My husband and I were very excited for our first experience at Jasper’s and asked that we be seated in the rear of the restaurant overlooking the waterfall and creek. (I had read reviews stating the view was nice) The hostess was very sweet and accommodating and we did get to sit in the rear of the restaurant. Our server was very sweet and attentive. She explained the dishes and specials throughly, however when it came to the desert cart, she spoke so fast that I couldn’t understand what the desserts were. The highlight of the meal was the tableside fresh Mozzarella Theater where the mozzarella cheese was created in front of you. The huge, beautiful, red local tomatoes were perfect and they fresh mozzarella was to die for. The lobster cappuccino was delicious. The main entrees were unfortunately the only disappointments. Both my husband and I had Veal entrees. I had the Veal Marsala (the sauce was very good) but the veal was so tough and somewhat flavorless. One of the reasons you order veal is because it is typically tender. My husband had the Veal del Santiago (?) and it was served with artichokes and wild rice. The wild rice COMPLETELY overpowered the sauce and it was NOT a good pairing plus his veal too, was so tough that you couldn’t cut it with a fork. I’ve had veal many times and it should never be that tough. One of the reasons you order veal is because it is young, TENDER beef. This was not the case. The winner of the night was the caprese salads, the lobster cappuccinos and the lovely desserts. I will come back for those things and just try a different entree next time! There are plenty of other options! Just pass on the veal!

I really, really wanted to give 5 stars, however there were things that couldn't be overlooked. We had a party of 6 and were seated in a back room. From the moment we all sat down it was freezing cold. My Dad checked the thermostat next to our table and it was off and temp was 62. Outside temp was windy and 35 outside. My Dad turned the heat on and we waited. 2 of our party knew what drinks they wanted and the waiter took the drinks and said he would come back for everyone else. 10 minutes later he came back and we ordered the rest of the drinks. A gentleman brought fresh baked bread that was cold and the butter was solid as a rock. It tore the bread upon trying to spread it. About 10 minutes later the waiter came back and we told him everyone was ready to order. I ordered the mozzarella and cheese as an appetizer. Since my meal came with a salad he said I could sub it out. I would later find out I was charged full price for mozzarella and cheese. Had I known that, I would have asked for my salad as well since I paid full price for the appetizer. I will say, the mozzarella and cheese was on point. The cheese tasted so fresh and I found out in the summer they make it right in front of you. There was a large party in the party room and we saw our waiter helping out there and the gentleman who passed out bread was helping out as well. We finally got more bread and it was room temp and the butter was still hard as a rock since the room temp never got above 65. The chicken parmesan was full of flavor, extra cheesy and the penne pasta was delicious. My Dad was not happy the spaghetti only came with 2 small meatballs. Had he known the lasagna was going to be huge he would have opted for that. I had the coconut cake and it amazing. Lots of coconut and the creme in the middle was rich and perfect amount of coconut. We also ordered desserts to go and we later found out they were all mixed up. I had ordered the Coconut Tartufo, my son ordered strawberry cake and my mom ordered chocolate tartufo. My son ended up with my mine, I ended up with my mom and my mom ended up with mine. My mom hates coconut so it went to waste. I'm not a fan of strawberry, so luckily my Dad came by and enjoyed the cake. Overall, I was really expecting better since so many people talk about Jasper's. It really didn't live up to the hype.

My boyfriend and I went to Jasper's last night for my 30th birthday. I had been craving Italian food for the past few weeks and scoured the internet for suggestions. A dear friend mentioned Jasper's and after hearing him sing their praise, I made a reservation a few days prior. We were seated almost immediately for our reservation and had a very lovely corner near an incredibly loud table of a family of 10. Throughout the evening I had to raise my voice to be heard over them, with my boyfriend sitting less than a foot away from me. Okay, it's not ideal, but I've been in loud restaurants before! Being where we were, it felt like it took a while for our waiter to find his way back to us, the same with the young man serving bread and butter to guests. He only came by once and never again. I even asked the woman who delivered our entrees to us for more bread and he didn't make the rounds again. I suppose it was because the large party next to us had already been served and we were glossed over. Then again, on a busy Saturday night, during a pandemic - this may just be the norm here to have mediocre, slow service. We ordered ourselves a couple of cocktails, sodas, an appetizer to share, our entrees and towards the end of our meal, we ordered from the dessert cart -- I think this was the highlight of the entire night. Appetizer: Lobster Ravioli 9/10 Salad: Caesar salad 5/10 My salad had a few pieces of romaine lettuce that were turning brown. It's not what you want to see when you order a salad, ever. I separated the brown and wilted from the rest and continued. Entrees: 6/10 My boyfriend ordered the Tortellini Romano and I ordered the Linguine Fra' Diavolo. I ate more of his entree than I did my own, his dish was so much better. I've tried the 'spicy' pasta dishes now at Garazzo's and Jasper's and it's safe to say I will never order them again. I should stick to the staples and highest reviewed items. My pasta was a bit on the dry side, lacked any real flavor and had very little sauce to cover it. However, the shrimp in my dish was good. Dessert: He ordered the cannoli, I ordered the New York Style Cheesecake. I loved my cheesecake and loved the presentation of it even more. 10/10 Overall, it was a okay experience. Sadly, I was not blown away by the service received or the food. We spent nearly $200 for dinner, after tip. We both had big enough portions that 1/2 of our pasta dishes went home with us. Of course, my leftovers were because I didn't enjoy my meal very much, but I think in a restaurant such as this, you're paying for the ambiance and the mood it sets more than anything else. If that was all I was rating my birthday dinner on, it would get a 10/10, but after spending so much money, I expected incredible service and amazing food. I was disappointed when service was slow, prices were high and my salad was going bad and my entree lacked flavor. Final: 6/10 I won't be spending this much money on bad food for my next birthday.

My husband and I visited this establishment recently. The hostess set us in the most beautiful seat right next to the creek and it was adorable. Our waiter came over promptly and was very knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurants overall offerings. He made suggestions after we informed him it was our first visit. The bread and butter were delectable and our salad 🥗 with blue cheese crumbles was AMAZING! If you get the salad please by all means get the blue cheese crumbles - it truly elevates it. When we received our drinks our water glasses had large cracks in them and I noticed other diners mentioning this. I believe more attention to detail is needed in that regard. My husband ordered Shrimp 🍤 Fettuccine and Sausage and Peppers and he enjoyed it for the most part. He stated the pasta on the fettuccine was actually "crunchy" in places. It was a bit too "al dente". I ordered the Chicken 🐔 Parmesan. The waiter (Thaddeus) raved about it but I thought it was just okay. The chef/owner (not sure) came out to check on us and our food experience, which was really nice and helped to set a nice tone for the rest of the meal. I noticed the waiter being much more accommodating with other diners, explaining the seasonal options pertaining to food and cocktails. He also explained the mozzarella showcase option offered prior to the meal, if desired. Totally not worth it in my opinion and it's quite pricey for what it is. This was kind of a disappointment for us and honestly left us feeling under appreciated as customers. It also took an extensively long time to bring our check after we requested it. At the end of the meal they bring a dessert cart around and it feels like a high pressure sell event. We really didn't appreciate that. The price point is pretty moderate for this type of food. Would I return? Probably not, if I did it would be as a "carryout" customer for that wonderful salad and the bread 🍞 and butter 🧈.

Jasper’s has a nice interior, but the food was not up to par. It was a warm experience being seated by the fireplace. The waitress was friendly, but a bit forgetful. I liked the plating of the pumpkin ravioli, especially the crumbs sprinkled on the sides of the dish. However, the taste was bland. The pork chops were seasoned well, but the meat was slightly dry. The salads were fresh and crunchy but underwhelming for the price.

My family and I decided on this place for my Dad's retirement party. Unfortunately, we did not have the greatest experience like so many others have had. First, our reservation was at 7pm, but our table did not become open until 7:30. I went to the bar while waiting on our table, but only one bar tender was working. I stood there for about 5 minutes until he even acknowledged me. Then he kept serving others while I waited patiently for two beers. We were seated in the back of the restaurant which looks very different from the inside part. The back is not as elegant or nice feeling as the inside. The part that was most unpleasant was our waiter Kyle. He had a very snarky tone and cut us off while speaking. It was not just me that noticed this. My sister-in-law and brother were both very angry at how he treated us throughout the evening. Granted, I do believe they looked short-staffed, however, that does not excuse the rudeness that he displayed to us. He laughed when I thought the Italian meatloaf was one of the specials because I saw it on the menu in the front of the restaurant. He told me that was the "white trash" part of the restaurant. I found it inappropriate that he would say that about any part of the restaurant in which he worked. The salads that came with our meals barely had any Italian dressing, and they came with one baby grape tomato each. So we were basically eating flavorless crunchy water. The bread was phenomenal! I was excited when my meatloaf arrived, but the taste left much to be desired. The sauce was from a jar and was just a liquid tomato paste with no herbs or kick. I wanted a robust, chunky, and spiced tomato sauce, but this reminded me of sauce from a can of Chef Boyardee. My spouse tried it and said it reminded them of sauce from a jar of Ragu. The lasagna itself lacked any depth of flavor really. There were no herbs or spices that I could taste, not even salt. Finally, it was incredibly soft in texture all the way through. It was just mush on top of more mush. There was no bite or varied texture in the lasagna which just made it unpleasant to eat. I think it is because the noodles were cooked too long and the meat was chopped too finely. I had two others at my table try it and they agreed with what I was saying. My sister-in-law's stuffed chicken medallions had a similar complaint: there was just a real lack of seasoning, especially salt. The Sicilian potatoes were very bland and once again, lacked two simple ingredients that could have elevated them: salt and pepper. Overall, the food was just bland and not exciting, but the worst part was knowing how much they charged for all this. My one piece of lasagna cost me $21. I could have gone to Costco and bought a two-pack of lasagna that both tastes better and costs less. I am glad so many people like this place, but my family and I just did not have that great of an experience ourselves.

Dinner Club was a wonderful experience. Not geared for working people due to day and time of events. It's worth the late Monday night. Wish we lived closer

It took me way too long, but I finally made it to Jasper's Restaurant & all of the reviews & hype I’ve read here are absolutely correct. Honestly can say this dinner ranks in the top three of my life. From the atmosphere to the service, the hospitality, the amazing food, the wine… All of it 5 ⭐️! Dining out as a vegan can be difficult, but Jasper went above & beyond to make sure I had a deliscously curated meal. If you haven’t been here yet, please do so. I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait to go back! We had a bottle of wine off their summer menu. I don’t recall what it was, but it was a semi-sweet served chilled, which was surprisingly pleasant, an asparagus appetizer, table side mozzarella {with extra heirloom tomatoes for me}, the simple salad was delicious, & the star was the mushroom bolognese. My husband had the Osso Bucco {I believe that was what it was called} off their summer menu & he loved it. I apologize for the poor photos, between the lighting & the bottle of wine I was just enjoying the meal & didn’t make much effort in taking photos.

Never had a chance to say thank you to the owner. I was just a visitor with someone in the Corvette Club. Thank you for the coffee and cannolis. You are amazing!

Beautiful restaurant with very friendly staff. Our waiter was Kyle and he was amazing! He had us laughing the whole time and recommended the best dishes to try. We ordered the Scampi alla Livornese and I have no regrets. Everyone at the table wanted a taste of my sauce.

There were 8 in our party. Only 3 were able to eat their food. House salads the lettuce was bitter and tasted like it only had oil on it. Caesar salad had vinegar on it. Pasta dishes tasted like sauce was poured from a can of tomato sauce. Linguini with clams was too gritty to eat. Only thing good was the bread & desserts. Will never go there again or recommend it. Way too pricey for what you get.

What a wonderful dinner experience. Loved that Jasper stopped by to talk to us. We started out with the polenta with gorgonzola cheese and mushrooms and a bottle of Nero silician wine. Polenta was perfectly cooked and the right amount of sauce. I opted to add the blue cheese to my salad and it was perfect. The dressing was spot on and not over dressed. I had the San Marino linguini. Loved that it not only had the squid rings but also the tentacles, also had a perfect amount of shrimp and scallops. I did add red pepper flakes to it to make it perfect for myself. Pasta was perfect al dente and again not over sauced. Son had chicken Parmigiano and was very happy with it. Chicken was not dried out and the pasta was plenty. My wife had the chicken with white wine lemon sauce and capers. Came with green beans. She enjoyed her meal. We finished dinner with Italian wedding cake and a shot of homemade Lemonchello. It was a wonderful meal.

Tried this place for the first time last week. Had heard so many good things about the table side mozzarella theater. It was absolutely amazing! Best mozzarella I’ve ever had! Chef Jasper checked on us several times throughout the evening and we had a delicious meal. Will be coming back for sure.

One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. Staff is excellent, good is great, and prices are very reasonable. You have to try the table side mozzarella for appetizer.

Went to Jasper’s for a mother/daughter birthday lunch. It was wonderful! Great food and awesome service. Bella and Kyle were so attentive, friendly and very professional. Every dish was prepared with care and that was evident in the details and the taste. Jasper’s never disappoints!

We visit Jaspers frequently. The service is first class. We've had numerous waiters/waitresses and the service stands out. Second to none. It's friendly, but a whole level of professionalism you wouldn't believe. The food is fantastic. They seasonally do a mozzarella theater where they make the cheese right in front of you...it is one of the best things to try in the Kansas City area. The owner personally comes out and thanks as many people as he can. We make it a point to try as many new restaurants as we can to try new experiences, but we always come back to Jaspers. It's the gold standard for us.

I adored the food and wine! The best meal I've had in quite awhile! The restaurant could use an update, but I would say it was still pretty cozy because we had a booth. If you make reservations for a couple, I highly recommend requesting a booth!

By far the best food I’ve had out in over a year! Well worth my hour drive. As a small business owner myself I know I can be though. But the food was outstanding, service was amazing and our bill was shockingly cheap. Ask for Mel!

You really can’t go wrong with a meal here. The service is impeccable, Mel was attentive from beginning to end, helpful when picking food selections, and overall she’s just great at what she does. The heirloom tomatoes, balsamic, basil, and fresh mozzarella can’t be beat. Thanks for another amazing night with friends. Can’t wait to come back.

The food was great 20 years ago and hasn't lost a step. Had one of the best waitresses in years (McKenzie) who was ultra attentive, well versed in the menu and easily handled special requests (which were plenty). Great experience!!

Wow just wow!!! Food was delicious! Jasper came out to visit. So refreshing to have such great service with Elaine. The food was fresh and delicious. They do have a private dinning room for parties. Will definitely be going back! I highly recommend giving them a try!!!!

Fantastic people and very good food! They have the best pork chop dinner I've ever tasted and the strawberry custard cake was divine. (This coming from someone who doesn't like cake!) You also shouldn't leave without having the giant chocolate truffle filled with ice cream. The table-side mozzarella-making wasn't available when we dined but we did partake in the table-side Cesar salad dressing made from scratch. It was fascinating and the salad was the best cesar I've ever had. All in all a delightful experience.

We enjoyed a quiet welcoming lunch after a long road trip home. The staff was very friendly and especially Mel V our server. We had the caprese salad and chicken parmesan. Both dishes were winners. Then we took the tiramisu home. The decor is so interesting.

My father had been telling me stories about a great Italian place he had visited in Kansas City 40 years ago. How excited were we when we realized that same restaurant, Jaspers, was 5 minutes from our hotel! We made a reservation (super friendly hostess, assured us that our kids were welcome!). Elaine took care of us at our table. She recommended all the best dishes and was just so personable and welcoming. The food was fantastic! Plentiful warm bread, a fresh salad, and some of the best Italian food we have had in quite awhile! Jasper (junior!) even stopped by our table to say hi. We were able to look at an old menu from when my dad visited and had the Chateaubriand (for $14 a person!). Our only complaint? They didn't honor the old pricing. 🤣 Thanks for a lovely evening!
