Motijheel
is
a
nice
picnic
spot
at
cheap
entry
fee.
Also
best
quite
place
for
morning
walk/
jogging.
Moti
Jheel,
located
in
the
Benajhabar
area
of
Kanpur,
is
a
water
storage
spot
as
well
as
a
great
sightseeing
point.
Translating
to
the
Pearl
Lake,
Moti
Jheel
also
avails
boating
facilities
with
an
array
of
street
food
stalls
and
toys
sold
at
the
entrance
and
within
its
premises.
Constructed
during
the
British
colonial
rule,
Moti
Jheel
along
with
Moti
Park
and
Kamala
Retreat
is
a
significant
local
recreational
spot.
The
Moti
Jheel
lake
was
initially
created
as
a
drinking
water
supply
reserve
during
colonial
India
by
the
British.
With
eventual
urbanisation,
this
lake
was
further
opened
as
a
public
area
that
encouraged
relaxation.
Moti
Jheel
was
also
featured
in
the
Bollywood
flick,
Bunty
aur
Babli.
Sited
amid
the
Kanpur
Municipal
Corporation,
the
Lala
Lajpat
Rai
Hospital
and
Kanpur
Development
Authority,
Moti
Jheel
currently
houses
a
green
enclosure
and
a
kids'
park.
The
expanse
of
this
lake
and
garden
is
vastly
divided
into
sections
such
as
the
Baal
Udhyan
or
the
Children's
Park,
which
is
a
Japanese-styled
garden.
It
requires
a
small
entry
price.
The
place
is
located
at
the
centre
of
Kanpur,
with
a
not
so
impressive
artificial
lake
where
you
can
do
boating
and
stuff...
But
It
is
good
for
outing
with
family
and
friends
...
Kargil
Park
is
located
in
Motijheel
avenue
(in
Swaroop
Nagar)
is
one
of
the
top
Parks
in
Kanpur..
You
can
also
find
car
and
bike
parking
(chargeable
other
than
entry
fee)
