Great food. Always crowded in a good way and the line goes quickly. Tried Ham/Cheese beignet and apple bacon brie. Both delicious. Took home a 6 of sweet. Amazing when it's fresh...not a take home eat later snack.

Every visit to Kansas City, MO, I find myself drawn to Beignet. Located in the historic City Market, Beignet is a popular destination for those checking out the farmers market. On nicer days, especially on the weekend, you can expect a line out the door. The menu is filled with Louisiana classics. You can get a savory or sweet Beignet or go with the traditional Beignet coated in powdered sugar. They also offer some heartier meals, my personal favorite being shrimp and cheese grits. In all honesty it’s the grits that draw me back. The food is made fresh and you can tell simply from the taste. They offer counter service and seating is pretty limited but don’t let that stop you. You’ll be happy you made the choice to visit Beignet.

The food was very tasty. The shrimp and sausage gumbo was full of flavor in every bite. The beignet was very fresh and piping hot when we got them. There were dozens of variations and sweet sauses to try.

We LOVE beignet! This little spot in the city market makes delicious sweet and savory beignets as well as other delicious Cajun food. It’s a quick service spot with only a few tables and chairs but there are more tables around the city market if it happens to be very busy. Honestly the bread pudding- called pudding Juanita is our favorite dessert in all of Kansas City. It’s magic.

First time here and it was amazing. Love love the beignet! Had the Po boy. We got the mixed berry as a dipping sauce highly recommend! They have so many options! And their tea is amazing!!!! I do a blend of a few different ones. The place looks so authentic. Staff is super friendly. Place is clean.

Pretty cool spot. The food is okay too. The decor really leans to a down home, Louisiana mom-and-pop diner. The food is good and it's a different vibe for the Kansas City area. I'd say try it out for yourself if you're exploring the Kansas City River Market area.

A City Market staple, Beignets is a fantastic option for breakfast, workweek lunch, dinner, delivery, take-out, or even catering. Classic Cajun food, my personal favorite is their jambalaya with chicken and sausage. One of my best friends often craves their shrimp and grits. If you're really hungry, their seven-cheese macaroni is super delish. I tried the Waldorf Savory Beignet and it wasn't for me, but be sure to save room for their traditional beignets and don't sleep on the dipping sauce! One time at work we ordered Beignets for an overtime dinner and we got a tray of traditional beignets with ALL the dipping sauces - it was seriously heaven. Beignets are perfect for any party! Like most restaurants located in City Market, their space is small and fills up quickly during peak times, especially during nice-weather market weekends. But I appreciate their additional "outdoor" seating (underneath/within the City Market enclosure). The staff has always been kind to me. I love the eclectic space that fits the vibe. All-in-all a must-keep establishment for KC.

I had the Big Easy dish & beignets with the lemon berry cream sauce.
