I wanted to love Stock Hill, but the service was lacking and the food was just good. From a service perspective, all of the staff was nicer to us than our actual waiter. It took 30 minutes to put in our initial drink order. Our section didn’t seem busy, so it was a little odd that it took so long. There was also a significant wait time in between when we put in our drink order and when were able to place a food order. Our first course came within 10 minutes after putting in our food order, so the kitchen wasn’t backed up. I don’t mind waiting for food or drinks at all, but waiting to order food and drinks is a little frustrating when you have reservations. I don’t eat red meat, so there were only a few items on the menu; which I anticipated. I ordered the baked potato and a wedge salad and both were very good. My husband ordered the wet aged steak and wasn’t impressed by his cut of meat. Honestly, for the price, I would rather visit a handful of restaurants with better service.

GO HERE. We’ve been going to Stock Hill for years, and I’ve never left disappointed. One of the best restaurants in Kansas City. We went last night for drinks, and the current staff is one of the best I’ve seen so far at Stock Hill. Justin’s (the bartender) hospitality and skills were unmatched and welcomed us kindly, even though we only had a short time left before they closed. My husband already wants to go back next weekend and request him, because the drinks and vibes were so good. Rachel (the bartender) made me an amazing London Mule and really tried hard for me to find a cocktail I wanted, since they were out of the Get Swifty (which I highly recommend). Love love love this place and will be a frequent customer. 🤍

This is one of the best restaurants we have been too. The staff was amazing from the time our group arrived. We had a 4 course meal and everything was fantastic.

Its actually really hard to beat this place. First off. The restaurant itself is just beautiful. Warm.super comfy chairs .cozy. Yet still modern with a uniquely wonderful bar... Speaking of the bar... the cocktails were 5star all the way. Wine list is 5star all the way. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks are quick to the table. Drinks are also unique and seasonal. The table service is at the top level of service you can get in a restaurant. Isaac and James are exceptional. They bring a level of professionalism that makes people want to go out to eat.. Nothing ever went undone. They knew that menu inside out. And the chef was hands on with every beautiful plate of food coming out of the kitchen. Which u can see if you're facing the kitchen. They have a really cool semi open kitchen concept where u can see all the action. Not only is the food great but the presentation is unbelievable. Entire experience 5stars, hands down!

Here on a solo vacation and wanted to treat myself to a nice dinner. This was definitely a great choice as there was no awkwardness from the servers, and very attentive to anything I needed. While the steak (Wagyu Ribeye) was a bit underwhelming and not worth the price, everything else was perfect. The red onion in the Crab Bisque adds such a needed sweetness, definitely recommend. There was live jazz which made for a very relaxing evening. Ended my night with an espresso martini, and has to be the best one I’ve had. Will definitely return, just stay away from the steak even though they’ll say “it’s our specialty.”

A rock solid five of five stars. I prefer sitting over to the bar, as the ambiance is a bit more festive and warm. I found the flavors to be outstanding, and the steaks to have an exquisite char, while remaining absolutley tender; great flavor and texture in every bite. The house "triple fries" were a very good compliment to the main course. I tried a few other sides, and found them to be complementary to the main course and exquisite. If you are a fan of Ruth Crist, the Stock Hill is far better. If you are a fan of Morton's, it will feel a bit similar and special, bit Stock Hill has then beat! Quality ain't inexpensive, but the price of admission is a good value and memorable experience.

Now my favorite steakhouse in kc. My server was amazing. I let her pick everything from the drinks to dessert and she was spot on. Great to see someone who takes such pride

Dinner date with the Hubby. We had reservations so we didn't wait in line the aura was nice it has a romantic ambiance. There are multiple waiters and waitresses that continuously fill your water cup and clean anything off your table that you're finished using throughout the entire evening. Although u will have one main waiter. The food was very elegant and worth what u pay. We look forward to going again.

I thought the atmosphere was perfect. Beautiful and clean. The appetizer was delicious and the creamed spinach was also amazing and delicious. The steak wasn't that great, I have had better and was a little under medium but I was ok with it. Salad was also good but not amazing. The service was excellent. I would come back for the atmosphere. I don't think I would get the steak again.

Amazing experience. I ordered the crab stuffed lobster and appetizer was pretty cool. Who would have thought that Pork Rinds would taste great with seafood dip and tomatoes. Also, the lamb wagyu meatball appetizer was a creative treat to enjoy. The ambiance is great for a date night and the waitstaff is FANTASTIC! Dont forget to check out the live band playing throughout your meal. Definitely a place to take someone special.

My husband and I went to Stock Hill to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. It was an absolute perfect evening. The food was amazing and our servers were very friendly and attentive. I can't think of a single thing that would have made the night better. Highly recommended to anyone looking to have a special night out on the town with great food and drinks.

This place is kind of hidden but I’m so glad I revisited! It’s upscale, great service, amazing food. This is the best filet that I’ve had in a while as well as the mashed potatoes!! I will be making this one of my regular spots for sure!

Was in for a business event. It's a steakhouse, and I'm vegan, so I wasn't expecting much, which is fine. I just wanted to hang with the team, more than anything. I was asking about a salad option and what dressings were available and they asked if I was vegan, which I confirmed. They them proceeded to make and bring a full course vegan meal including dessert! They were so accommodating and it was delicious. I gave my compliments on the food, and the wait staff (also excellent) told me the chef was testing out some vegan dishes because they get a lot of requests. I gotta say, great job by this restaurant. To the chef and wait staff: thank you for a great experience all around.

Our favorite steak house in KC. Great seafood, sides, cocktails, and selection of steaks. Pictured: Wagyu tasting experience, and bone marrow + Lobster claw appetizer.

A beautiful restaurant with delicious food. The lobster bone starter knocks it out of the park. Then try the Niman Ranch steak. For something really different and delicious order the spectacular tomahawk pork chop. Server described the Iberian pork as the "Wagyu of Pork" and it was. Menu is packed with great food and the wine list has something for everyone. Best steak, and chop in an elegant setting in KC ....hands down

They made our anniversary incredibly special. The staff signed a card for us and the service was impeccable. I loved the charcuterie board. The chips are great. Definitely get the dry age steak! If nothing else, get a cocktail for the names they come up with.

Honestly, I can't say enough about this place! The food was amazing, the wait staff and bar tenders were very knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic. The atmosphere was simply elegant! If you want to treat yourself, this is the place!!

We had a wonderful impromptu dinner here and were so surprised. The service was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming on a cold winter evening. I highly recommend this for a very nice evening out.

Great vibe w/ live low-key music in bar serves as perfect backdrop for dinner. Our server, Hannah, was superb. Splurged on the A5 Japanese 8oz Wagyu and worth EVERY dollar!! I would recommend to only use the sauce sparingly (like a dip)- tastes wonderful (great Japanese flavor) but it can quickly overpower. The smoked mac&cheese balanced it out well, and the truffle fries were best I’ve ever had. Oh yes - try the Rocking Chair if you like Old Fashioned.

We came here for my husband’s birthday and we’re not disappointed. Very upscale, modern decor with a live jazz band. We were not rushed through the meal at all, we had over 2 hours to enjoy our meal. Service was great and the food was amazing. Everything, even the crackers served with the charcuterie, were house-made. My husband has the dry-age KC strip which was extremely thick and had a great flavor. I had the sea scallops which were tender and in a flavorful sauce. They brought out a lovely sparkler for my husband with dessert. Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant and would recommend it for special occasions.

Delightful in every way! First time to Stock Hill, Rachel was our hostess (a term we FAR prefer to the awkward 'server') who was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Carol had the Crab Bisque, I had the Steakhouse Wedge, we both had the Filet Mignon. Carol had the Cranberry Crisp for dessert, I wish I had the same. I ordered the Cream Cups, I liked the Cranberry Crisp better. I could not think of a way to improve on the experience!

Had a wonderful time here for my sister in law birthday. We had Gary as our waiter. He was the absolute best! He was attentive and made sure everything we needed was taken care of. He checked on us in a timely manner and made us all feel welcomed. I would definitely recommend him if you come here to eat. The food was good but him as our waiter made everything much better.

Stock Hill is the pinnacle of dining. Starting off with a complimentary valet, you’re immediately welcomed to an atmosphere of service. The ambiance is very comfortable and inviting. The food is second to none - I had the best steak of my life and even the sides were the best I’ve ever had. They basically have ruined potatoes for me because their truffle whipped potatoes are out of this world. We had a slight issue with the lobster that was rectified immediately and with a smile. It’s clear they strive for, and meet, perfection. Even the bathrooms are so extremely comfortable and well taken care of they make you want to stay just a little longer. I cannot wait to go back again.

We made reservations at Stock Hill during Restaurant Week so we could check this place out. Stock Hill came highly recommended so we were excited about his place. To start with they have complimentary valet parking and there's also a free parking garage right next to the restaurant. The staff was welcoming and the environment was very cool. Our server, Matthew, was AWESOME! He answered questions, was funny, and helped our friends choose a wine that would complement their meal. The food came out beautifully even though our friends steak was a little rawer than she wanted. Matthew was great at taking her steak back and having it cooked a bit longer. When the steak came back and was still not at medium like she had ordered they made her a whole new meal to take home. The manager apologized to her on our way out and hoped we would come back and give them another try. We told him we would definitely return! Stock Hill is a fancier restaurant that we would not typically consider, but after our experience, they have definitely made our list of return restaurants!!

A gem in KC! Situated in the Plaza area, this restaurant already boasts a location worth the trip. An elegant menu with top notch selections from meats to cocktails, and an ambiance stylishly crafted to an almost Gatsby feel. Would come here anytime for just cocktails or an incredible dinner. Ordered the wagyu ribeye and pork chop which were both excellent but the pork chop incredibly outshined the steak with the complex flavors from the gnocchi to the kale and apricot topping.

My experience at this restaurant was a bit underwhelming. A friend recommended this place to me. I liked the decor a lot. We were welcomed by the staff, it was easy to find a table. They definitely have a large selection of whiskey. Food prices are a bit on the higher side. What was weird was, I ordered the lamb as Medium. I expected the lack of ramb to be grilled. The lamb had no taste what so ever. No grill marks like normally you would have on lamb. Lamb is my most favorite meat and I have had amazing lamb but this was a bit weird. They had paneer and pakoras which is Indian style. It did not jive well with the lamb. The taste did not match well. The chicken dish was very tasty but too many bones. Portions were huge. Dessert was really good.
