THE MOST AUTHENTIC ITALIAN PIZZA I FOUND. I get it, New York pizza it’s a thing in this country but I miss my Italian pizza from Europe. I was so happy when I found this place so we came to taste it. It was so perfect! We ordered the vegetables ones and the ricotta cheese one. Both extremely delicious! This is my new favorite place for pizza here!! I’ll keep adding photos 😍 My only tiny “but” would be how they add the spices like fresh basil before baking and they burn it a bit. Leaves are supposed to add after baking the pizza.

This was my second visit here. The first time I grabbed a pepperoni pizza to-go with some spicy honey. It was to die for and I couldn't wait to go back! I stopped in again today to treat my kids and ordered caprese for an appetizer, pepperoni pizza, and Caesar salad for our meal. The wait was a bit longer than expected, but the food was good. The pizza was a bit floppy this time around, but it still tasted great. Will definitely return.

Pizza done right in a proper Italian pizza oven with an incredible downtown setting. Sometimes you need that special type of handmade tossed in the air and slathered with that beautiful white or red sauce then this place has what you crave. Absolutely fresh ingredients and quite a few combinations off menu to please any eater. Good drink menu with a few house creations if you're in the mood. I had the House Negroni and the La Rughetta from the Bianco section and both hit the spot

Really tasty pizza and authentic-feeling vibe. The enormous pizza oven is fun to see. Shout-out for having a vegan-friendly pizza on the menu ("vegano" no cheese). I have been back, and I will go back again soon!

Best Neapolitan pizza in the area. Charming, historic building right on the street car line. Both inside and outside seating areas. Rotating drink selection makes finding the perfect beer or wine a breeze. Every pizza we have ever had here has been excellent.

We got a carryout pizza from Il Lazzarone to take to a nearby brewery and couldn't have been happier with our choice. It was a convenient, portable option for 2-3 people to share. We tried the Vegano pizza rossa and everything on it tasted freshly prepared and perfectly proportioned to the other ingredients. It had artichokes, brussels sprouts, onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes. The crust (my favorite part) was light, airy, and crunchy. We will be back.

I have gotten pepperoni pizza to-go here twice. The first time, the pizza was quite salty. The second time, it was great, not salty at all. The pepperoni also has a nice flavor to it. For some reason, the crust always has burnt spots on it, which I do not care for. But all in all, this is good pizza. I still think I prefer Spin Pizza, but Spin can also be a little too salty, so it is a close match between the two places. I wish they also had more dessert besides just the Nutella pizza here though!

Service was great, drinks were cold and food came out reasonably fast. They were kid friendly and able to cut my littles margherita pizza up into smaller pieces and it came out first. Would recommend this place if in the area.

I had a friend recommend this place and I’m so glad we got to try it. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food came out fast but that was probably because they weren’t very busy. It was so good we barely talked in the 15 minutes it took us to devour these two pizzas. Will definitely be going back soon

I finally was able to pop in and knock this artisan pizza spot off my list. Priced at about $15-$17 a pizza, kinda steep, but when I took my first bite, it was real, this pizza was made with love. I went with a white sauce pie. The CREPA. Added pepperoni and sausage and made sure to only have half my pizza blessed with the balsamic glaze (just in case they put too much for me). The pizza was AMAZING and next time I'll be sure to glaze the whole thing.

Best pizza in KC. caesar was 9.5/10 super good, drinks were superb. The service is always amazing. Do yourself a favor and get a pizza w red sauce first, and then get a white sauce pizza next time or as an appetizer. Crust has perfect leopard print letting me know it was cooked at the perfect temperature (800+) just fantastic. Just wonderful. My friend said it was top 5 things they've eaten in their life.

Some nights🌙, the best thing for your soul is to curl up with your fave comfort food and sip a glass of 🍷 vino. Heading up the hill to Il Lazzarone Pizza🍕 at River Market, I head straight to the back bar. The industrial, semi-goth style feels right: I'm here to feel nurtured while pretty much keeping to myself. Once again, the pizza hits its mark: it's that perfect blend of salty, chewy goodness I seek. Thankfully, my emo sensibility got what it sought.

Our waiter was kind of awkward, but the pizza was delicious. The one thing about it being so thin is that it cools quickly. The pizza with red sauce could have used a little more sauce, but other than that they were great. They have a nice outdoor seating area too.

This pizza mountain is brought to you by Il Lazzarone! The staff was wonderful to us and the pizza was so dang good. The Nutella pizza is a sweet way to end the meal!

Downtown to enjoy the sidewalk chalk art festival in the River market area and ran across this jewel on the way back to the car. Initially, we were a little disappointed to be “banished” to the back bar area as there appeared to be plenty of seating in the front. Well, it was our lucky day as it was way more fun back there with wonderful service, great music and atmosphere. We ordered a couple of pizzas and drinks and everything was excellent. We would make the trip down here just for this restaurant and plan to return.

Il Lazzarone has the best pizza in Kansas City HANDS DOWN! This is the best Neapolitan pizza I've had since I last went to NYC (just as good as Lombardi's). The crust is just perfect and the meats and sauces are perfectly done. It's never as good as take out so im glade that the pandemic is getting better so that we can start going back. Just know that their patio isn't always open so call ahead to find out.

I'm glad I found this place really close from the river market. Pizza is great, trust me I was born and bred in Italy, they also have a good selection of cocktails and beers - including a nice Menabrea that pairs perfectly with pizza. I'd love to come back and try more of their pizzas.

We are verified NYC pizza snobs. We make our own pizza at home at least once a week. Creating a delicious pizza is definitely a Culinary Art. Come eat here if you want to experience that art: pizza created with care and intention. Since it's an open space, you are able to watch the chef prepare and cook your pie. It's a real technique, and while in the wood fired oven, the pie must go on a specific spot then be attended and shifted etc. I loved being able to see the process! The crust was *perfection* and the toppings were just right, not too much and not too stingy. It was all just so Right. 🥹 Madi, (hostess & server) was radiant, very friendly and attentive. She greeted us with such a big smile.💎 We were the only customers and usually that's when you kinda get forgotten, but not with Madi! I would assume everyone here has the same vibe and I'll definitely be back to find out for sure... And did y'all see that outdoor section?!

The location is so peaceful and quaint. Service was a little slow but nothing to complain about. We loved everything we had and it was perfect for our date night! We will absolutely be back.

The best pizza I've ever had. I'm still dreaming about it. I ordered the Crepa pizza and it was dreamy. One of my party said it's comparable to pizza he's had in Italy, very authentic. The restaurant itself is unassuming and simple, not "date night" fancy in style. There's a cute little patio for outdoor eating.
