The food was excellent, the service was, well terrible. It all started out well enough, the waitress was personable. After placing our order, she asked if we wanted cheddar biscuits, we said "sure". We had to ask for them when the food came. She had forgotten. The biscuits were bland, could've used a lot of seasoning, as a freebie I'm not rating them. The sandwiches were incredible! I got CJ's Reuben, and my wife got CJ's Club. (I tasted hers). My water ran out, now I'm the type that leaves it in plain view, on the side where everyone can see it, and I had hoped she would notice it. Finally, after we were finished, and she hadn't stopped, I called out to her for the check. She then looked at my glass, and asked if I would like a water "to go". I replied that I wanted one while I was eating. She was, by no means too busy in all the time we were there. I didn't tip. Tip is an acronym for 'To Insure Promptness'. I'm taking off a star for CJ's waitress, who should be working either in the back, or elsewhere.

This particular restaurant a top-tier spot on my Asheboro tier list! The breakfast here is always hot and tasty, the portion sizes are big and the waiters are super helpful. The lobby could be a little more spacious to accommodate the crowds that flock to this place on Saturday mornings, but it's only an issue when it's cold outside and there's no space to wait inside. Our Saturday morning breakfast was definitely a highlight of my day. Wonderful food overall!!!

Love! Love! Love! the breakfast to quote my friend. Both of us was saying it was the best omelet we had ever had and I have had good omelets for sure. That Farmers Omelet was the best omelet ever. Parking lot needs help, sign needs to be replaced, but don't let that stop you from visiting CJ's Olde Towne Restaurant. Waitress was awesome. I sure cannot eat here everyday. I would have to roll in and out of the car. CJ's you will see me again. Food, fellowship and a happy atmosphere makes for a great morning.

My friend took me here we while visiting her on vacation. We had brunch for my first time in this small town diner. Food was absolutely amazing tasted delicious not bland at all! Tons of flavor! This seasoned restaurant is a definite place to visit while visiting Asheboro North Carolina. Thank you for amazing food and excellent customer service. An acceptional experience at a great price!

What a great surprise in Asheboro! We were in town on a Saturday morning to buy a truck and needed a place to eat lunch. The mechanics at the shop suggested CJ's and their recommendation was spot on. This place is VERY POPULAR. Super nice staff. Great food. We got there a little late for the breakfast menu --- but the breakfast food we saw coming out looked GREAT! We had a burger and a reuben (with fries and onion rings) and thoroughly enjoyed both. The crowd was a great cross section of the community --- so it appears that everybody from everywhere loves this place. We will be back when we're in town again. I've GOTTA get a plate of the biscuits and gravy!

Stopped in on our way back to Apex. Was looking for a good southern diner- multiple vegetable options, meat and potatoes, homey kind of place. This place checked all the boxes. Fried green tomatoes were great (and awesome to have as a side option), sweet potato casserole was down right a dessert. Samantha, our server, made our whole experience superb. Cannot wait to be back to try their breakfast!

We stopped by here looking somewhere local to eat after going to the NC zoo. It was wonderful! The prices were extraordinary, the portion sizes were massive, and the service was outstanding. The kids meal was perfect for our child. It was $4 which was excellent. We got the country fried steak, mashed potatoes, and sweet potato casserole. And it came with a biscuit. Delicious classic comfort southern food The sweet potato casserole was to die for!! So so yummy. Can’t recommend this place enough. 5 stars for sure! (Although check the hours because it closes early!)

Love the food. I've been ordering take out for over two years but decided to pop in. The waitress asked if I wanted biscuits or toast, biscuits please. She came out with toast and was notified it was supposed to be biscuits. She left for about ten minutes and didn't see her again. I decided to eat the toast with my eggs since the biscuit wasn't coming. She came over immediately and told me I had to give her my toast to get the biscuit. I was in mid rip of the toast so I said ok... Gave it back and watched her put the stack of toast on another plate coming out of the kitchen being served to someone else. That's disgusting. The interior is desperately in need of a good clean and update. The waitress said new owners were the reason for her having to take the toast back to the kitchen. Food should never be taken from a customer and given to another customer especially after the customer has handled it.

Really good old time diner food. It was a little hot and crowded inside but the staff was great. Didn't wait that long for my takeout order. You can find their daily specials on their Facebook page. If you like old school good food then I recommend this place. They have burgers and fries to home cooking. Pretty cool dessert case as well.

Only had a lunchtime salad and water. The server was polite and refilled our drinks regularly. I tripled my bill with cookies. A great way to end a lunch with friends!

Don't let the outside fool ya! Very nice simple atmosphere. Excellent service and food! Recommended the loaded breakfast dishes. My wife recommends the tuna salad. Every plate that went past us looked delicious!

This is a great place to go if you're in Asheboro. I suggest going on a Thursday for lunch because the special that day is Chicken Casserole. It's absolutely delicious! And save room for dessert, you'll pies and other offerings. They also have a great breakfast menu. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming.

Update, I ate lunch with friends at CJ's today. My sandwich and fries were served hot and were delicious. Our server was wonderful. Several days ago: Eggs are offered for breakfast, any way you like. We ordered soft scrambled eggs. We know that it's not easy to cook soft scrambled eggs. Our eggs were served hot, fluffy, but there was nothing soft about them . We always wonder what we would get if the eggs were not ordered soft. Better not to offer "any way you like" if the kitchen staff has not been trained to do so.
