This restaurant was very upscale. I gave it 4/5 stars because I don't think the value for the price was there. We went to 801 chop house because we had a 300$ gift card and ended up spending about 475 dollars total between me and my date. My server's name was Cord and I dont think I've ever gotten better service. We had a great time at 801 chop house, but until I'm making that 200K+ a year, I don't think I'll be going back. Sorry that I didn't upload a picture of my $90 24OZ dry aged steak and $16 side of scalloped potatoes, but by that time, I was engrossed in the environment and experience that the restaurant offered 😀

Kansas City is known for the BBQ but the 801 Chophouse was a wonderful hidden gem. After several days of business travel, and trying many wonderful places to eat along the way, the 801 Chophouse was by far my favorite restaurant to visit. Our server Zach F offered a great dining experience with top notch service. The ribeye I ordered was excellent and cooked perfectly. We also tried the asparagus with olive oil and the scalloped potatoes! Between the scalloped potatoes and the steak it was SUPER tough to determine which I enjoyed more. Try them both! The prices were comparable to other Chophouse style restaurants I had been to. If you are in the area and want to treat yourself, this was so worth the money spent.

Impeccable service and a cool "old steakhouse" vibe. But the steak was just ok and the prices are too high for "just ok." We did love the lobster bites on the appetizer menu, and actually: the best thing we had was the creamed spinach: topped with a broiled cheese armor and slightly sweet, thanks to anise seed. I'd go just for a side of that :)

We went in for the Sunday night prefixed dinner, it was our first time, and were over the moon with the quality of flavor and service. The sommelier recommended a great bottle of wine, the cocktails we tried were well thought out and balanced, and our steaks came out perfectly. I was especially impressed with the blue cheese dressing on the wedged salad, the perfect el dente green beans, and how nicely the creamy au jus complimented the very flavorful crust on the prime rib. Mark took amazing care of us even though they were having an incredibly busy night and we can't wait to go back!

This establishment takes great pride in their steaks and seafood and it shows starting with the presentation by the servers with detailed explanations of each cut. They use a proprietary method for dry aging specific cuts as well. I have to say the American A5 Wagyu and the dry aged bone-in filet were the groups favorites from this visit. Best sides - creamed corn, brussel sprouts and mushrooms Best appetizer - Lobster Bites! Very good.

The experience I had was hands-down, some of the best service I’ve had. I was with my business partner and a friend from California. He said he wanted to steak and so the first place I thought it was 801 chophouse the experience. What a second to none. It was so good my friend wanted to take a picture with the chef! If you’re in the downtown area, do yourself a favor and try out it on chophouse, you won’t be disappointed

Great meal. Great service. Prime Rib was amazing. Ask for the fresh/prepared horseradish. The horseradish sauce is bland. The loaded baked potato was also a bit undercooked but the Prime Rib covered for any misses. It was that good. My server at the bar was professional, courteous and attentive. That adds value in my opinion.

Incredible night at 801 Chophouse with our vendor! The food, service, and cocktails were way beyond extraordinary!!! The menu has lots of options for steak lovers to seafood lovers! The wine list is huge! Make sure you start with the seafood tower! It comes in 3 different sizes. This will not disappoint either! Our waiter was wonderful with our group of 6! All of our steaks and side dishes came to the table perfectly prepared! The dessert menu will not disappoint either! Even if you don’t have room, order dessert! Highly recommend 801 Chophouse for any occasion! Am not able to provide pictures of the desserts as they didn’t last long once they arrived!

Took my wife there for our 39th wedding anniversary. What can I say? It was freaking awesome! Ben our server OUTSTANDING and I would recommend asking for him if you go to the KC location, our first time at 801 chop house and his knowledge of the menu, preparation of the dishes, was very helpful in making selections of dishes that we had. Dry aged or wet he will let you know, add on to the steak he's got that, don't like a specific type of food, he won't mention it. I planned this event about a month in advance so I had a price point I was going to pay..Hang the cost cause this is really fine dining that is well worth the cost. It was Tuesday night so it wasn't busy. They decorated the table and had a personalized note on a menu. Photos while nice don't do the food justice. 20 Oz dry aged Bone in KC strip & 8 Oz wet aged fillet, scalloped potatoes, spring salad, with Key Lime pie & coconut sorbet Yes Please, Yummy stuff. Arnold said it best "I'll be back"Thanks for making it a special night.

Food and service were both impeccable! Lobster bites as an appetizer is THE best. Seared ahi tuna with veggies was great. Their Old Fashion drinks were spot on! The only disappointment was we had made reservations, but were seated in the bar area, would have preferred a quieter area for the two of us. Other than that, everything was great and we would certainly go back!!

First compliments to the chef Josue Rasado. He is a true artist with food. Crab cake was decadent and rich with flavor. The surf and turf was delicious. Can’t wait to come back from California. Great service and Steak!

The experience was substantial. The food was delicious. I had the lamb, medium rare with with stuffed baked potatoes, and some asparagus. The lamb had a smoky taste to it with some nice flavor and for dessert. I had the cheesecake New York style. Oh my God it was excellent. I would definitely recommend it.

The first time at 801 wasn't a disappointment. With a group, our server was attentive and responsive to our groups needs. Great selection of beef cuts, lamb, pork, and seafood. The sides, served family style, created the perfect compliments to the main course. But the desserts!! Wow! Exceptional culinary experience. Great wine and drink selection too.

While this restaurant wasn't quite my thing, I'd definitely recommend it to any meat lovers out there! However, if you're not a fan of meat, this might not be the place for you. Unfortunately, there weren't many non-red meat options available, so if you're looking for a spot to accommodate various dietary restrictions, this might not be the best choice. That being said, our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful, even though we opted for non-read meat dishes. It was clear that he was passionate about the restaurant's red meat offerings, but he still made sure we had a great experience.

Visiting downtown from out of state and decided to walk and pick a restaurant at random. Leave it to me to pick the most expensive one on the block! It was delicious, but I could only afford two apps and a drink. Calamari was a little mid for me. Great oysters and wonderful, straight out of a movie service, but ultimately I still kinda wish I’d kept walking somewhere else a little cheaper. That’s on me, though.

One of the best steak and lobster restaurants we have been to. The fillet mignon, green beans, fully loaded baked potato, wedge salad, crab cake, and lobster bites were fantastic! Our waiter Zack was very good. I I recommend this restaurant to everyone.

The way they cooked the wagyu is way overheated. The surface was black and burned which totally wasted the rich flavor of the premium beef. Not worth the money and not recommended. The service is good.

I am in the food service industry, just to lay that out. Party of 8 this evening had absolute top 5 dinning experiences here tonight. If you are a party of 6 or more, book a private room. The attention to detail and the level of service was of the highest level. The food is excellent, the drinks are made correctly, and the service is top notch. Thank you 801 for a truly remember full evening.

Visited 801 to celebrate a birthday. When we were seated, there were fun little birthday confetti on the table and a souvenir menu with our name on it. They really went all out and it was very much appreciated. We split a salad and then split the rib-eye done medium rare. One of the top 3 bites of steak I have ever had. Really worth the stop.

Amazing service and ambiance makes thos place a cannot miss when wishing Kansas City! The deserts, the steak and feel will leave an impression in me that will be a lifelong memory. Just asking them to showcase the meats is a show in itself!

An amazing experience and could not ask for more. Not only was the view of the restaurant and the city spectacular and relaxing, but the service was incredible. The staff was having a great time with the guests at the party and truly made it a special night. Not to mention, the food was the best and freshest food I have ever eaten at a restaurant and my guests felt the same way. I will definitely be coming back to eat at this five star restaurant.

Have visited a couple times before and would greatly recommend! Fantastic food, fantastic service, and fantastic ambience. I must admit we picked up our second order and only ordered appetizers (enough for a full meal for 2). They do not allow you to order online ahead of time so they had us sit at the bar and wait for the food to be prepared, but the bartender that attended us was SUPERB and the packaging was incredibly thoughtful. Appetizers are delicious enough to warrant our visit despite not ordering a steak. I don't say this too often about high-end cuisine -- but food and service is here is truly worth every cent.

Food was too expensive 3 of the 4 steaks were under cooked our potatoes au gratin was burnt and the calamari portion was very small for being a twenty two dollar appetizer. Service was not good our server was rude. Would not recommend.

Had an amazing dinner here last night with friends. While technically a business dinner, the chophouse made it more like family. Get the lobster bites me any steak, you can’t go wrong.
