I’ve been here many times and everything I’ve ever tried was phenomenal. The food is so fresh and full of flavor. Everything is 100% vegan and most foods are gluten-free. Their cakes are delicious! We’ve brought many of our friends to this restaurant, vegans and meat eaters alike, and they all loved it. We even came to Cafe Gratitude for their Valentine’s Day dinner and we had a great time. Highly recommend this place!

Best vegan food in town. We are visitors from east cost and wanted try vegan options. We got lucky to give a try and loved it. IT’s price for sure yes it’s because vegan is not cheep in this country and organic.

Holy moly this place is legit. My wife and I wanted a lighter healthier option on vacation since it’s so easy to eat meat and cheese all the time. We picked a good choice. “Burger” at this place was delicious. My wife got the “Alfredo dish” and it was tasty as well. Great vegan restaurant

What an incredible gem of a restaurant in the crossroads! Everything is vegan and gluten free but honestly I just say it's all delicious! The cauliflower bites are making my mouth water just thinking about them, cooked and seasoned to perfection a little crisp, a little chewy and packed with flavour. The tiramisu was decadent, smooth, sweet chocolate layered in rich, nutty cream perfect to share. The I am Awake tonic was the perfect drink to pair as it's got a subtle sweetness that's refreshing and energizing. The fresh artwork lining the walls adds the perfect amount of ambiance too.

Truly some of the best food I've ever had. I got the I am pure kale salad with kimchi vegetables. I also got the I am warmhearted and the I am sensational I got the banana bread and chocolate silk pie for dessert. It was wonderful.. Our waiter Joshua was wonderful as well.. The parking is horrible but the food is the best I've eaten in KC honestly.

The menu here is 100% plant based. I ordered a toast appetizer and loved it. My main dish was nice as well but it felt more like it would have been a side dish for the price. Still very good. Love the positive vibes and friendly staff.

Listen, Cafe Gratitude made me consider giving up meat in a strong way on my very first visit. My mom, sister and I have been trying out restaurants around KC for the last couple of months, and this one quickly rose to the top for me. The buffalo cauliflower bites alone were enough to get me excited for a second visit. The staff was great, and the environment was very chill, my kind of place!

Delicious and organic food, friendly atmosphere, nice ambiance. We had great time dining here. Drinks here are organic as well which is interesting and rear.

It's so cool to have a place like this in Kansas City. I hope more vegetarian and vegan restaurants/diners become available to the area. I had the vegan omelet, which was amazing. I need to look up their menu so I can edit the names of the items that were ordered. Nevertheless, everything was delicious, and the atmosphere was inviting and comfortable.

I don't even like the layout of the restaurant. Everything I saw looked underwhelming. I ordered $6.50 Banana bread. I didn't taste the Banana in it. The texture was like chewing gum. It had a bad aftertaste. Maybe the reviewers have lost their taste buds because they chew on lettuce all day.

I absolutely loved the vibe of Cafe Gratitude, and the food was excellent to boot! I got the I Am Delightful salad, and well. It lived up to its name...it really was delightful! I loved the combination of apples, figs, balsamic, and cashew cheese. I know I'll be visiting Cafe Gratitude again before I leave Kansas City.

If you want to do something good for your body, go and have lunch at Café gratitude. One of the best vegetarian/vegan places I have been to. I love the concept, the friendliness of the staff, the idea of having a question of the day to chat about while waiting for your food. My salad was so big that I took the rest home with me: perfect balance of crunch, taste, healthy ingredients. Recommended.

This place is such a cute vegan option! The atmosphere & staff are very welcoming. The menu has a great selection & the portions are great for the price! Would recommend if you’re looking for a place that’s fresh, friendly & delicious!

I was thrilled to find Cafe Gratitude in Kansas City on my XCountry adventure this month. I tried another veg restaurant but they were closed on Mondays so thankfully I was able to use Google and search vegan restaurants around me and found Cafe Gratitude 👏👏 Enjoyed some lentils and curry and my friend really liked her Mac n Cheese Was sure to put it in my favorites and will visit again when I’m in town again for sure!

We have been eating here for years & really enjoy the atmosphere. We haven't been as often since the prices have continued to climb. Using Mac & Cheese as the standard for vegan restaurants in KC, we pay more than three times as much here for the same amount of food. The flavor is different but not better. The desserts here are better than other vegan restaurants, but expect to spend $9-$12 on a shake or $11.50 on a slice of pie. Also, recommend dine in, as the take out portions seem to be reduced.

One of my all-time favorite restaurants. I make it a point to stop here whenever visiting near Kansas City. I just wished we lived closer! Everything I've tried on the menu has been excellent and I'm looking forward to trying new items on my next trip. The one item I get on every visit is the mint chip shake!

Excellent food. As you come through the door they go Welcome! Just like the Irashaimaze in Tokyo. All menu items have positive sounding names. Recommended.

Great atmosphere. Nice vibe in terms of presentation and interaction with their customers, i.e. the question of the day and the "you are..." statements. My initial greeting as I walked in was a bit off putting, thankfully the gentleman that attended to my table was so pleasant and helpful. The menu is creative. The food was delicious and nourishing.

Everything we had was great! We had the 🌮 tacos, Alfredo and a side of kelp noodles in Thai sauce (the best!). My salad was great and the vegetable soup of the day was very good. Our waitress was Kimmie and she knew it all. If you get her, you’ll be in great hands!

I decided to give this place a go because no other vegan place was open on a Sunday. Everything is made in house which is a huge bonus. Their "cheese sauce" is pretty close to the one i make at home. I made a lot of adjustments to mine to push it a little further. The salad was really good with the sprouts. I also had a juice and it was pretty good too. Like most vegan places the prices are high but this place as the quality to go with it. Cute little location for a nice lunch date, too.

Went in to Cafe Gratitude on a Saturday with a girlfriend after receiving an email about a new dish called “ I am bold-loving-tasty” the sandwich. In part of the description they use the word BBQ which I’m not a fan of and almost deterred me from ordering….. but I love Cafe Gratitude and decided to throw caution to the wind and order it and I did. It was delicious!! I was a little nervous about the tofu as well, because I’m not a big fan of tofu. The chef at CG nailed it! It was seasoned perfectly and just a great meal. I encourage anyone reading this to go try it. You won’t be disappointed.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. We came right before close on our first night visiting Kansas City and of course they were already cleaning the grill which is totally understandable. The hostess made sure to invite us back and when we came in the following day, it was worth the wait. Both days, she was extremely kind, welcoming and helpful in her suggestions. The plant based food was delicious (I am not vegan) and the heart of the restaurant really shows. We watched them so lovingly take care of a gentleman experiencing homelessness in a way that most businesses would not. This will be my first food stop every time I’m in KC. They even have a postcard program promoting gratitude by writing out why you’re grateful for someone and they mail it for you. This place was such a beautiful experience.

Delicious vegan food! All the food is whole food based, so no substitutes. The tastes are unbelievably good, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a gourmet healthy food option. Super welcoming and friendly staff.

Honestly, for vegetarian food it wasn't horrible. It was a nice place with a cute little atmosphere but it's very crammed and not really the best place I've been to. You need to be able to have a lot of time to sit and wait. And also if you're not vegetarian or vegan it may not be the best place for you.

Great little vegan place I found via a quick Google search. Was in town for work and this was convenient to downtown and offered dine in. Staff was very friendly and the food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend it and will go again next trip

Perfect place to eat healthy and delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing. Comfortable seating. Friendly attention. They have a variety of options for smoothies, pressed juices and teas. Husband enjoyed his Chai Tea Latte. I had a green juice. Also good options for warm or cold vegan dishes. And a delicious selection of desserts. We will definitely come back.

Food was good portions were very small for the price to me & family who we're here visiting kc from out of town. When other's ordered same menu items of a different ethnicity the portions were nice and big! What ours should have been🤦🏾‍♀️first impression is a lasting one. I'll probably never go back there because of that! 😔

Our service from Kimmie was positively SUPERB! She was so friendly and knowledgeable of the products. I'm vegan but my husband is a meat-lover and if it's possible, he actually seemed to enjoy it even more than I did! He even tried kombucha for the first time and liked it! All in all we had a phenominal experience here and will be back again on our next visit to KC. Thank you for the excellent service, Kimmie!

Absolutely wonderful service. I would say if you’d like to dine in maybe get a reservation, there was a significant wait when we went and it was at 3pm. I was incredibly impressed by the gluten free and vegan cheesecake, it was so nice to have something like that available. The vibe is very artsy and welcoming

Best birthday meal! Wish we had a vegan place like this in NWA. Amazing vegan food in a fun, casual atmosphere. We tried both the juices and the bowls. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic restaurant! So glad I decided to give it a try. The menu is filled with things I've never had anywhere else. One of us had the Blueberry Rooibos Iced Tea (I Am Love) while the other had the homemade Ginger Ale (I Am Effervescent). Both were delicious, and when I asked for a bit of sweetener for the tea, they brought a bottle of liquid Stevia, which was perfect! For our meal, we started with the Roasted Sweet Potatoes (I Am Comforted). The potatoes were excellent. I found the sauce to be a bit overwhelming at times, but very good overall. One of us then had the Indian Curry Bowl (I Am Humble), and the other had the Spaghetti Squash Alfredo (I Am Sensational). I am not a big fan of spicey food, so the Curry Bowl was tasty but, for me, a bit on the powerful side. The Spaghetti Squash Alfredo is aptly named because it was truly SENSATIONAL. The sauce was rich but not overwhelming and the mushrooms added a spectacular earthiness. That dish is now among the best individual dishes I've had in KCMO. The decor is exactly what you would expect: extremely casual and down-to-earth. The quality and tastiness of the food could warrant a pretentious restaurant. I am glad to say this place is NOT.

My first time to try a Vegan place. I was blown away by the food they served. The presentation and the state were phenomenal. i can't wait to come back!!

I brought my wife in for dinner and dessert. She had been once before and loved it. Absolutely loved the vibes. My wife is gluten-free, and they were very accommodating. Most of the menu seems to be gluten-free in the first place, but they are happy to help with any substitutions needed. The food was absolutely delicious and flavor and incredibly on point. We ordered the adobo mushroom carnitas wrap, substituting the sprouted grain wrap for corn tortillas as a gluten-free option. We also ordered the I Am Reflective (Asian yam & mushroom bowl). Growing up in a Taiwanese household I can honestly say the flavor on the mushroom stir fry in this dish is very authentic. Cake of the day way Chai and lavender. Thank you café gratitude for this wonderful experience.

Being in heart of KC downtown, great location. Most importantly - Great food. We went in with limited expectation but food was delicious. Especially I Am Strong (Curry Sweet Potato Tacos) was amazing, would highly recommend. Thanks!

Looked into vegan restaurants in KC and this one showed up! Don't recall what I ordered but my dad enjoyed his tacos! This donut was the BEST the frosting on it is amazing. The matcha latte was good too. Parked about a block away and it was worth it! I think the prices were a high + the decor was cute.

Very friendly service! I was surprised by the serving size as it was much larger than anticipated. The “I am Bonita” dish is what I chose and it was really good. The variety of different flavors ultimately led me to eating the whole dish. This place is much different than your standard vegan restaurant as everything is much more earthy and organic.

Excellent service, delicious food, awesome atmosphere and antique theme. The food is delicious, freshly made and so full of nutritious flavor. I loved the menu with the names of the dishes are so creative and inspiring. I loved the meals are made from scratch. Great quality and definitely recommend.

  • 3/5 Lydia C. 1 year ago on Google
The server greeted us with a conversation starter ("what makes you perfect?") which made for a unique and interesting experience. The names of the bowls, cleansing/detox juices, and the general ambiance of the restaurant make you think of spirituality and meditation - it may be an ideal spot for you if that's your cup of tea! The food was decent but not noteworthy, though I enjoyed that the entire menu is vegan. The bowl is large enough for leftovers for your next meal.

Cleanliness - very clean Environment - ac works very well so take a sweater if you're cold natured Wait staff - very, very nice but only one person waitressing so expect to wait some time to get your food Food - I had the califlower bites and they were too spicy for me; soup of the day was really good; tumeric drink was really good I would definitely go back to try something different.

👍 I ordered a double cheeseburger and asked for how they do it without customizing it. To be honest I give it a four because of the size of the burger and price. The burger tasted good and well balanced in flavors without anything overpowering it. What makes it taste great is the flavor of the meat...
