One of KC's best. Sauce is a little on the sweeter side, not too much though. Food was spectacular. Not flashy. That's a compliment. Get the beans and fries.

Yet another amazing KC BBQ destination with some of the best burnt ends you can get. Sliced pork too? Yes please! And baked beans. If you like baked beans, you need to get them here. The service here is great and everything is served right out of the vault. A perfect place to get a few pounds of meat and take home to enjoy!

I've lived in KC since 2014. This was my 1st time eating LC BBQ. After my dissatisfaction with the Taste of the long ends. I know that that I'm a true outsider. Restaurant looks cleaner in 2022. Kudos to the hardworking cooks. But one lady had a boggie in her nose. Another lady had a brown tooth which turned my stomach. I ate the meat wasn't that tender.$20 fries/ long ends tasted burnt. Sauce was underwhelming So it's a NO for me.

Just close your eyes and savor the aroma of barbecue smoke before you step inside LC's. Intoxicating! Open your eyes again to behold barbecue beauty - burnt ends, baby back ribs, sides to match. This masterpiece comes in a well-used, no-frills, corner property so don't expect fancy. Just enjoy the food!

Favorite Q on the East side of town. Brisket is amazing. Plan ahead for game day because it will be busy. Rib tips are killer and dont forget your bbq beans!

There’s a reason why this place has been in business since they opened way back in 1986 and one of the true bbq destination spots in KC too! Really great burnt ends! Bbq sauce and seasoning were great too! Also love how the interior decor looks and always a good thing to see the smoker right behind the counter! Smell the smoky bbq goodness! KC bbq at its finest indeed!

During a recent road trip to the Ozarks, we decided to make a pit stop at LC's in Kansas City, MO. My friend had been raving about it, and our anticipation was high as we pulled into this charming BBQ joint. LC's exudes authenticity, and that's what sets it apart. The place has a divey, old-school vibe that instantly transports you to the heart of BBQ country. What adds to the experience is the sight of all the meats being smoked right before your eyes, creating an enticing aroma that lures you in. Now, when I visit a BBQ spot, I can't resist trying the burnt ends, and LC's was no exception. Unfortunately, this was where my enthusiasm took a hit. While there were some perfect morsels among the beef burnt ends, a significant portion of it was disappointingly chewy, with unappetizing fatty parts that were almost impossible to chew through. I was hopeful that it might have been just an off day or a bad cut of meat, but to our dismay, all three of us felt the same way about it. On a brighter note, the beans were solid, and I would definitely order them again. However, what still lingers in my memory are the fries—they were absolutely fantastic and worth a return visit on their own. From what I've heard and observed, the real winners at LC's are the BBQ sandwiches, which, unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try. One thing you can't overlook at LC's is the portion sizes—they are enormous, some of the biggest I've ever seen at a BBQ joint. I would recommend LC's for the overall experience and the generous portions. However, I'd advise avoiding the beef burnt ends to prevent potential disappointment. The atmosphere and the aroma of smoking meats make LC's a unique and inviting BBQ destination worth a visit when you find yourself in Kansas City.

👎 First time visit, I ordered a turkey sandwich and a full slab of ribs. I asked the hostess the difference between a full slab and long ends. She responded that the short ends have more meat than the long ends and being hard of hearing I was trying to figure the cost in my head, because I thought she said $38. Just to verify I asked if she said $38 which she replied no $58. I questioned the price and she informed me Turkey sandwich, full slab, and short ends is $58. I replied I didn't want the short ends and she said there are no refunds. I said I hadn't got my food yet please give me a refund for the short ends and she said she wouldn't. The people behind me then offered to buy the short ends which I agreed. He paid the cashier $20 and the cashier gave me $5 in return and the gentlemen behind me said that's my $5, now the manager is involved and she gave me $10, I said that is incorrect the short ends are $15 and you gave me $10, she then corrected herself and returned the $15. After getting home and opening the rib box I was Highly disappointed, has to be the smallest full slab of ribs I ever purchased. I will not return to a place that adds to your order and explains their mistake by saying no refunds, didn't matter that at that time I hadn't received my order yet. 👎

Hole in the walls places are special… and hole in the wall with giant grease layers of blackness to house the bar-b-q is another level of special. The staff has a little old time edge… and air of confidence of knowing themselves and each other. The people there didn’t mind the insults thrown at each other accordingly and reacted with good playful joy to compliment - I love people who don’t take themselves too seriously; let the food speak for itself. As a burnt ends lover, I took a half and half. The beef burnt ends was likely the best I’ve ever had! What made it special is that they had portions of crispiness (where many other establishments would make it too dry) as well as fat, softness and moist all at the same time. The beef was better than the pork - not to insult the pork, just that the beef burnt ends are things that the gods would be proud of.

Absolutely loved this place! It was my first time trying authentic KC BBQ and it did not disappoint. Everyone in my group was thrilled with the quality of the food and we talk about going back once a week! The Ham, Baked Beans and fried mushrooms were out of this world!

The BBQ is fine. The burnt ends are relatively tasty. But they are not what you write home about. Everything is perfectly serviceable but it's not transcendent, which is possible. The pork sandwich is sliced. The burnt ends have a meat to gristle ratio that is unfortunate. But the slaw... What is happening here is unmentionable. There are red peppers and something sort of fruity that leaves an after taste that takes you right out of anything enjoyable about the entire experience. The slaw cannot be salvaged and it's practically a crime. The restaurant puts forth a great experience and vibe that makes up for a lot. The staff is amazing and the smoker is up front and impressive. They the pull the meat off as you order it, but I was hoping for more.

The food is so delicious. It's been years since I tried LC's. But that legendary smoker does not disappoint. Rumor has it that it's been burning for decades. Never going out and you can tell. The meat is so good and smoky Also theyve redone their sauce. It's so delicious. LCs is one of 3 Black owned bbq places that's been here for years. Customer service is nice. The only thing is they don't accept certain debit cards which is weird. But other than that. Glad to see them hanging on. Between them and Gates, Kansas City BBQ lives on. You will not regret it.

Excellent stop on the BBQ trail! The pork sandwich was a double decker and was well worth it. I ordered the jalapeño poppers as an additional side and it came 14 to an order 14. At other places for that price, you may get 4. Fries were flavorful. Pork had a nice smoky flavor to it. I’m giving it a 8.7/10 rib bones!

Authentic no frills KC BBQ, one of my favorites. Lots of excellent BBQ to choose from in KC and this is a place that should be on everyone's list.

Have you ever been to an old-school BBQ restaurant that had the wonderful smell of smoked hickory when you walked through the door? If so, you know what I mean when I say that you will smell like a wonderful hickory BBQ pit until you bathe and change clothes. LC's is that kind of wonderful! BBQ just isn’t the same unless you smell like BBQ all day. The food has the best mouthwatering flavor here in Kansas City. It leaves your taste buds craving more and more. I enjoyed every bite of my pork and beef combination burnt ends today at lunchtime. Honestly, it was more than my stomach could hold but I continued to pack it in along with some coleslaw and giant sized french-fries. They were very (Like very x1.5) generous with the serving size. I was impressed! I eat BBQ everywhere and LC’s has the biggest portions in my opinion. Don’t expect anything fancy. The air-conditioning does an amazing job on a hot day. There is room for about 35 guests. Order at the counter and have a seat. They will holler for you when your order is ready. My order was ready about one minute after I filled my cup with soda. Parking wasn’t a problem. There was a limousine here today with a group from Las Vegas and I know of another group here from Oklahoma. It is like a tourist attraction with people traveling great distances to get a taste of KC BBQ at LC’s Bar-B-Q in Kansas City. Be certain to come here starving with an empty stomach. You will need the space.

They smoke the ribs right inside! And oh, what a great smell that hits when the door opens! We tried both pork and beef burnt ends and they were terrific! The baked beans are the kind they include some of the barbecue pieces to make them more than just beans. Wow. It's a paper plate restaurant. Loved it. We ate inside as there was room at 3pm but one of the locals said that around meal time the line goes out the door and cars are parked for a long ways along the street for take out. It is worth it. Great BBQ!

Some of the best barbeque I've had, stopped in on recommendation of a few people after our Arrowhead tour. One of the guys there said the mixed meat sampler would be enough to feed 2,he was right we took the rest home! A small place that you might drive by, but you will miss some of the best BBQ if you don't stop!

I got a full slab of ribs and an order or baked beans and a couple of beers. The people were nice in the restaurant and it was easy to order and the food was delicious. I left the restaurant and for the rest of the night I smelled like a bbq. Definitely a top ten bbq joint in KC.

Amazing food! I said it was the best BBQ I’d ever had; my husband thought it was a little too salty. We agreed that the pork and baked beans were highlights. Friendly service, cleanish bathrooms, and just as advertised, a no-frills dining area.
