One of the best place if you are interested in history and ancient architecture. The fort is well maintained due to CM visit to Jhansi otherwise it was not that much maintained. Recently they have installed some good lights at the perimeter of fort. It's look nice at night. Also, anyone can watch light and sound show at night.

Felt so incredible and proud to stand in the same soil and walk the same corridors which was graced by the epitome of female bravery and one of the leading figures of Indian rebellion! The sprawling 15 acres provides an opportunity to soak in to this amazing architecture marvel. The entry fee is 25 rupees. The fort provides a panoramic view of Jhansi. Must visit.

Must visit historical place in Jhansi. I have been here multiple times and this time I felt that Archeological department has done great work to maintain this place. Most if the part of fort is well maintained and clean. Drinking water and toilets are available. No food stalls inside fort which helps in keeping it clean. Monkeys are also gone now. Both paid two and four wheeler parking are available.

I loved this fort. You can see the Jhansi city from top. The toilets are okay. There is not too much climbing and they also show a short documentary of around 10 mins. All about Jhansi ki Rani.

We visited Gir national park in the 1st week of January for a 3nights stay. Did 5 open jeep safaris and had an wonderful experience to share. The trip actually happened by chance! We initially planned to visit tadoba which was due for a long time.. But by the time we decided and gathered all resources to book, I guess we were a couple of days late as all the options was full in terms of safari. Disappointed we were thinking of options and was closing in for a hill station near goa, when my wife chanced upon Gir as an option. I had seen tigers before in other national parks but lions and that to asiatic lion immediately exited me and at once started looking for options. Again I felt I must have missed out on safari bookings as this is heavy tourist time but to my surprise there was availability. I believe owing to covid 19 and restriction of foreign nationals must be the reason behind this availability. We at once booked all safaris, resort to stay and travel to avoid any mishaps that may happen. With lots of expectations and fully geared up (it was extremely cold in the morning)  we went for our 1st safari. At the entrance gate when our guide stopped to show our permits, we heard the roar of a lion at a close distance.. It's was really exciting and we knew that the next 3 days is going to be lot of fun.. During the 5 safaris (gate no 10, 6,7, 12 & 4) we did get to see 8 set of lions (16 individual in total) 2 leopards, crocodile, jackals, nilguys, wild boars, countless deers both spotted and Sambar deer, number of birds including 2 different types of owls and hawks. I mean we couldn't have asked for anyone more. Lioness sitting at a distance of 10m with its mate a bit far away with a half eaten Buffalo is the highlight of this trip.. We wished to see the very very elusive stripped hyena but I guess it's ok, you can't get everything that you want. Overall I feel it's a complete trip with lots of memories to charish for a long long time.

Jhansi fort gives you different vibes of history. It's not some fancy mansion. It is very well maintained and contains world's 2nd biggest cannon. They also provide travel manual/map as a guide so one can read history of every corner in fort. One of the best place to visit if you are in Jhansi.

I was very keen to see this fort. Had studied a lot about Jhansi Rani Lakshmi bai, her braveness and her greatness. i always admired her and the way she fought with the enemies. We wanted to see the fort in Jhansi. Very very huge fort, very well kept. The gun at the entrance, the lake and the temple inside the fort are worth seeing. Visited the museum, but could not stay back fot the sound and light show. Need to walk and climb some steps. Better to go in the early morning or evening to avoid heat and hot weather.

The fort of Maharani Jhansi has strategic importance since the earliest of times. It was built by Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo (1606-27) of Orchha on a rocky hill called Bangra in the town of Balwantnagar (presently known as Jhansi). The fort has ten gates ( Darwaza). Some of these are Khandero Gate, Datia Darwaza, Unnao gate, Jharna Gate, Laxmi Gate, Sagar Gate, Orcha Gate, Sainyar Gate, Chand Gate. Among places of interest within the main fort area are the Karak Bijli Toup (Tank), Rani Jhansi Garden, Shiv temple and a “Mazar” of Ghulam Gaus Khan, Moti Bai and Khuda Baksh. The Jhansi fort, a living testimony of ancient glamor and valour, also has a fine collection of sculptures which provide an excellent inside into the eventful history of Bundelkhand.

Majestic fort overlooking the Jhansi City. Best time to visit is during winters. Avoid summer season. Entry fee is Rs. 25. Free entry for Children upto 15 years. At least 2-3 hours and good fitness levels are required to explore the complete fort otherwise can also be seen in parts in 1.5 hours.

A very good historic monument one can visit in Jhansi. Its good to do some research about the place before you physically pay a visit. This will give you sn understanding of the rules who built it and for what purpose. Its on a elevation so you can get the entire glimpse of Jhasi city from top of the fort, provided the weather is clear. Best views csn be in summer when there is no fog.

Well preserved and full of history. The restoration work has been spot on and the cleanliness is well maintained. The entrance ticket can be bought online (link & QR code can be found at the entrance) as they are cheaper than offline tickets (or what is being "charged" at the entrance).

Gir national park is situated in gujarat. It is well known for Asiatic Lions. This wildlife sanctuary is well managed. I am lucky that i could able to see Lioness & two little cute cube at first jungle safari itself. U can get hotels for stay & food opposite main gate of park. It is a must visit place for wildlife lover. Apart from lions u can see peacock, deer and other animals.

Would recommend to get an guide will cost 300 rupees along it will be more useful..otherwise it's an small fort to be visit , an hour enough. But it was good to know the struggles with which Rani has fought through out ..you can clearly see how simple life they life's less like a king more like a fighter . New flag point was also recently inaugurated by Mr.Modi . The view of city from top is beautiful. Also new laser show is also added on place of light and sound show which earlier happened.

Jhansi fort is around 5kms away from the railway station. It was Constructed earlier by Raja Veer singh deo Bundela (a bundela bundela region ruler). Wonderful huge campus of the fort allures the tourists from the world and for Indians, they surely feel proud. They imagine to relive the history here. They remember the rebellion revolt of 1857 wherein Rani Laxmibai (@Manikarnika, Manu) fought bravely for her Jhansi. After the death of Raja Gangadhar Rao to whom she was married, she lived here in the fort otherwise she used live most of her life at Rani Mahal which is distinctly situated from the fort. ₹25/- per head charges but if you book tickets online it costs you ₹20/- each.

A national park is a park in use for conservation purposes, created and protected by national governments. Often it is a reserve of natural, semi-natural, or developed land that a sovereign state declares or owns. Although individual nations designate their own national parks differently, there is a common idea: the conservation of 'wild nature' for posterity and as a symbol of national pride. An international organization, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and its World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), has defined "National Park" as its Category II type of protected areas.According to the IUCN, 6,555 national parks worldwide met its criteria in 2006. IUCN is still discussing the parameters of defining a national park. While this type of national park had been proposed previously, the United States established the first "public park or pleasuring-ground for the benefit and enjoyment of the people", Yellowstone National Park, in 1872. Although Yellowstone was not officially termed a "national park" in its establishing law, it was always termed such in practice[5] and is widely held to be the first and oldest national park in the world. However, the Tobago Main Ridge Forest Reserve (established in 1776), and the area surrounding Bogd Khan Uul Mountain (1778) are seen as the oldest legally protected areas, predating Yellowstone by nearly a century.

It is a historical place and remembers the glory of our great indian warrior. When you spend time by looking to the great fort you somewhere feel the glory and richness of our great emperors/Queens . Rani Lakshmi Bai always represents the Strength of woman and nationalism. Her story motivates every Indian. If you have time to visit Jhansi then must visit the fort. It's realy a big fort where you can spend whole day, at least 3-4 hours needed to feel the glories.

I was born and raised in jhansi and this fort was my first introduction to rich heritage and history of India. Recently, it has been really well maintained with a nice garden on the inside where one can hang out with family or friends. The fort is really a gem and host to a lot of historic artifacts including guns and cannons. The views from the top are really breathtaking. A recommended visit for anyone visiting jhansi.

A glimpse of the Bundelkhand history. -the Jehangir Mahal - the most imposing and impressive structure in Orccha. It was built in the 17th century by the then king Vir Singh Deo as a symbol of his friendship with Mughal Emperor Jehangir. This 3 storeyed structure is built in beautiful Bundeli architecture with a gorgeous decorated front facade that used to once have turquoise tiles and stylishly done domes, balconies and courtyards. The story has it the entrance was studded with sculpture of elephants and war artillery to appease the Mughal Emperor and praise the dynasty by humble architectural tribute......

The Jhansi fort is located in the middle of Jhansi city. It is 2.5 km away from the Jhansi Railway station. The nearest airport is Gwalior, which is 103  km from Jhansi. The construction of the Jhansi fort is described to the Bundela Rajput chief and the ruler of the kingdom of Orchha Veer Singh ju Deo Bundela in 1613. In 1842 Raja Gangadhar Rao married Manikarnika Tambe who was the given the new name of Lakshmi Bai. She gave birth to a boy, later named Damodar Rao . In 1861 the British Government gave the Jhansi fort and Jhansi city to jiyaji Rao scindia , the Maharaja of Gwalior , but the British took back Jhansi from Gwalior state in 1868. The fort extends to a spread in 15 acres. Every year in the month of January–February a grand occasion is held known as Jhansi Mahotsav. Such a beautiful place to know our brave freedom fighter history. You should visit this amazing site. 🇮🇳

"A Glimpse into Our Rich History - A Must-Visit!" Jhansi Fort is not just a historical place; it's a living testament to the struggles and sacrifices of our ancestors during a pivotal period in our nation's history. Visiting this fort was an eye-opening experience, reminding us of the relentless fight for freedom against the British. Walking through the corridors and ramparts of Jhansi Fort, one can't help but feel a deep connection to the past. It's a place where you learn about the valiant efforts of those who fought to protect our heritage and secure our independence. I believe that everyone, young and old, should make a pilgrimage to this fort. It's a crucial reminder of how precious our freedom is and the steep price our forefathers paid for it. We owe it to them and to our future generations to preserve and cherish this piece of history. Jhansi Fort serves as a powerful educational tool, and it's our responsibility to pass on the knowledge and the appreciation for our heritage to our children. Our history is a treasure that must be protected at all costs. Jhansi Fort is not just a tourist attraction; it's a symbol of our resilience and determination as a nation. It's a place that instills a sense of pride and gratitude for our freedom. I urge everyone to visit and reflect upon the sacrifices that paved the way for the India we know today. It's a priceless experience that deserves a 5-star rating!

This fort is very close to the railway station and bus stand. It is very easy to reach this fort from both the places. This fort is also the pride and identity of Jhansi City. Many memories related to the queen have been kept in this fort, it shows how brave the queen was and how much she loved her subjects. Along with this, her struggle also shows that she loved her country very much and sacrificed everything to make her country free. I was feeling very proud to come here. And I want you to come here at least once with your family. And you should also tell and show the history of this place to your children.

I went there almost 10 years ago for the first time. This time also I felt the same as earlier. The moment you reach there suddenly something inside of you awakes, as it's hard to describe in words. But your spirit realises the massiveness of the fort. The rich cultural heritage and history that is carved on stones. The history which is written by the blood and sweat of our ancestors, everything starts like a flashback in your mind as if it all happened soon in front of you. If you're going there for the first time I would suggest clicking less photos and feel more of it. You have to surrender yourself completely to feel it completely. If you want to see all of it in a day then my suggestion would be to arrive in the morning, have some water, and take a rest after some time. Then you can cover it all in a day. Just go there, don't think!

Gir National Park : The Majestic Home Of The Royal King : Besides Africa, Gir National Park in Gujarat is the only place in the world where you can spot lions roaming free in the wild. The real discovery channel of India is situated approximately 65 Kms South East of Junagarh District. The Government notified the large geographical extent of Sasan Gir as wildlife sanctuary on 18th September, 1965 in order to conserve the Asiatic Lion. It covers total area of 1412 square kilometers of which 258 Km forms the core area of the National Park. Indiscriminate hunting by the people of Junagarh led to their decrease in population drastically, while they were completely wiped out from the other parts of Asia. It was the kind effort of Nawabs of Junagarh who protected the queen royalty in his own private hunting grounds. Later in due course of time Department of Forest Officials came forward to protect the world’s most threatened species. From a population of approximately 20 lions in 1913, they have risen to a comfortable 523 according to 2015 census. There are 106 male, 201 female and 213 sub-adult lions in the wilderness of these four districts.

A historical monument replete with history Magical Made in 22 years to host Jehangir by Raja Vir Singh Deo it is a mix of Hindu and Mughal architecture The entrance is from the east with three platforms For alighting, from an elephant, camel or horse You must take a guide (who charged us 600 RS ) wore a mask and used his own motorcycle. He spoke about the blend of architecture and told us about the court dancer Rai Praveen who had rebuffed Even Emperor Akbar he also spoke eloquently about how the Raja here had supported Jehangir and made the whole experience v interesting You can spot vultures here and the river Betwa flows nearby Not good for the elderly as a lot of steep steps are there but then they can easily just see the ground floor and the youngsters can climb up to the higher levels

Decently well maintained historical venue. It was scarcely crowded the day I visited. What I absolutely hated was the smell of piss, particularly in the covered areas of the fort. It made the visit quite unbearable. One, unfortunately, cannot expect people to be decent. It would be great if certain areas of the fort can be appropriately manned to help maintain the integrity of this great fort.

The fort is a large and imposing structure, with massive walls and bastions. It is spread over an area of 15 acres, and has 10 gates. The fort is well-maintained, and offers stunning views of the surrounding city.

A historical place, gems of Jhansi, grandeur of India, and the place of Maharani Laxmi Bai. Visited first time, and got mesmerized. A fort made of grey sandstone and when you will come upwards, you will be able to see whole Jhansi, a mesmerised view. Different sections are available in this fort and you will got idea about the history of this place. If you read about this place before visiting, then you will be able to relate all the things about this fort. Must visit this place.

It has amazing architecture and its more than 200+ years🤩 but still the the walls are well maintained nd had amazing experience 😌 just make sure you wear something comfortable footwear coz you’ve walk alot there also climb the stairs, best time to go there is in evening and they conduct light and sound show on the walls on rani laxmibai story! It’s price is 250/- per person and the entry ticket for fort is only 25/- per person… the light and sound show begins from 7:30pm to 8:20pm everyday. Must see! And must visit the fort coz we cant capture what we have seen through eyes!

A simple nice, small fort in the heart of the city, will take 1-2 hrs of your time. Rani Laxmi Bai lived here for sometime n then fled during the war with her new born son. A well maintained, calm n clean fort. There is a map at the entrance so you doing miss on seeing all points. Be careful with the small door opening as might hurt your head. Wander around by self to discover lower levels of the fort. Light n laser show is available at night time 7-8/8-9

Jhansi Fort is a good reminder of the First Struggle for Indian Independence in 1857 and the role of the queen of Jhansi Laxmibai in it. However, the fort does not have much to see except walls and fortifications. Most palaces are bare walls and nothing more. There is not even a statue installed of the illustrious queen at the entrance to the fort. In all, it is a thirty minute tour where you won’t see much except walls and a garden.

I had a bad experience because I went from a bus which is waste of money it was 190 rupees for Indian and for foreigners it is 400 rupees it was a 20 min trip in which I only say some lions, some deers and some cheetahs nothing else. Your money is only worth if you go by a jeep which is about 4000 rupees but you will see all the animals and your money will be worth in the jeep there will be space of about 6 people

They don't assure yhat you could see animals or not. If you get to see lions, tigers, etc. in your first safari, then you're very lucky. i could only see some Deers, Nilgai, and one lioness.

The establishment of the Jahangir Mahal dates back to the 17th century A.D. when the ruler of the region Vir Singh Deo built the structure as a symbol of warm reception of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, during the latter’s first visit to the city.

Jahangiri Mahal (Hindi: जहाँगीरी महल, Urdu: جہانگیری محل), may be the most noteworthy building inside the Agra Fort of India. The Mahal was the principal zenana (palace for women belonging to the royal household), and was used mainly by the Rajput wives of Akbar. It is a form of Islamic architecture .

This place has so much history! Beautifully built and the guides are great, they have so much knowledge and tell you much informational and interesting stuff that dates back 100s of years. There's definitely lot of pride when you're around here. Just be mindful of you have infants or elderly with you, since there's definitely lot of walking and esp if you're climbing up for the shaving views from the upper floors of the fort, the steps are extremely steep and tiring! However, one disappointment was the entire place being a tourist site was crowded but not at one place did we see any sanitization or masking protocol being followed. In fact our guide himself didn't have any mask on! Would really appreciate if MP Tourism can pose strict safety standards for visitors in tones of a global pandemic.

It is one of the most visited sites in Madhya Pradesh, India. This is the most important place in the History of Mughal Empire and others also Jahangir Mahal, 17th century mansion, is remarkable for its vivid and fine Indo-Islamic style of architecture. The reason behind the construction of this palace was to honor Jahanghir on his first visit to Orchha. In this storied building, elements like marvelous sculptures, hanging balconies, delicate trellis and chhatris, topped domes, etc., represent an excellent architectural brilliance. The Jahangir Mahal was built in 17th century by Bundela ruler, Bir Singh Deo. This palace is the symbol of friendship between the Bir Singh Deo and Jahangir. During the first visit of Jahangir in Orchha, this palace was built in his honor. The entrance of the palace is noticeable by traditional and artistic gateway. The front wall of the palace is covered with turquoise tiles and faces to the east. The magnificent Palace is a tourist destination for its grace and finest piece of architecture during Bundela Dynasty. Jahangir Mahal was built by King Vir Singh Deo, honoring the Mughal Prince Jahangir in the 17th century. This three storied structure is situated in the Fort complex of the Tikamgarh District of Orchha, it overlooks the Betwa River. The palace is spectacular and is built in an Indo Islamic architectural style, it consists of several courtyards, balconies, rooms and domes. The entrance facing the east is elaborate with the wall designed with turquoise tiles. Two stone elephants greet you at the entrance with a bell, which used to mark the entry of the king in the olden times. The best time to visit the palace is between the months of October and March as the temperature becomes pleasant. Visiting hours are, from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm.

Visited the Orchha Fort complex back in January before the lockdown. This is one of the palaces inside the complex, which was apparently built purely for the one night that the Mughal Emperor stayed in the Orchha as a guest of Bir Singh Deo, the King of Orchha. Sounds a bit dubious. It’s certainly a pretty building with multi-tiered arcades and colonnades with views into the interiors and courtyards. The walls are topped with elegant Indo-Islamic style circular colonnades of varying sizes.

Jahangir Mahal is a magnificent palace built by the Orchha ruler Bir Singhdeo Bundela for his good friend Jahangir. It stands today as a memorial to the great friendship between these two erstwhile rulers. Thus this massive Mahal has traces of both Hindu & Islamic styles of architecture Bir Singh helped Jahangir during his clash with his father Akbar. In 1602, Abul Fazl, one of the important Navratnas in Akbar’s court, was assassinated under secret orders from Jahangir as he felt threatened by Abul Fazl's influence over Akbar. As planned Bir Singh killed Abul Fazl. Three years later Akbar died & Jahangir became the emperor. Jahangir repaid Bir Singh's favor by giving him the charge of entire Bundelkhand & even attended his coronation in 1606. It was on this occasion that Bir Singh built Jahangir Mahal to honour Jahangir. This three storeyed palace with hanging balconies, chhatris & topped domes has 236 chambers around a central courtyard, out of which, 136 lie under ground. Beautiful turquoise tiles adorn the front wall. Two carved stone elephants guard the eastern artistic gateway with wooden doors. Though this palace was built in honor of Jahangir, he stayed here only for a night.

The Jahangir Mahal constructed for the emperor Jahangir who was a royal guest at the Orchha Bundela Court. The splendid building is square in plan and is multiple storeyed. The architecture is splendid and takes us back ulto the Opulent time of the Bundela Rajput kings.

Beautiful. The establishment of the Jahangir Mahal dates back to the 17th century A.D. when the ruler of the region Vir Singh Deo built the structure as a symbol of warm reception of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, during the latter’s first visit to the city. The entrance of the Jahangir Mahal, Orchha is marked by an artistic and traditional gateway. The front wall of the structure faces to the east and is covered with turquoise tiles. Jahangir Mahal is a three-storied structure that is marked by stylishly hanging balconies, porches, and apartments. The domes of the Jahangir Mahal, were built according to Timurid customs; its grand Iwans are large enough to accommodate the entry of war elephants, and its high position over the landscape allowed cannons superior range. On 4 October 1635, the 16-year-old Aurangzeb raised the Mughal flag on the highest terrace of the Jahangir Mahal. After the Mughals won the Bundela War in 1635, Devi Singh was installed as the new administrator, and after the deaths of the rebel Jhujhar Singh and the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, was declared the sovereign of Bundela.

I visited the place last week with my family and some relatives....it was a lifetime experience that will mesmerize me for the rest of my life. We went to this Killa around 3pm. When I saw it first time its remembered me my school history book . I read the first independent war of India. The queen Laxmi bai , a great freedom fighter, played a important roll in this war of independence against the British rule. . She sacrificed her husband, relatives and even her own life.. I saw the great bhawani Sankar cannon, baradari , panchMahal and so many architecture which all saw the Indian architect and power. .

As a kid I always loved visiting fort’s, they always intrigued me. I liked them for their architecture, history and folk lore. I have been to few fort’s before but none of them gave me the patriotic vibe like this one. One coincidence is I was their just one day before Jhansi lakshmi bai’s anniversary. It’s not long ago it’s less than 150 years she was standing tall and might against the British empire. How it would have been when in full might? But the sad part is no museum whatsoever! There is a machine gun and a canon left in the open, allowed to rust. They should have rather kept in a museum and well preserved. It would have been a heritage. Despite running late all I wished see sunset over the fort and I did. A place you shouldn’t miss if you’re ever in jhansi

Secondly if you are carrying snack packets with you then please please don't throw here n there... Please don't write on the walls of fort...

It is a magnificent fortress spread over 15 acres known as jhansi ka Qila or Jhansi fort. The fort is situated on a high hill top and it's very close to jhansi Railway station and bus stand under 2 kms & has a nominal entry fee of @25 rupees for Indians ( have to buy separate ticket for light show at night) The fort was just amazing and built with great workmanship. Overall, it's absolutely worth purchasing tickets 🎟.

Jhansi Fort is a must-see when you are in the city. I went to Jashi for my exam. When it was time for the exam, I thought a little. Then I went in the fort of Jhasi which is in the middle of Jhasi is on top from where you can see the whole Jhasi. Main highlights to see in the fort are Kadak Bijli Cannon, Ganapati Mandir, Bhavani Cannon, Spot from where Rani Laxmi Bai jumped from the ramparts of the fort on horseback, along with her son, evading capture from British forces. There are two things that are very special about fort, which is that there is a dome on which so much air is flowing that I am not aware of, which I used to call it Mini Hawa Mahal. And secondly, there was a temple at the bottom in the corner of the fort, I could not go there but it was very nice to see. It can be explored in about 3 hours But I could roam around only for 1.5 hour...but next time I will definitely roam around completely.
