Went for a walk. It was quiet except for the locals firing guns in the distance. Typical Sunday afternoon in the South so I'm used to it. Nature walk was only a mile but it was well kept and fairly easy to traverse in Crocs! Most of the trail is covered in pine needles. There's several trail markers and educational plaques about Andrew Jackson. There is a replica meeting house. I did not venture near the actual birthplace house but maybe on my next visit!

I stop by on this weekend with my daughter and it was quiet. We just walked around and explore the area and see what the history was about.

We live a few minutes away and is a very beautiful park. But it will need some repairs throughout the walking trails as it looks like it has been neglected for awhile.

I love this state park! Camped 3 nights. Hiked both nature trails, kayaked the small lake, and walked through the museum and history markers. Highly recommend. Nice playground and picnic area.

This place is a must, beautiful and peaceful, but be careful with the wildlife, we almost stepped on this guy since we thought it was a branch

Went to the annual lamp light tour. There were stops along the way with actors portraying life in the 1700s and Andrew Jackson. It was well done and a lot of fun

Very clean, well maintained park with nice RV campsites. We camped in a 34' motorhome and had plenty of room. Park offers water and electric hookups at each site, along with a picnic table and firepit. Sites are nicely paved and level. Good bath/shower house available as well. Beautiful lake view from several sites. RV dump station onsite.

As a historian I find it interesting to have visited the boyhood home of President Andrew Jackson. I too learned his boyhood home was next to an Indian reservation. Well, then that makes a lot of sense why he and his family had a disdain or hatred for “natives, with he and his family being Scott’s/Irish.

We rented the Meeting House for a family get together. Wonderful building with a ramp at the back. Individual bathrooms and very basic kitchen area. Plenty of room inside for everyone.

April, 2022. Small campground, close to Charlotte. A couple of nice hiking trails nearby, plus Jackson's homesite and some historical markers. We had a quiet weekend, very relaxing.

We enjoyed our hike around the lake and time at the playground. There is a very nice museum there as well, obviously about Andrew Jackson's life.

Nice place if you like closeness.....tight spots and narrow roads. Shower and bath house was extremely clean and playground was wonderful. But also while my 3 and 4 year and the hubby and I were playing at the park there were 4 undercover and 1 k9 cop suiting up for something not even 75 feet from the playground by the dumpster....not a good feeling when you don't know what's going on or what's about to happen. We had site 6 and we also have a 35 ft skoolie and your neighbors were literally maybe 15 ft from our door. Roads were busy so kids could not ride their bicycles or enjoy anything other than right beside the bus. Very small campground with too many site. Will not be back.

Nice small lake. Very nice amphitheater. Plenty parking and picnic area. Has a kids play area. Did not go through the camping area. Nice rest rooms. Went on a Sunday afternoon to explore, but was raining and ended up having to leave. Definitely will come back again. Looks like a great place to bring your dog.

This is a nice park combined with history. I only walked the circle with the museum and historic markers to include a large statue of young Andrew Jackson on a horse. I was going to walk one of the trails but it was getting late and my girls were so tired from the trip.
