Truly a wonderful experience. Jeep safari is only available if you have a reservation (stay) at the Dhikala forest rest house. Getting a gimps of tiger may depends upon your luck, but other animals can be seen easily, just outside of the campus. If you are interested in visiting without the stay, then the option of Canter is available for you. Canter starts from Ramnagar and will to-and-fro. Dhilala Forest house has 24 hours electricity in the rooms. Zone opens from November to June. There is a museum at the entry gate.

Corbett Tiger Reserve is one of the best place for Wildlife lovers. It is situated in Nainital district, Uttrakhand. It is well connected with Ramnagar, Haldwani. It's a very big Tiger Reserve established in 1936. Dhikala, Bijrani, Garjia, Jhirna, Dhela, Durgadevi, Sonanadi, Sitabani, Mohan etc. entry gates are there. We took One Canter safari from Dhikla gate. Canter Safari Cost approximately Rs.1500/- including Permit, Naturalist cum guide charges from Dhangadi gate. Half day morning Safari timing for 75 Km approx track -12.30 PM to 18.30 PM. Dhangadi gate is 20 km away from Ramnagar. Safari starts from Dhangadi gate to Dhikala Zone. Beautiful landscape, grassland, Ramganga River basin, Sultan Gairal Sarpaduli Dhikala Forest guest Houses are there inside the jungle. For Jypsi safari you have to stay at night inside the Park. Wonderful place to stay inside the Corbett Tiger Reserve, Dhikala zone. You can enjoy the nature. You have to pre-book this rest houses otherwise very difficult to get the booking. I have spent few time here during our day safari. Washroom, Canteen is there. You will get a very good view of Ramganga River Basin from here. I am fortunate enough to witness the grand sighting of Tusker named Laal kan with herd of 20 elephants at grassland, Sambar, Cheetal, Barking Deer, Himalayan Langur, Green bee eater, Kingfisher, Mayna, Egret, Woodpecker, Kalij Pheasant and many more. It's an amazing experience for me.

A beautiful place to see Jungle and watch wildlife in india. The landscape with the southern most ranges of Shivalik and Ramganga river is just stunning! It is home to a variety of animals including the Royal Bengal Tiger. Plenty of birds can be watched. For Birdwatching, the winter season is the best time.

Great experience. Recommended for wild life lovers. Stay is to be booked in advance on the official website. Jeep safari is also booked at that time. Good binoculars will be handy.

Dhikala is majorly grasslands, and the tiger sighting is good. In Jeep Safari, you ll definitely sight a tiger. Dhikala has lot many animals other than the tiger. Dhikala has two types of safari one is canter and the other is Jeep Safari. Canter safari can be booked by anyone, but for Jeep Safari, you have to book a night stay in Dhikala zone in Government Forest Rest House, and then only you are eligible for a Jeep safari Dhikala gate opens from Nov 15, and night stay is booked in advance a month prior at least. So if you want to do a jeep safari, make a booking on govt site and book the night stay a month before your visit and then you can avail a Jeep Safari. Canter Safari is not that great. If you are out of options, you can avail of canter, and the canter can pick you from your resort. It will take your entire day on this safari. The entry gate for Dhikala is Dhangarhi Gate. There is also one museum at the entry gate, which is very informational. This gate is around 20 km away from Ramnagar and is having very good road connectivity. Most of the resorts are on this road only.

Worst experience of safari I have ever had in India and that too after paying so much money for their premium gate. By paying 10 times more than the other gates per person, they take you in Bus safari and that too if you are going to Dhangari gate the bus is already filled with people from Ramnagar gate and you are o my going to get back seats in the bus. There is no option to take jeep safari at Dhangari gate, so I will never recommend any one to take this ticket. If time permits and you are able to get booking good night stay in Dhikala zone, then only one would go. You get help with you while you start their in the night and you have better chances to see tiger, otherwise it’s just completely waste of money and time.

Best zone to sight animals. We visited in Jan when jungle was green and beautiful, in Dhikala there are 5 different pockets where govt accomodations are available. We have to book in advance (2 months before).

Basically this is the location of Dhangarhi gate which is the gateway of Dhikala zone . We visited the zone in a canter safari .All the safari buses reach here at 12.15 pm-12.30 pm and start at sharp 1 pm for evening safari . The gate has a statue of Mr. Jim Corbett, a canteen, washroom, Souvenir shop and a museum. The actual DHIKALA FRH is almost 23Km inside forest from this gate .

How do you write a report on one of the zones within the Jim Corbett park! That said, my family and I visited this zone of the park hoping to spot the elusive tiger but were disappointed - the tigers were scared to confront humans from civilisation!! On a serious note, it’s high time the forest department got rid of the Canters used to take tourists into the Zone. They are very noisy and the suspension in most, is beyond repairs. The bone jarring adventure is not what one expects at this premium zone of the park. Keeping in mind what the central government has been recommending, the park should also invest in electric canters that won’t scare the wild life away.

It is the first zone of all zones in Jim Corbett. The whole jungle is around 1280 km. People usually give priority to this zone when you book the safari ride. I recommend you to book Forest Rest houses here which are usually booked 45 days before so that the chances are high to view the tigers. Do not book canter safari they are boring & you will get exhausted. Take a Gypsy ride instead, amazing experience. Do not forget to carry Goggles, Cap, Windshields, sometimes it is very dusty & cold while travelling.

Jim Corbett National Park, also known as Corbett Tiger Reserve, is located in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the oldest and most well-known national parks in India, established in 1936. The reserve covers an area of approximately 520 square kilometers and is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. The main attraction of Jim Corbett National Park is its population of Bengal tigers. It is one of the few places in India where you have a good chance of spotting this majestic big cat in the wild. Apart from tigers, the park is also home to other wildlife species such as leopards, elephants, sloth bears, deer, various bird species, and reptiles. Visitors to Jim Corbett National Park can enjoy various activities, including wildlife safaris, nature walks, birdwatching, and even elephant safaris. The park offers different zones for tourists to explore, each with its own unique characteristics and wildlife sightings. When planning a visit to Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve, it's recommended to book accommodations in advance, as the park attracts a large number of tourists throughout the year. There are several resorts and lodges available in and around the park that offer comfortable stays and organize wildlife safaris. While visiting the reserve, it's important to follow the rules and guidelines set by the park authorities to ensure the safety of both visitors and wildlife. It's also essential to maintain the ecological balance by not disturbing the natural habitat and not littering in the park. Overall, Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve is a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. It offers a chance to witness the beauty of Indian wildlife in its natural habitat.

Dhikala zone is considered one of the better zones for tiger sighting. It has a grass land area close to a water body, the barraged Ramganga river hence a place where sightings are likely. This zone also has places to stay the night. The zone has elephants, wild boars, spotted deer, barking deer, sambhar jackals etc. besides many birds. The forest has primarily Sal trees ΒΉ

Great place for tiger sighting. It's in the middle of the forest and has government managed accommodation. One needs prior booking which can be done online.

Lovely place but never go in canter safari . Canter safari is very uncomfortable . It is 31 +31 km to and fro journey from dhingari gate to inside dhikala . Road in the jungle is not so in good condition , and riding in the canter is very irritating . Due to the noise of canter , many animals even tigers ran away. Always go for Jeep safari and that too with mature drivers . Avoid kids and elderly people in canter safari . Though it is safe but usually very tiring journey .

Best zone within Corbett. Canter safari was good . Saw Tiger, 3 types of dear, Elephant, Crocodile from distance and 2 types of monkey. Overall nice experience. All other zones like Dhela, Bijrani disappointed. Dhikala is definitely the best zone. Unfortunately Canter safari is the only option unless stay inside the forest
