It's very good, but Q39 is still my favorite. The beef burnt ends were juicy and not too fatty, the sausage was tasty. Corn cheese was Mac and cheese sauce with corn, pretty interesting. Potato salad was just okay, but I'm picky with potato salad in general, so it might just be me. I would go back but Q39 would be my first choice. I wasn't offered different types of bbq sauce, but overheard the options of spicy, hot and regular being offered at another table nearby. Service was really good overall, friendly waitress, she suggested changing my order from the combo pick 2 to their special since it matched what I wanted, that saved me about $2, very appreciated. Loved their pickles! Crunchy and tart!

I've been eating at Smokestacks since they opened when I was a kid. This one was the original second location and as great as the original. Then as most know it continued as Jack Stack and is as great as ever. This original location for Jack Stack was rebuilt during covid, and the new layout is excellent. Still the feel of the original with a small ramp between levels, decor. Had excellent staff, lady had been with here for 18 years. Lunch special I had was one of my choices, burnt ends. Had the cheesy corn bake and fantastic baked beans as sides. Also chowed down on the corn bread and almost forgot to het it for review and share here. One of KC's real originals.

We enjoy Jack Stack. The brisket melts in your mouth…delicious. However, the beef burnt ends were fatty and not as good as they have been. Overall still good. Just not great. My wife loved her grilled salmon salad

I've been coming here for years prior to the remodel. Nothing beats this location across the board. Jack's stack, in my opinion, has the best burnt ends and ribs with bbq sauce options in kc. Always met with excellent service! This visit we sat at the bar with Bree and ordered the taste of Kc with a Long Island and top shelf long Island. Everything was incredible. Ribs and chicken fell directly off the bone with the slightest touch. Brisket and pulled pork was incredible soft and chewy.

I've been going to Jack Stack in Martin City for 20 years and have never been disappointed. I know that the burnt ends are money, the cheesy corn is legendary, and the Crown rib is simply one of a kind. However, I got something altogether unexpected tonight... world class service. The two people that attended to our party of 12 knocked it out of the park. They were friendly, informative, and attentive every step of the way. Thank you for providing the best of food and service. I can't wait to come back again.

Delicious! Ribs, Prime rib, steaks all are fantastic. Apps & salads decent but nothing special and overpriced. However, if you like meat-then this is the place to be. Three meals, apps/salads, sides, soft drinks, cocktails with tip came to $200.

OH. MY. GOD. - this place has the best BBQ I've eaten in my life and a knock your socks off smoked orange old fashioned. I never knew about cheesy corn until this place (WOW!) and the beans were incredible too. The burnt ends had the perfect amount of buttery, melt in your mouth fat and were out of this world.

1st timer to KC (Missouri side). The one thing I wanted to try was some good local BBQ. 4 out of 5 KC residents we asked mentioned Jack Stack so the choice was made for us. It is very family oriented and have decades of hickory history (like many of the establishments in KC). Based on the pictures on the walls, the inside was renovated in 2020 but still kept the original charm. The menu covers all sorts of sumptuous appertizers, spirits, wine and, large smoked meat selections. We can't decide amongst so many great choices so we went with the Pit Master, BBQ shrimp and the gigantic "bangle size" union rings. We enjoyed the ambiance and the friendliness of our host Jessica. Unfortunately they were out of the pork burnt ends and for some reason missed our sausage burnt ends as well.

Came to this OG Jack Stack location for KC Restaurant week and was not disappointed. Clean bathrooms and well-decorated interior with fireplace. Our waiter was nice and provided good service. For example, he brought us bread for free after we asked.

We stopped here for lunch while driving through on a business trip and really enjoyed the food. I ordered Brisket, Pork Burnt Ends and Broccoli (see picture) and thought all were delicious! The brisket had good smoke flavor and was moist (although ideally I like it sliced thicker), the pork burnt ends were lean, juicy and flavorful - and the broccoli with butter was also delicious! Ribs—on point. Solid sauce, tender ribs, tasty sides. Definitely a spot to hit on a BBQ tour of KC. Next time I would probably pass on the burnt ends, they were a bit dry and chewy.

Yum!! Soo many choices! We went for crown prime beef rib and lamb ribs, traded fries for the hickory pit beans, delicious ending with carrot cake. The BBQ sauces were great. Our server, Zakeyus, was the best! Reservations recommended.

Ok, this is rated as the best BBQ in KC and this is our first time trying it. OMG, it was pretty friggin’ awesome! We had brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends, and pork spare ribs. All the meat was so good!! The ribs were so good!!! The rest was also very good!!! On to the sides. Baked beans: some of the best I’ve ever had!! Dee-lish!!! Cole slaw: this was the right amount of creamy, crunchy and vinegary!! Very, very good!! Cheesy corn: my wife and I are split on this. The reviews are like it’s best thing anyone could ever have but I was more like, meh. My wife thought it was good but neither of us right it was what the hype made it out to be. Overall, this was so more than worth the stop!! Very, very good!! We highly recommend eating at Jack Stack BBQ!!!

Good BBQ so you need to plan ahead. Very busy but attentive friendly staff! The broccoli was loved by all, baby back ribs a hit, and pork burnt ends just melted! Brisket and chicken (in photo) were good but not as smoked or seasoned as I like. Putting sauce on for plating suggests lack of flavour of the meat in my books.

Great time to visit the original Jack Stack, that's right the place where it all started from. Had a great family meal and even better service by our waiter D! He was so awesome! Will definitely be back to visit Jack Stack in Martin City!

Everything about this place was excellent from the ambiance to the food and even the wait staff. I ordered the pulled pork mac and cheese which came out in an ENORMOUS portion and was the creamiest mac and cheese I have ever had. Topped by smoky flavor of the pulled pork, it was truly an experience. I also ordered their bloody Mary to complement my meal and it was so delicious. The tomato flavor was accompanied by a slightly smoky flavor that took me totally by surprise. This delectable concoction was topped by none other than pulled pork stuffed green olives which were heaven in and of itself. If you are looking for some delucious Kansas City BBQ look no further.

Great food. Great service. Brie was a spectacular server. We had the sampler platter and every meat was amazing. Moist, hot, tasty. The cole slaw was tasty. So were the baked beans and the corn. And a couple Old Fashioned which are listed as a Family Fashioned on the menu. Good portions. Fair prices. Awesome good.

First time eating KC BBQ. I found the burnt ends a little on the tough/dry side but I had nothing really to compare since this was my first try. The Prime Rib and brisket were particularly good and highly recommended. Jessica was our server/bartender and was awesome.

For personal lives in Kansas City, this place is a staple! Their mushrooms are amazing, and nothing can beat them. Overall the thing you have to get while you're there is the carrot cake! Oh my gosh this is the best carrot cake I've ever tasted in my life! Their barbecue is always good, and the sauce they put on top of everything is amazing. I have recently gotten the pulled park mac and cheese, and it makes your mouth water after you get it. So good, and the people who work there are always nice.

Excellent food AND service!! Brie was our waitress and she has a fun, sassy personality. She provided recommendations that were delicious! ...my only complaint is that we were too full for the carrot cake, but I ate it anyway. Best carrot cake of my life!!

1/2 pound of each pork and beef burnt ends were absolutely perfect!!! Very tender melt in your mouth deliciousness. We were a little upset that they didn't offer mac and cheese as a side but the cheddar cream cheese corn totally made up for it. The cole slaw and beans were also very tasty and complemented the meal to perfection. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were on point with the refills and making sure that we had everything that we needed to make our experience wonderful. Thank you Jack Stack for building an amazing team.

The food here was amazing with courteous a staff. Love the ribs, lemonade and the burnt ends. Not a fan of the potatoe salad or the side bread but this didn’t kill the overall experience. The prices was high but that’s expected with a bbq joint. Undecided if I’ll return but this left a memorable impression.
