Alpha at it again. Took every single squat station in the gym and not a single person using them. Thanks for nothing jerks. Why don’t you raise your prices another $10/month and take away even more equipment. Note again piles of free weights also not being used that no one else can in the gym can use. This is how little Lifetime thinks of the other 200+ people on the gym floor that might like to squat or use some free weights. Ive been reading other google reviews stating the same thing I have been saying. They could double the free weight area and still be short. The squat stations are about 15’ from rowing. If they pushed the squat station closer they could double the number and not loose any gym floor space. Look at my pictures youll see what im saying.

This Lifetime has diminished greatly in service. The front desk staff is horrible with the exception of Vinny. The facilities often have broken equipment, the bathrooms are dirty and they have been using body wash for soap for months. For the type of money they charge for membership they should have professional service and superb facilities but the service and gym is sub par. I only go there because the classes and instructors are good, I am totally rethinking this investment and would cautious new people from considering unless you are ok knowing not to expect much or you will mostly utilize the classes more than anything else. My son can never play basketball because they always have leagues so its a waste to pay for him to be a member. If the cost were lower I wouldn't complain but for over the cost, the service and facilities don't equate.

The daycare here for the kids is absolutely a huge plus. Being able to drop them off to hit the gym or just take a breather at the pool is huge. Pool for the kids is also fantastic. The gym is nice but usually slammed. The free weight area is very crowded.

I love the children's academy, my daughter is very happy to go there. But I don’t like that they don’t clean well in the gym, sauna. Hair and dust are everywhere. I am very unhappy that the sauna does not work. There is always something that does not work, breaks, they cannot find the details. Steam blows cold air. I don't want to freeze in the bath)).

Lifetime took down one side of the basketball courts, for pickle ball, which is not fair for basketball players who are trying to shoot around and get little cardio in, basketball courts are over crowded, kids are trying to play with grown up and they don't get a chance to play, can't even enjoy basketball because they are try to accommodate for pickle ball, they could of used so much other space for pickle ball, some of us joined the gym for basketball where we can shoot around and get our workout in, this is truly very sad, what they are trying to do. When the league starts we will not even get to touch the basketball courts due to the lifetime league, the gym is no different than fitness connection, the gym had some prestige to it, because everyone was accommodated for what they wanted and with enough space. When you ask them, why are you doing this, they say its from the CEO, well its public company, we all have voiced our opinion on it, I think the customer/Client we deserve our opinion to be heard, even the pickle ball players are disappointed, they are like that is not fair to the basketball guys at all, therefore they are getting a one star. They have bugs in the showers, half of the stuff is not working. It takes two to three months for fixing there gym equipment, the place is going down hill. The way Charlotte is growing, it will be only matter of time when another gym opens up which bigger and better they will lose their customer base quick. This is not fair, we are paying money for the services we want, not to go by your guys rules, might as well take away the bathrooms because they are dirty pee stains all over the floor. Not enough towels, like what are these people thinking. Lets take away the tennis courts and see how they react to it ? You pay money for the services that were provided not to be taken away from us. The general manger is not doing his or her job properly, because if he or she was doing the job properly, they would have the place in mint condition, weights are all over the place, Alpha squat rack are taken from certain time but its alway empty. Like I mentioned before, we paid money for the services that were provided not to be taken away from us. Please do better Charlotte life time

Was obsessed with my membership for the two months I had it. After the second month, the honey moon phase was over. The front desk gentleman was ALWAYS rude and short. The actual workout area is so small. It has a handful of worn out benches. All equipment is directly in-front or next to one another. I did leg extensions and had to pause to let a man and his wife walk through the isle. Not to mention tons of teenagers using weights that are way too heavy, or sitting on equipment watching TikTok’s, basically asking for an injury. They could omit 20 of the cardio machines and ten of the tennis courts and make more room for people actually trying to workout. The pricing is INSANE. In the bright side, the pool is very nice, the steam room feels amazing, and it does feel like a cruise ship sometimes. such a grand space with a lot more potential.

First off, Love lifetime. Met the nicest people and the staff and facility is great. Childcare there is excellent as well. Posting here in hopes that management reads this length but important stuff. I work in analytics so seeing all the issues that persist and opportunities to make the place better go unchanged is irritating. **EDIT 3/28*** LaRay the GM contacting me personal to address all the things I had in this review. They are actively working to make an already great club better. Thank you LT team and Toni/LaRay

This is one of those gyms that looks great on an initial walkthrough, but then, once you start using it, you see all the many flaws. It's way too crowded in their little free weight area. There is nowhere near enough equipment. No one re-racks their weights or wipes anything down. They also have just raised their prices (which were already boarding on too high). Definitely not worth the price if you are into lifting.

My family and I (4 people) have been members for several years, and ultimately I don’t think this club is worth the high cost. We pay $325 per month. The gym equipment is about the same as any YMCA, and the staff are not particularly nice and friendly. On multiple occasions my child never went to a program he was signed up for in their childcare-center because he didn’t hear his name called. I explained to them, if he is signed up for an activity, please make sure he gets to that activity… they say ‘ok no problem’, but than fail to get him to the activity he is signed up for. This is just negligence, and we pay too much to be treated like that. Also, the steam room is not functioning properly much of the time… this is because the club is full of rowdy youngsters who do all sorts of shenanigans in the men’s locker area… like putting wet toilet paper over the sensor in the steam room, which quickly overloads it and causes the steam room to stop working. The club does nothing about these sort of things. The smoothies at their cafe are absolutely disgusting, though some of the other food offerings are decent. All in all, you pay a premium price, but do not get a premium experience.

I’m used to the Raleigh location— and they stressed to me that they are a “higher level” and have more to offer! While they do have more amenities, I go for the gym. It’s massively cramped up there, and the equipment is old and dirty. I really think that the Raleigh location is better! Clean, less packed with old equipment, and a much better location! I won’t be paying more to come here when my cheaper location is much nicer with upgraded equipment and large locker rooms.

Love this place! It has everything I need: great yoga and weights classes, big choice of equipment, fresh towels, shampoo, and sauna. Sometimes parties at outdoor pools and friendly environment. Positive energy around and beautiful people.

As of the date of this review, the membership fee (for 1 adult) is $239/month. Please note they only offer month to month memberships, there is no option for an annual membership. This is insanely expensive. For comparison, the cost of similar types of gyms in the DC/northern Virginia area is under $200/month. Further, this is easily the most unwelcoming gym I’ve ever visited. No day passes, no in-person tours for prospective members, and despite quoting me a membership fee, they’re not even accepting members. I’m unsure why they even have a website since it seems like they’re satisfied with the amount of customers they already have.

Gym is modern and clean. Free weight area is a little small for the size of the gym. Lot of high school kids being high school kids. Front desk staff is very rude. They don’t acknowledge your presence and act annoyed they have to scan you into the gym. In my opinion, there are much better gyms for less money!

I am sad to have to come here and hope my concern will be addressed. I love Lifetime and the people who work here. I cannot seem to get anyone to see the state of the both ladies’ rooms. There is hair and toilet paper and many other unmentionable issues with the bathrooms at all times of the day. I’ve spoken with 3 people at the front desk and emailed twice asking for simple wipedown and mop in the ladies toilet and shower areas MORE OFTEN . I have to plan to use the bathroom at home before coming to work out. It’s not being addressed even when kindly asked for. I love going to lifetime but may have to think about a different option.

This gym and daycare is truly unmatched to any place I’ve ever been. The daycare staff is so incredibly friendly and treat my son like their own. I always feel safe leaving him. As far as the gym goes it is extremely clean, well stocked, and offers everything you could need and more. The personal trainer Akane goes above and beyond in all of her signature classes and truly makes my gym experience exceptional. I would recommend her to anyone in any stage of their fitness journey. This gym membership is worth every penny! Thinking of signing my son up for swim lessons and I’m sure they will be fantastic too.

Lifetime is pretty good. It’s pretty clean, and the weight room is fairly crowded but it’s not too bad, the locker room/sauna area is pretty good and it has indoor basketball however… Loses two stars for converting one of the indoor basketball courts to a pickleball court. Now everyone is jammed onto one basketball court so you have to shoot around at obscure hours to not have it be packed. It’s like 40% of the reason I joined and I almost never use it now. Very disappointing.

I just did a tour there at the busiest time; Saturday late morning. I knew that going in, but took a chance since I was nearby. The woman at the front desk, Kahren (sp?) still took the time to answer all my questions. She was so nice and patient! I 100% will be signing up my family for memberships. The gym looked great and just knowing how helpful the staff was even at an inconvenient time for them was very telling! It was a great experience.

When signing up online, there is no place where it lets you read the membership terms, at least not before asking for payment information. That's a shady practice. I did end up joining the gym and it's nice. It never gets too crowded and the people are nice. Only negative I have found thus far is dirty showers. Raising my review from 1 star to 3. Keeping one star off for the online sign up process and one for dirty showers. I'll update if they start cleaning the showers better.

Great location especially on a busy afternoon. Staff has been one of the most friendly out of all the lifetime fitness locations I have visited! Was a bit busy when I was there and couldn't get a squat rack but looks like there is a strong Olympic lifting community there. The parents with small children parking was something I have only seen at the Charlotte and Raleigh locations but should be a standard for other lifetimes. Again one of the most friendly staff I have experienced out of all my travels.

I have membership with Life Time for more than 4 years now. I love the yoga class offered here. However, the women's locker room becomes more disappointed - not to mention that people talk loudly in the Sauna and Steam rooms, I lost my brand new pair of ECCO boots last night (which I could blame myself by not putting the boots in the locker), the lady near me said her friends lost a brand new pair of Nike sneaker a couple weeks ago there as well. Don't know what the gym management can do about this, but it's definitely disturbing.

Called to get some pricing and met by a lot of indifference and rigidness by the guy I spoke with. Told him I had just started a business (money is tight) and was asking if there were any deals and he was fairly curt and dismissive. Not saying he was a bad guy, but for the money that they're asking, you would think they'd be trained to be a bit more courteous. When you answer a phone, you're representing the company on all levels. I wasn't looking for a "free meal", but a little politeness would have been nice. I can spend money anywhere. After this experience, it simply won't be here.

I received a free membership with my employment. I terminated my employment, yet this gym - that I NEVER USED - has charged my credit card repeatedly for services I NEVER RECEIVED! I have asked them countless times to refund me for services I NEVER USED, NOT ONE TIME, and they have refused. Unfortunately, I had to report them to my credit card company in order to get the charges investigated, but still not refunded as of today. They deserve ZERO stars!!

Definitely lots of amenities which becomes worth the price if you stretch yourself amongst what they offer. I’m only visiting but I have to say, my *much* cheaper gym at home (another state), has a much better weight lifting section. For example, the layout here make no sense whatsoever & everything is cramped. Really the only good thing is the number of squat racks they have, but then they barely have enough benches (and again, they’re super close to one another). Another thing that grinds my gears is that the sauna is so bright & super small, especially considering the # of people who go here at a time. To end on a positive note, everything they provide in the locker rooms are super convenient & helpful - such as towels, make up remover wipes, deodorant and that alike.

I visit LTF locations in many different states. This club is exceptionally well laid out and appointed. I love the open spaces are great for catching up on work while traveling for business. Great job guys!

I already wrote a bad review on my other Google now I have to switch to this account to write another bad review!! because the situation with the massage chairs is VERY DISRESPECTFUL towards long time members!!! I can go get a membership at crunch and use the EXACT SAME massage chairs for 30 a month instead of "upgrading" my membership here to use chairs and now paying $70 more when I can GO TO CRUNCH INSTEAD!!THIS PATHETIC GYM WANTS TO SUCK YOUR MONEY OUT OF YOU!! NO THANK YOU!!! $250 A MONTH FOR A MEMBERSHIP?!? WHAT A SCAM!!

This gym was simply Elite! Definitely the best one I’ve been too and puts DOWD and LA fitness to shame 😂. Great equipment variety, everything was clean. The culture from staff to members were welcoming and friendly. Locker rooms were nice clean and the fact that you don’t have to bring your own lock is a nice touch, multiple pools and hottubs, friendly pickle ball and basketball community which immediately will get you friends if you are new to the area, multiple studios for a quiet moment or practice dance or whatever. All the ladies in the spa were nice and welcoming. Megan Taylor specifically in the spa was very knowledgeable and helpful to me with this being my first time coming to this gym, she made me instantly feel at home and all of the staff treated me well. The fact that this gym offers spa services is pretty unique as well, from hair care to full body massage I hadn’t seen anything quite like this! I will absolutely return to this Gym!!!

Run to the spa! I’ve been with Life Time for several years now and am a regular in the spa. Starting with Meghan at the front desk, she always has a smile and is excited to help you enjoy your experience. Q absolutely nails my mani/pedis. Not only do they last but cuticles have never been healthier. If you are suffering from dry skin or need to revamp your brows you can’t go wrong with Bree. She’s attentive and willing to educate you on skin care products. Last but not the least Jonathan for your color and cuts. I have thick curly and rude hair. He is patient, detailed oriented and genuinely cares about the quality of his work and how much you love your hair. Everyone in the spa is friendly, talented and you don’t even have to be a member to enjoy their services!
