location.

It is one of the beautiful places we visited during our Allepey trip. The birds are a real treat to watch, the owner of the place was so warm and welcoming.

Best private bird collection, I have ever seen. Marmosets and iguanas are also there. Better than any zoo, but costs only rs 50 per person. Enjoyed a lot.

You are so cruel to these lovely birds.Let them fly otherwise God will never forgive you. Feel the pain by keeping yourself closed in a room for a single day. There are many other ways to raise donations as you told me about your work .

Lovely collection of birds, the owner Mr.Thomas has collected them and built this place over 40+ years. He was really passionate to display his pets and does not charge anything, you're welcome to donate something, which is given to charity...a must visit whilst at Alleppey!

Dr Rani has started a vet hospital and she is specialised in Exotic birds. My cockatiel was sick and was treated by Dr Rani. My baby recovered very fast and I am very happy and satisfied with her service and dedication. Dr Rani knows a lot about birds and she is very familiar with birds as she has a huge collection of exotic birds in her house since her childhood.

The whole place is heaven filled with birds and good hospitality...The guidance was so satisfied by the care taker of this farm. Variety of birds which was so good to see a must visit place if you wanna try a place that's worth spending your entire hour in Allepey at a cheap cost of ticket at rupees 50.

Im really happy today … My birds were really unwell and was in real bad condition when I reached Dr Saras exotic bird farm Alappuzha for their treatment. I was really tensed seeing them but Dr Rani who took the responsibility and treated them so well that they were back to normal condition . Now they are having proper food intake and I’m really thankful to Dr Rani for the support she have given to me and my birds… once again Thanks 🙏🏻

The farm situated in Alappuzha, Poomkavu is a tranquil space filled with most exotic birds and animals, such as Senegal parrots, lorikeets, galah cockatoos, conures, finches etc The birds are kept in a comfortable hygienic space and zero stress. Highly recommended for anybody who has a passion for avian pets, it's a heaven on earth.

Very disappointing customer service. We went there to buy Iguana and the way the lady treated us is very bad. I won't suggest this place to anyone. The people there don't have any manners or respect to people. Zero rating!

Beautiful place to go with children or if you like birds. Takes about an hour to finish seeing and interacting with all the birds and animals
