We went there for Brunch and this review is based on that experience. The restaurant atmosphere was great and the space was really inviting and warm. The service was solid, and the staff was nice. The food however… We started with soups and they were a lemon artichoke and duck soup that tasted amazing. Unfortunately two of us found bones in it that were dangerous and very unappetizing. The gravy that came on the biscuits was bland and lacked any real flavor, or at least pepper. The side salads were uninspired, just lettuce and vinaigrette. My spicy Chicken Sandwich was not good. The chicken was greasy and bland (no spice at all) and the coating came off immediately. the whole mushy bread mess fell apart the second I tried to bring it to my mouth. The coffee was phenomenal at least. Overall a below average under-seasoned meal with some potential huge health disasters with the duck bones. For the price we paid for Brunch, the meal did not come close to the experience you would expect.

Went for brunch. Lovely indoor and outdoor space. The brunch drinks were nicely done and refreshing! I thought the menu could have had a bit more depth to it. Nonetheless we ordered our food and it was good, not great. I think they were having an off day. Will try again after seeing all the positive reviews. Hopefully it was just that. The banana cream pie was very delicious!!!

Wow the goat cheese honey appetizer was flavorful. The shrimp and grits was one of the best I've ever had. It was quite loud in the restaurant, we were there at 5:30. However, I really loved this restaurant and would totally come back.

The food was so delicious that I forgot to take some pictures of the plate! Everything was delicious. Shrimps, dumpling, burger and the pie were amazing. You cannot leave without having one of those pies. The cocktail was great. The selection of wine has variety, and match well the menu. I highly recommend this place!

Had brunch today — Brisket Hash was fabulous. The next table over had French Toast with fried chicken and that is what I’m having the next time. Also the screwdriver was make with freshly squeezed orange 🍊 juice. Nicely done!

The quality of both food and wine was outstanding. Our waiter's knowledge about the menu was commendable, and I'm delighted I followed his recommendation and went for the beef ribs - truly an incredible choice that elevated the whole dining experience. A standout feature was their impressive wine collection. Particularly, their selection of organic wines - a taste that left a lasting impression. It's refreshing to see a restaurant like RyeKC offering high-quality organic options to their guests. For anyone in search of a restaurant that seamlessly combines delectable food with a refined selection of wines, RyeKC is a must-try. A dining experience to remember.

Oh my gosh, the house rolls with butter~ Hello! Very good, a must do. Great dinner menu, and the desserts are so yummy. You have to check it out. I was very pleased 😁

Seriously great food here! Chance was the name of our server and he was very kind and steered us in the right direction for all! I've been a BIG fan of Blue Stem's their previous restaurant of note, so of course I would love this place, unfortunately we were just a bit too tired to enjoy it, so sorry. But we'll be back one of these days! Only criticism....very loud! Needs more sound insulation, we actually felt like it attributed to making us feel ill on Saturday early evening. Fried chicken was excellent, I only had a few bites, shrimp and grits are very good, a great recipe from Blue Stem's kitchen unfortunately I just felt like I couldn't eat it. The Salmon Toast was an Excellent appetizer we shared, part toast, part salad- very good! My husband ordered the Skirt Steak he couldn't eat it but we enjoyed it later and it was great!!! He enjoyed the soup and salad while there! My friend also enjoyed the Fried Chicken!!!!

All the food I've tried tastes fantastic! Highly rec their Brisket Burnt End Hash and Shrimp & Grits. Their pies are delicious, but expensive ($8.95 a slice!) Customer service varied during my visits, but nothing terrible. Lots of outdoor seating available with a nice view of a lake.

We just left dinner on a Saturday night with a 6pm reservation. Service... Prior reviews had us worried about service. We lucked out! Shelby was amazing. Quick, efficient, great recommendations. We were in & out in an hour. Atmosphere.... This place is loud. For the high per plate cost, we expected somewhere a little more upscale. Drinks... Rose sangria was ok, nothing to write home about. Food... Fried cheese curds & ranch were great. Trout & green beans were really outstanding. Hangar steak was cooked perfectly but had zero seasoning. Fries were maybe the highlight. Would we go back? Probably not. The cost doesn't warrant the food quality & loud atmosphere.

Fantastic service, great food, amazing drinks. We came on a Friday night and had no issues parking. We were ten minutes late for our reservation and didn’t have to wait to get our table. Atmosphere is quaint and although it’s family friendly, I would caution bringing loud/rowdy kids.

Perfect place to have a NYE dinner. The lobster special and the KC strip steak were excellent and service was great. It’s an interesting atmosphere that is both comfortable but nice. It was very busy, but there was no problem hearing the people at your table. The prices are high, but in the end it was worth the experience.

Everything they served was delicious! The ambience of the restaurant is very nice. We started with an appetizer of sliced meats with homemade pickles and whole grain mustard. We had a wedge salad topped with bacon, egg, blue cheese tomatoes and homemade buttermilk dressing, this salad was absolutely delicious. My wife had the squash soup which had a sweet flavor which she loved but was just ok to me. The 35oz tomahawk ribeye steak was amazing, cooked medium rare and full of flavor! The side dish was carrots that had smoked honey, harissa spice, and toasted almonds. We both agreed it was just ok. The spice tasted like a chili powder and paprika mixture and I couldn't really notice the smoked honey. Overall, it was a great meal and experience and would highly recommend this place and will be back to try something else like the fried chicken.

Beautiful environment. Amazing service. I had the house salad, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and the chocolate Mokan pie. The chicken was crispy on the outside with a juicy center. It had a nice flavor. The mashed potatoes were very thin. The Chocolate Mokan pie had more nuts than anything. Our server was outstanding and made our large group very comfortable. She took extra care to recognize our birthdays.

The fried chicken was very small pieces. while a nice crunch did not have any flavor. The server did not come around much, but gave us our entry when we were only half done with our salad. It was pretty cold by the window.

The lunch steak and wedge can't be beat. The cocktails are top tier as well. My favorite place to come with my dad, a great environment!

Farmhouse vibes, casual fine dining. The "bacon" in the chicken and dumplings entree are succulent little morsels of ham. I reached for a spoon to drink the beautiful broth. Very warm and memorable meal.

I made reservations for 4 people but had to change it to 7. Their website didn’t allow me to choose 7 just 6. When our party arrived the host at the front was a kind gentleman. He greeted me with a smile and told me not to worry he will set up our table. The food came out fast and fresh. Our waiter was engaging and she checked in often to make sure our drinks were filled. I ordered the Blackened Salmon Burger. It was delicious!! I definitely will be back! Thank You.

Went here on a advice and glad we did. No discount for veterans (😢). But amazing food. Everything we had we cleaned the plate. I would highly recommend! I will go back when I am around this area

Some of the food here was EXTREMELY good, even if it was overall a little overpriced. However, I ordered the Dry Aged Ribeye, which comes in at over $70. I ordered it medium rare. What I got, was a steak with so little pink I would almost have called it well done. The dry aging process that had been used clearly needed some work. It was more like they just put some steaks in refrigeration for a little longer than usual and cooked them. It was fairly tough, and the flavor was off, but not in a dry aged way. That was very sad as I absolutely love dry aged steak! I wish I had taken a picture of the meat cut, but that didn't dawn on me until now, as I'm writing this review. I would probably come here again, but after my experience along with other reviews here, I'll never order their steak again as they clearly do not know how to cook steak properly.

Great brunch this morning at Rye in Leawood, KS. The food was outstanding and it was a very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. Abby C was our server today, and she was amazing. The restaurant was crowded and I'm certain that she had other tables, but she made sure that we felt like her only table. She was personable, informative, and patient with us and hopefully her manager reads this, because she's absolutely a keeper!

Worth a try. Been here a couple of times now. Tried several steaks, but the Filet mignon really stood. Their fried chicken is not that great; Very mediocre! Overall, I find it difficult to describe Rye. It doesn’t seems like a fancy restaurant compared the rest of KC top restaurants—but its prices are. It’s missing a personality.. it’s not special for anything 🤷🏻‍♂️!

I really wanted to like this place. After all, it has a nice bar, plenty of outdoor seating, and a nice vibe. However, they really missed the mark with my main dish and the cocktails. I ordered the trout, which was was unusually fishy, heavily buttered and salted, and although presented nicely, was completely unbalanced and not delicious for $29. Thank goodness for the accompanying a green beans, which were great and the only reason I didn’t return the dish. The cucumber gimlets were prepared syrupy sweet. Boo. The only saving graces were the appetizers and dessert. The goat cheese and the blistered peppers were excellent. The coconut cream pie was great. The coffee was only average, as was the service. Overall, there is much better food and service to be had in this area for the price, which is exorbitant at Rye, considering what was delivered. This was my second time here, and I’m afraid I will not be back to give them a third chance, not even for over-priced pie.

A HUGE thank you to Rye. My daughter and I had dinner at Rye Jan 5. Our experience was fantastic. Service and food were spectacular. I inadvertently left my credit card behind at the restaurant. When I discovered the missing card, I called and Rye had my card in their safe. I so appreciate the care the staff took to see that my card was returned safely!!

We ate lunch today off the restaurant menu. I selected the chicken and my boyfriend had the vegetable omelette. I asked about getting all white meat and I was told there are no substitutions on restaurant week menu items but I would get a breast and either a leg or a thigh. I said ok. When our food arrived at the table. I had 2 wings and a thigh, mashed potatoes with gravy and no salad. My boyfriend had his omelette French fries and no salad. When I asked the server about the salads, she said maybe they ran out. (!) This was after we had finished eating, the first time I saw her. Then she said she could go get us a salad and I declined as we were ready for pie. I saw other plates being delivered as we left with 2 large pieces of chicken and mashed potatoes & salads. The pie was good. Overall, not what I expected from Rye.

First time eating here and what a treat it was. Our server was very professional and attentive. The whipped goat cheese was surprisingly sweet but very mild. I had the fried chicken and she had the filet mignon. Both were very good. If you're looking for a nice night out and have some extra money to spend, I would recommend Rye.

Met a friend for a Saturday morning brunch. It was pretty quiet inside, but lively outside with a great atmosphere. We made reservations but not needed within an hour or two of them opening on Saturday. I ordered the huevos rancheros and it was incredible! Just the right amount of food and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend visiting here.

Good place to have brunch/lunch where you can sit inside or at the patio area. It was a farewell so few of us spent 3.5 hours there, longer than most customers would normally do. Our waiter was friendly and food was ok. I ordered the pecan fried chicken and French toast. Food was presented beautifully and we enjoyed the food. When one of the waiter was preparing all tables for dinner, he laid the small candle in a jar heavily on our table and walked away. I thought that was a bit rude. We tipped well and I don’t think I would appreciate that kind of manners. Overall it was still a pleasant experience and that was why I gave 3 stars.

Ordered drinks at the bar while we waited for a table. Didn't take long to get seated, but our server was a bit slow. From beginning to end. Additionally, was not happy about food options not being able to have any substitutes. Natalie, our server, said we could only take out food items but not add? Leaves no room for vegetarians to be satisfied here. Drinks was decent. I absolutely hate when restaurants pre-mix mimosas. They will always taste flat. Same as drinking bare OJ. She corrected it for the last round, but just a bit too up tight for my morning greeting in KC. Food was okay. Server just weak. Probably will skip for other options in the area.

I like Rye. It's not pretentious, it's fairly simple and delicious. Slightly elevated American fare. I usually have an amazing waiter or waitress no matter which location I go to. The pies are the standout here.

What a great spot! The best fried chicken, hands down. They have pies and cakes and ice cream. Their cocktails are amazing; do try their barrel aged Boulevardier. The service was great. The restaurant is charming.

Coffee was served in a dirty cup. Like the dirt had to be scratched off with my nails. It was on the inside of the cup so I didn't see it until I drank 1/2. There was quite a bit so they must have poured it in the dark. Server was pretty nonchalant about it. I had the Rye Breakfast---ok at best. Patio is amazing! If we return it will be to enjoy the patio. We would just do an appetizer as our experience today has let us know we don't want to invest too much in their food.

Good food, good service. Steak was very well cooked and seasoned. Right at the medium rare I ordered. Salad was pretty fantastic, the dressing was great and the lettuce was NOT iceberg (I've encountered it surprisingly often at upscale places). The drink was too sweet (Tequila Mockingbird) and didn't taste alcoholic at all. Overall, pretty good. I think the prices could be a lot better, so I'm giving 4/5 stars.

I had heard good things about the brunch at Rye so my wife and I gave it a try. We shared Eggs Benedict and the Hangar Steak. Each came with a salad and a tasty green dressing. Both meats and eggs were cooked just the way we ordered and you could tell they were sourced quite fresh. I give 5 stars for the food and atmosphere, however the service was just adequate.

"Take it by fork" a unanimous piece of advice from a table of 5 women eating every desert in the place at 3pm on a Friday afternoon! The workers have come and commented on our style of eating cake with joy and awe, we have 7 plates of desert items and an entire cake piled onto the middle of our table and have forgone all other utensils, using our forks for everything including the cake. Feel free to come, we highly reccomend the desert and the staff were so kind and happy to help in our shenanigans!

Love sitting on Rye’s patio on a beautiful day! Took my hubby for a late lunch and we had the salmon and the strawberry and beet salad with grilled chicken. Both were great! Huge portions but too yummy to stop eating! Great service too! 🥰
