A Highly 🤮 mismanaged place by the eco tourism UP. We recently visited here for bird sighting and to our surprise there were many flaws that we witnessed. 🌰 We reached there at 7 and window opening time is 7:30 however it opened at 8:15 🌰 The entry charge is fine but they are charging ₹500 for the camera. I mean with a small perimeter area which can be easily covered with foots and not a very large variety of birds still the additional charges are too high. 🌰 If you roam around the periphery of the Sanctuary the wetland are found littered with filth and animal carcass which might have been thrown by the nearby residents causing a state of distress for the birds residing here To boost Tourism and attract more diverse footfall, the government should provide aid at this place, discuss and revise the unnecessary charges which are levied on the visitors. Discussion about the expansion and betterment of the Park should be done. Focus should be made to invite more local & migratory bird to boost tourism and efforts should be made for the clean and healthier environment.

Here you will find different species of bird belong to india as well as outside of India. If you have knowledge about birds then it will bi perfect location for you. Otherwise you will get bored of it. This place is having a huge lake in the middle consist of lotus flower over whole lake. There are many sitting spaces, watch towers and dedicated path. The whole place feels like a dense forest. Entry ticket was of ₹30 and a separate fee for your vehicle. It looks like best place for picnic. Pamphlet is also available which have guide map, different attraction info and much more.

A good place to have a break with family/friends in the middle of nature. The park is quiet big so go with enough time on your hands. Just be careful of the monkeys 😀

Nawabganj bird 🐦 sanctuary is nice place for nature lovers 🐤🐥 this place is located on Lucknow - Kanpur Highway . We can see verity of birds here with lots of greenry. Best time to visit is from Dec to January because some migrated birds are visible during this time. The birds migrate across Himalayas from Tibet, China, Europe and Siberia during winters. Some of these birds fly over 5000 km and above 8500 meters high to reach here. Some of the major migratory birds during the season are greylag goose, pintail, cotton teal, red-crested pochard, gadwall, shoveller, coot and mallard. Some major local migratory and residential birds are sarus crane, painted stork, peafowl, white ibis, dabchick, whistling teal, open-bill stork, white-necked stork, pheasant-tailed jacana, bronze winged jacana, purple moorhen, lapwing, tern, vulture, pigeon, king crow, Indian roller and bee-eater. We also have reptiles in this sanctuary like cobra, viper, rat snake and water snake please beware of them while visiting and sitting on ground. We have only 30 rupees entry ticket for this place but if u have some camera than u have to give 500 rupees fees for camera. We have 20 rupees parking fees for bikes We have lots of places to sit inside the sanctuary also we have some watch towers to see the birds from height. Please avoid food items inside the sanctuary as we have lots of monkeys who are attacking people for food items in bags. It is nice place if your are looking for nature and peace as u can listen lots of sounds from birds.

Booked this place for staying one night here while on way to road trip from muzaffarpur to mumbai. We halted here for breakin journey and booked the avcomodation through UP tourism mobile app. The booking experience was good. This is a famous bird sanctuary located on outskirts of lucknow kanpur highway. To see birds and enjoy the nature , one needs to reach early as its vast with huge lake and good collection of different type birds here. The sanctuary closes for public by 5 pm. I recommend all the nature lovers to visit here and stay. The guest house room are very good, well maintained and hospitality of staff is very good.

Nawabganj bird sanctuary is located on the lucknow unnao highway and it takes roughly 1 hr to reach from iim road. It takes 2.5-3hrs to fully explore the area and thus visit it with considerable time in hand. It closes by 5 pm during summers. The ideal time to visit it would be morning to check on the migratory birds. Do not forget to take best camera with you. It is also good for a family picnic and must be explored. I recommend to carry your own water bottle and food. But do throw the waste in dustbin and not pollute the nature paradise. Must visit.

Well the very first thing you need to check before going is if it's the right season.... The walking trail is well lit under sun...so wear caps and hats... A good binoculars are must as birds usually siting very far and phone camera zoom won't cut it for a good view

Hello’s Friend’s new update here… Our Bikers group went there last Sunday with hope… To see type of birds but we disappointed… I think hardly we seen birds! There are a group of deer you can see.. A lager area to walk in only.. if I talk about the cleanness so the lake was so polluted by plastic and all was so smelling bad… Only some of area was good like the tower there you can click awesome pictures and selfi and can record videos or reels for social media.. The time of opening park is 8:00Am There are tickets for entry cost you 20/person and if you have bike with you that will 10/bike and tickets price are reasonable.. Note: beware of monkey they can chase you so be careful.. from my point of view you can go there to spend some quality time.. and if you want to see a brief video so watch my channel on YouTube that is (Xubhashsk).. Thanks

This place has a very rich biodiversity. There are thousands of trees and it is home to various insects and birds. There are deer, porcupines, and many other wild animals. There is a lake where migratory birds arrive and one can visit there with a nominal fee. Please ensure that it is a biologically sensitive area so, don't disturb the nature and animals here and most importantly do not litter garbage especially plastics anywhere in the zoo. Thank you.

I now usually visit this place for a cycle ride. But it is a beautiful Abode for migratory birds during winters. If you are a bird watcher and interested in bird and nature photography, you must visit this place especially during February to March

Nothing special here. Totally waste of time. If you love monkeys then this place is for you. There is a pathway inside the parameters of this park and this pathway is divided with another pathway. This middle path is the best for watching birds. Don’t go back part of this park there is nothing. Pond is full of unwanted weeds and plants, only a single portion of this pond is open where ducks will swim freely. Only common birds found here.

The chriping sound of the bird and the freshness of the air will make you stay longer. Good places are there for the bird watcher to wait patiently and watch the birds. Hope the government keep on doing good for this place. Treatment for water hyacinth should be done.

  • 5/5 Vaibhav S. 3 years ago on Google
Quite a serene place with variety of birds not so common in urban neighborhoods. Recommendations: 1) For birdwatchers out there, will strongly recommend carrying your binoculars and the ultra zoom lenses(500/600mm) 2) The place is quite large and tracks run many kilometres in each direction so plan for spending ample time there and packing sufficient water as well 3) Visit in groups as quite a few trails become too isolated and might be a safety concern specially if you are carrying expensive gadgets along 4) There's a nice restaurant at the gate and a children's park as well so a good venue for picnic for larger group Btw, camera charges are 500 bucks for Indian tourists.

A quaint sanctuary with a wonderful variety of birds to see during the migration season. The walking path is well built. Places to sit are strewn around liberally. The drive from Kanpur is comfortable. You may want to pack some food for the journey. Be careful not to litter and treat the place responsibly.

  • 5/5 Mithun M. 2 years ago on Google
Very nice and scenic place to see number of migratory birds. Bring a good binacular to spot them. There is a well maintained cycle track inside the sanctuary. Canteen was good but bit costly and you have to wait a good amount of time to get your order. Overall a very nice place near lucknow for a weekend outing.

  • 5/5 Gaurav M. 2 years ago on Google
The trail is very nice and serene. The weather was a little cloudy during our visit, which was favorable for many birds to be seen in flocks even in mid-day. The place is a huge water body; so naturally, most of the birds you will find belong to the category of geese, heron and so on. You must carry a good binocular with you to actually look at and identify the birds from distance. Travel in large group is not recommended to avoid distraction. This is a Best place for picnic

The person on the ticket window said that the entry is only for family and refused to give tickets. Extremely ignorant staff making up rules. 120 km journey wasted. You won't see any birds anyways. Don't go here unless you want to waste your time and money. Extremely mismanaged tourist place, have no respect for people's time and money.

The bird sanctuary is a must if you love having greenery all around you. We went off season and during the day so couldn't see a lot of birds. Wear gum boots if you're going after the rains. We went on a cloudy day so the walk was very pleasant. Good for a family outing.

It is a recognised Ramsar site. Ideal time to visit is from November to February. Recommend to carry binoculars. Open hours 8am to 5 pm. There is also a Deer park, children park with swings. Ticket cost rs30 for Indian citizens. There are many watch towers for birdwatching.

Amazing place for nature lover. It is between Unnao and Lucknow. Best time to visit is mid Dec to Feb last. For photography one must bring his DSLR with Zoom lenses. One must have Binoculars to have a clear picture of Migratory birds.

Beautiful, serene and calm place for a day stroll! Loved the ambience.. PS-"Pl note, the adjacent deer park is nice too but do not allow any official/worker to let you get some extra site for the deer to take pics or watevar..the motto of them is to take some addtnl money"

  • 4/5 Ishank S. 3 years ago on Google
Went there in December. It is well maintained and has a decent population of birds, not sure how many of them were migratory and how many were local species. If you are an enthusiast, don't forget to bring along a pair of binoculars and a zoom lens. You can easily cover the entire place within 3-4 hours.
