They were so rude for no reason as soon as I came in the older lady with blonde hair kept getting smart in making side comments for no reason when I proceeded to go upstairs the Director with short hair hounded me for 5 mins about there policy that I “obviously” already know about I honestly feel like it’s because the color of my skin smh nobody should be treated like this. Most definitely Changing my gym membership to Planet Fitness!

They have such an amazing facility that can be used to bring glory to the lord, but their treatment of their employees is completely distasteful. Loyalty, dedication, and hard work was never valued throughout my many years working for them. I had more experience than many people but was never given priority to shifts, requested time off, and when it was time for raises, mine was less than those who hadn’t been there as long. I worked multiple positions and it still happened. I was left in the heated pool area with air temperature 86 and above and expected not to use the bathroom or eat for hours, sometimes a whole shift, so that means limited water as well. I was forced to work with a severe concussion after a major wreck. Worked through the loss of my first child and up until I had my second and was never asked to leave nor resigned but was never given the chance to come back. I’ve watched countless other dedicated employees be fired under cruel circumstances. For an employer that expects their employees to show pristine Christian values they seem to fall short themselves.

I went to the YMCA Saturday (11-30-2019). I had to check in first before I proceeded past customer service. I didn't know that it was time for me to do my recertification. The young girl at the receptionist (she had either long brown or black hair) was questioning me on why I didn't recertify. It wasn't the fact that she was questioning me, but how she was questioning me and her demeanor behind it. She made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. This is not the first time that I have checked in at the YMCA and she has made me feel unwelcoming. "She" must forgot the "old" and/or "new" saying " Treat others how you would like to be treated it." No one should ever go into a place of business and feel this away. The YMCA receptionist is supposed to greet, welcome, assist, and answer peoples questions (among other things) NOT make them feel this away. I will be calling Monday to speak to a supervisor about her.

Would be a great place for an athletic complex if the staff didn't treat high paying customers like inmates or children. Staff is in desperate need of people skills and customer service.

YMCA promotes single mothers and children to join but the staff at this location treat them very unkindly. The first time I brushed the horrible customer service off but the second time left me feeling like I never want to return to this location again. The staff (especially the older woman) need to be trained on how to treat customers. A supposed to be convenient trip to the gym with kids was ruined today. I’m so disappointed.

All the staff here are SUPER nice except for the girl life guard in the morning. One of the rudest people! She literally stared at us the whole time we swam with the rudest look. And stayed trying to say something to us. I was telling my kid to come down off the ramp and she proceeded to fuss about it when obviously I was handling it . If your gonna swim come at night the guy lifeguard is so sweet and won’t make you feel uncomfortable.

I joined here back in February, love the aquatic exercise, last week after exercising I could hardly use my right leg my knee was hurting something awful. The life guard told the office. Several people came to me to offer their help, I thought this was really sweet. They are a great bunch of caring people.

They are always very friendly, courteous, and willing to help! The equipment is up to date. It is clean. My kids love the children's programs (summer camp, youth sports, & after school)

Great YMCA! My fiancee and I just joined and have found that both the staff and amenities offered meet our expectations. Very clean and organized compared to other locations I've been to.

Everything has seemed clean and organized! Not to busy. We signed up last month and the lady at the check in counter was very friendly. She answered all our questions and helped us through the process. Plenty of equipment options.

Horrible experience!!. I signed my son up for swim lessons and trusted them to keep him safe. He never swam before in his life and they had a teenaged coach teaching him. I found out on my son's first day his coach had him jumping in 10ft of water ! My son didnt even realize how deep the water was and it really scared him, the next jump my son had told me he freaked out and gulped alot of water. Then the next day I told the swim manager that I really didnt want my son jumping in 10ft of water starting out, and she just said she would let his coach know to not let him do anything hes not comfortable with. Do you know how hard it is for one teen to tell another teen hes scared of the water? I was extremely upset that she just brushed me off after I told her specifically, I did not want my son to start off jumping in 10ft water.. I would not recommend trusting them with your child's life unattended!!!!!! Some managers here have no respect!!!

I wish we can rate the ymca by departments. I never have been a member there. Took my three kids under 6 to swim with Katie, the aquatic manager to teach them swimming lessons. She was nice nasty to my 4 yr old who is well behaved. It is almost like she has bipolar where she will be nice to him then the next moment talk to him rudely. I called her and told her that I am pulling them out of her class. Waiting for a refund bc I paid for the next season which would start in OCT. I didnt know that two of my kids will still be in her class so I cancelled those swimming lessons. The good thing about it is that the YMCA is everywhere. As a result, I will be contacting closer facilities in different cities. I forget to say that I spoke with Katie’s boss. She never said that she will talk to Katie or anything. She did say that she is sorry that I had that experience. When I spoke to Katie, she never apologized for her rude behavior. If u look at the reviews, people are writing bad reviews bc they had a bad experience with the people who work in the pool area. If u look at the reviews, would one assume that everyone is lying. Anyway, my kids still will go there for soccer. Their soccer coaches are wonderful and I have no problem with them.

Horrible communication. Needed to cancel my membership and had to go down there 3 different times just to cancel. The second time i was told after doing paperwork that it was canceled. They continued to charge me. I went back down there the third time and redid the paperwork again to cancel that I had already done. I took a picture of the paperwork this time for proof. Checked my bank account today and have been charged yet again!

It’s a shame . This place was honestly the best gym I don’t know what happen. I had to cancel my membership due to COVID. So as the year passed I started another membership but in Kernersville with a family plan. I work in Nordfab In Thomasville , after work I would try to go to the gym but then encountered a lot of problems in the from office. At first they told me , we don’t see you as a member. After they found me and saw that I was , they told me you can’t come in here no more you need to go to the one in Kernersville because “ we need to pay our bills too” that’s what the boss man said . Honestly it’s very sad because I know everybody, nice people , nice equipment , but when they told me I was allowed to come in no more . After paying my monthly bill and finding me as a member, and still saying I’m not allowed due too there not making any money from me put fire in my belly. Alan is the only one saving this place…learn from him

👍👍 [I normally workout here on weekdays in the morning+early afternoon] The team members here are always cleaning & are very welcoming. The check-in process for both regular & Black card members is also fluid & fast. The men’s locker room has 2 toilet stalls, 2 changing room stalls, & 3 shower bays. E...

😐 I admittedly only go here on day passes when I'm here for work, but it's only an OK gym. It's far cleaner with better equipment than Anytime Fitness, but it's CROWDED. Not "too many people" crowded, but "equipment just stuffed in a room" crowded. Still, your best option for a gym in Thomasville.

Even in the past month I have personally seen a lot of growth in the gym as memberships rise. Mike’s training programs have been amazing. He truly takes pride and cares about...
