The staff was great and very friendly, the course was in great shape. Greens, fairways, and bunkers all are maintained well. The course is open and fun to play. I would recommend playing this course.

lets be honest: this course has no business charging $70 a round in it's current shape. Most of the teeboxes and fairways were in decent enough shape for a public course but the greens looked like they had just been shelled by battleships for hours before we started our round. saw several fairway bunkers in need of a good mow or a water pump. it was a fun layout with a lot of great holes, but at that price point i would expect the grounds crew to be a little more invested in what the course looks like. PS - to all my fellow golfers who leave divots and ball marks all over the greens with repairing them: you are not helping anyone or anything. please do better cleaning up after yourselves and we can all enjoy nicer looking courses.

Absolutely awful. Greens are in terrible condition, bunkers are not maintained, and all the staff had were excuses when I brought it up. Just about every muni course in Charlotte is in better shape, save your money. I gave 2 stars because the fairways and rough were in very good shape. Otherwise, charging $87 for a round here is borderline criminal. Pics are a fairway bunker on 5 and the green on 7. Edit: after seeing Maria’s response, I checked greens fees and they are $6 less. So if $81 seems more reasonable to you than $87 for a round in these conditions, enjoy.

Braving a cold and damp day at Emerald Lake, I found the course resilient after recent heavy rainfall. Despite the lingering moisture and low temperatures inhibiting drying, the overall condition of the course stood out, especially considering the time of year. The bent greens, in particular, maintained their true roll, contributing to a satisfying round. The course's layout presented a delightful challenge without veering into excessive difficulty or length. Beyond the greens, the entire course showcased commendable upkeep, with minimal intrusion of weeds and debris. This attention to maintenance, coupled with the enjoyable design, left me feeling that I received good value for the price. Emerald Lake proved to be a resilient and enjoyable golfing experience even in less-than-ideal weather conditions.

Staff is great, always helpful and focused on a good experience at the course. The same can not be said for the condition of the course. Played here for years and not sure what happened to the course condition. Grass is scarce from the driving range to the tee boxes to the fairways. The greens have some sort of fungus and while the greens are fast they are really in bad shape with bare spots and really bumpy. Hopefully it comes back into its former shape. Great course when maintained.

Very nice course, good prices, challenging yet fun, great staff and friendly players on the course. Hole 9 green fringe was in rough shape, another couple of holes on back were as well from the mower on the green. Has potential for 5 stars.

I paid $80 to play out there this morning (9/16/23) and the greens were awful! They were literally spray painting the greens this morning. #3 is basically a green painted, sand surface with weeds growing on it. I love the layout of the course, but they shouldn’t be charging this rate based on the conditions!

Not worth $88, will quickly see on the first two greens as they have multiple dirt patches covering the edges. Better courses for better prices elsewhere.

Overpriced ($45 course) bad edges on greens. Nice layout but way overpriced! $91 on Friday. If I could have driven the course, would not have played.

Played 6/3/23 First, way, way overpriced, paid $80, last week it was $70 something is going on !!!!! No marshall, pace was ridiculously slow. Cart girl nowhere around, finally saw her, I asked her "what's your deal" she replied, someone paid me too stay on the back nine, really !!!!! This course lacks leadership, customer service and integrity. This course is one of the worst ran courses in the area, if you're from out of town, don't play this course.

Greens in Terrible condition! $75 for my 5yr old son and I to play 9 holes. We usually play the divide but not able to get on at last minute. Lesson learned.

Beautiful venue and some great spots around golf course for pictures! We recently photographed Amanda & Philip's wedding here. The staff provided our couple with golf carts. They really take care of their clients and photographers.

We played this course on Monday afternoon(12/27), was not impressed. I know its the winter time, but I expected more. Driving range was mostly hitting off dirt(NO GRASS) putting green was beaten up, the regular greens were beaten up. The speed was great but had patches of dead & dried up areas with fungus. We use the play this course all the time but for the price of over $50 I(we) need to see more. It was not worth the money on this round. Maybe it will be better in March or April.

The course conditions warrant somewhere around a $40 weekend greens fee. $79 is absurd. Ok, conditions aside we are 4:45 minutes jnto our round waiting on the 18th tee. Well finish somewhere around 5 hours 15 minutes. Not worth playing here when there are plenty of other options.

Definitely not worth $50 for 9 hole on a Friday afternoon at 2. Quote 40 over the phone charged 50 at the course. If 9 holes is 50, I can only imagine what 18 hole cost.

The driving range was atrocious. The balls easily were 10+ years old and most didn’t even have dimples left on them after probably thousands of hits. The tee ground for the range is a sand trap- literally covered in fresh sand. Perfect way to ruin your clubs- grinding the grooves out of a bunker 30x to warm up. The course was okay- but they charged $80! It wasn’t like it was overseeded or had beautiful greens. I’d avoid it at all costs- this used to be an exceptional course but it’s gone downhill in a hurry.

Course is very playable and a good deal for the Charlotte area. However, the greens are in desperate need of repair and a few of the tee boxes are so bad you can’t find a good place to stand. The fairways are nice and the rough is challenging. Tees and greens need TLC before I’ll play there again.

Top notch facilities and staff. Greens are running pure for this time of year. The new team has this course in great shape and have made several improvements. In the best condition I’ve ever seen it!

Always loved this course. Played it today. Fairways in great condition, in my opinion. Aerated the greens a week ago but knew that going in. Much work could be done around the cart paths and many bare spots in a lot of places. Realize many places are understaffed but the snack shop/grill needs to be open so we're not limited to junk food in the pro shop. A little overpriced for how the course is right NOW, but so is everything else. They can do whatever they please rate-wise F--Sunday but too expensive on their M--Th fees.

Greens we’re probably the worst I have seen in the area. They were like dead around the outside edges. Definitely not worth the 77 dollar green fee we were charged. Last several time the course has been just mediocre! Don’t need excuses on why the greens are bad. The employees should tell people over the phone when they make tee times. This according to the reviews has been going on for quite sometime if I was owner I would have hired a new green guy by now.

Greens are in terrible shape!! Not worth the money. It use to be one of my group's favorites, accept when it rains. The course doesn't drain well. It would be nice to get a heads up. Most courses will reduce fees in these conditions. Needless to say, it has fallen to the bottom of our list of courses to play in the area.

First time playing this coarse. Not a long coarse but it does require some accurate tee shot placement and approaches. Some of the greens were disappointing, seems the long dry and very hot summer weeks took its toll on some of the unprotected greens receiving direct sun all day long. They should be able to recover fully by spring time. That being said, the rest of the greens were in very good shape. Would like to play another round this coming spring. I would have given another star if the coarse was in a little better shape.

It is a beautiful track. Gorgeous layout. The greens were awful and for the price it was unacceptable. The person who took our tee time should’ve been honest with us, we would’ve appreciated it. Also, the website talked about a restaurant or at least a snack bar where you could get sandwiches at the turn. No such luck, the best they could do is chips and crackers. Very disappointing, we won’t be back anytime soon

We had our wedding at this venue this month (December) and it was perfection! Maria is hands down the best and most delightful person you could plan a wedding with. She's super kind, flexible and very supportive... just what any bride needs. The venue is gorgeous as is so if you don't want to fuss with a bunch of decor this is the perfect facility for you. Bridal suite was lovely and the perfect backdrop for our pictures. Food was a huge hit among our family and they can be very opinionated so that says alot about their catering. I could go on but suggest you visit and call the sales team... ask for Maria and tell her Charla sent you. You wont be disappointed!

One star is too much. Course is in horrible shape all around. Crab grass growing on greens and fringe almost every hole. Tee boxes with mostly sand very little actual grass. This course has the potential to be a good track. Unfortunately management/ownership has neglected routine maintenance but continue to charge exorbitant rates. Go anywhere else, pay less and have a more enjoyable round. Shame on anyone who thinks this is worth $80

Played Saturday 8/26/23. Cost $80 and the greens are in horrible condition. The course was filled with golfers at $80 per golfer where’s the money going? Not back into the course. Drink cart girl was great and that was the only good thing about Emerald Lake. I will not return until the greens are fixed.

Love this course! Even in some of the toughest months the course still looks great. Super playable compared to other local courses and the greens roll awesome after they warm up. Facilities are always in good condition too which is a plus. Definitely would recommend a weekend play here anytime.

Great track that is always well taken care of. It is well manicured and the greens/fairways come fall and winter stay in great condition. The staff are thoughtful and friendly. One of my go-to courses and I highly recommend.
