Such a special evening. The cocktails were perfect and coming from SF, hard to find fresh oysters. Farina has you covered. Octopus was a tad salty, but forgivable. The olives with bread were marinated with turmeric, tarragon, cumin, and more. So good. The lobster Wednesday pasta special? Perfection. The special ingredient to this perfect birthday meal was Ali, our server who caught every detail, knew every dish, and was genuinely welcoming. Will be back.

I really enjoyed my experience at Farina. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were excellent. The whisky sour was outstanding. The grilled octopus was ok. The corn & shrimp agnolotti was impressive and the bolognese was solid, while it lacked salt. The star of the show for me though, besides the agnolotti, was the plum trifle! I will be back to try the ribeye and risotto 😎

Had an amazing date night there tonight. Everything from the drinks to the dessert exceeded expectations. We had the duck meatballs, shared the potato gnocchi with braised rabbit. My date had the stuffed veal chop with prosciutto and onion rings and I had the Michael Smith pork roast with saffron risotto. I just can't explain the level of deliciousness! The service was incredible and provided an enjoyable atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back! The BEST Italian restaurant in KC!

We loved our dinner at Farina! The You Apricota Be Kidding Me and Old Fashioned cocktail were delicious. We had the seasonal asparagus salad (delicious crunch with pistachios), lemon creste de gallo (favorite) and bucatini carbonara pasta. Finished the meal with the layered coconut cake - amazing. Save room for dessert!

Farina exceeded my expectations! Service was prompt and personal and anything we tried on the menu was spectacular. The pastas we tried pushed our (limited) comfort zone of pasta and helped us discover flavors we loved! Also! Farina has standout dessert options that just make the whole experience that much better.

Truly a great experience. My group of 6 accidentally booked a reservation at the Mexico City located and showed up at the KC location. They were so accommodating and fit us in in 5-10 minutes. Our server was great and very knowledgeable about the menu. The owner/chef came up and chatted with us. Overall, an incredible dining experience. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Drinks were fabulous, the half seafood tower was delicious (looovveed the smoked trout dip), and our entrees were perfect. The orange olive oil cake capped off an incredible dinner with excellent service by Sarah. Can’t wait to come back.

I wanted very badly to have an exceptional dining experience with my family at Farina. The atmosphere and service were great, but our dining experience was far from it...especially with a $700 bill for 4 adults and 2 teenagers. The stuffed veal was not what I was expecting and I think they have missed the 'stuffed'. It wasn't bad and but it wasn't good either, I would never order it again. My daughter had the Carbonara and after I tried it as well, it was horrible, she stated inedible, and all but 3 bites were left at the table. The pork roast was less than impressive. The special was linguine noodles with a red sauce and topped with 1 pound of lobster meat. It was a tad spicy but not something that would leave a lasting impression and 8 ounces would have been a more accurate description of lobster meat. The Fritters were quite dry and very bland. On a better note, the drinks were great along with the Duck meatballs. Maybe we caught them on an off night, but for the quality, flavors and price, you can find much better in KC.

Amazing first experience ! I was expecting small portions because that's common for fancier restaurants- so I was pleasantly surprised with the pasta portions! One of the $16 pastas was split between two people and we were very happy with the portion size. Very kind and cheerful service.

Atmosphere and location was great! Very lively. The food was overall good but pricey and very small portions for price. Pasta was fresh so that is a nice surprise. Ordered dessert and the Italian cookies were yummy.

Very nice little restaurant. Our entrées were excellent. However the octopus appetizer was terribly over salted. As one of my favorites I've had octopus many times all over the world. This one tasted like it was salt cured. Eating it nearly gave my taste buds a chemical burn. The short ribs and gnocchi were great.

Fine dining feel at reasonable prices. We celebrated a birthday and sat in the gallery area. Tables were spread out which enabled good conversation. Service was perfect, efficient but not intrusive. The olives and focaccia brought immediately were the best quality I have experienced. Diverse menu pleased everyone. Excellent experience.

Farina was amazing! I just recently celebrated my 21st birthday here (03/15/22) and the staff and servers were patient, fast, and very helpful! If you’re thinking about celebrating your birthday or any celebration.. do it here! AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING! Thank you Farina! Food was very good.

Had a girl's night out here and had a great experience! The restaurant is very pretty and staff was very pleasant. The menu had a good variety and they were willing to work with any requests or substitutions we asked for, even if it was an off the menu cocktail that was not often asked about (Italian Margarita). Would highly recommend checking out!

The server, David, was super awesome and knowledgeable. He answered every question we threw at him and then some. Not once did he get frustrated. It did take the food a while to come out for our group of six. The tables were also kind of small. The food was okay but I like that everything is fresh. You're mainly paying for the experience. It's very expensive but a nice setting for celebrations and date nights. I parked across the street and that's one of the limitations of this place. Also, the house made lemonade was really delicious!

What an experience! I sat solo at the bar and happened to come in about 5 minutes before the end of happy hour on a Friday night. The bar staff were quick to point out their HH menu and took my order asap to get in a couple specials before it ended. Service was phenomenal, you can just tell these people care about their guests. True hospitality. And the food - From apps to pasta to oysters to dessert right down to the bread, olives and oil, this place is top tier. One Might expect that from a chef with a James Beard, but it’s still impressive. Every detail seems to shine. In a lifetime of excellent culinary experiences, Farina shines. And I don’t give that praise lightly. 🤌 Also perfectly paired cocktails and wines. Che buono!

Absolutely delicious! I’m from Minneapolis traveling with my wife. We decided to try a nice restaurant like Farina. What a great option for fine dining. The restaurant is gorgeous. On side is a little louder than the other. We sat on the quieter, more romantic side with comfortable wing back chairs. Our server Betsy was attentive, kind, and courteous. The star of this place is the food. There is a valid reason why the average rating is 4.8. Such delicious flavors. The pasta is house made. Nothing we ate was overly seasoned. I ate a wood fired ribeye which is better than most steakhouses. My wife had leek campanelle and seared halibut. For dessert, we ordered the panna cotta flight- and absolutely must order item. Yes, this is a fine dining restaurant, but it is a fabulous one at that! Well worth my money and a fun experience.

What can I say, the food is outstanding and Sarah our server was super polite/pleasant, explained the dishes perfectly, and was very efficient at her job. The only addition that could have made the experience an overall 10 (9½ score) would have been more festive lighting inside the dining area. It's Christmas people. Put the lights out! Other than that, terrific. Will be returning for sure.

Loved the whole experience of dining here, the service was phenomenal. It was very packed and I was hoping to seat in the more intimate quiet section but also loved the energy of the place on a Thursday night. We got a bunch of things, there was the Thursday spaghetti special and it was a huge plate that was enough for 2 people, the noodles were good but I didn’t care for the sauce. The meatballs were delicious but the short rib didn’t really pair well with the marinara. I also got the 12oz wood grilled ribeye and while it was cooked to perfection and seasoned very well, about a third of it was fat so couldn’t really eat. Also, definitely try some oysters, our server recommended the east coast ones for their milder, less fishy flavour and it was amazingly fresh and the accompaniments paired perfectly. Don’t skip the dessert either as they have a pastry chef on deck. I thought the chocolate hazelnut tiramisu was off the charts, it was so rich and decadent and just smacked you in the face with coffee and chocolate. My husband loved the apple cider cake, it was fresh and the salted cream and pomegranates added a complex note to it.

I had an exceptional dining experience at Farina in Kansas City. The service was impeccable, and the food was truly delicious. Every aspect of the evening exceeded my expectations, making it a five-star-worthy dining destination.

Michael and Nancy have created a place that makes you feel like you’re surrounded by family and friends. Many on their team have been with them for years and they all are invested in ensuring the Farina experience includes high quality and creative food and drink, a cool, ‘out of town’ kinda vibe, and friendly, fun, attentive service. Farina is a gem and should absolutely be included in your KC fun-dining rotation (although I regret that this review might possibly make it more difficult for us to secure reservations in the future!).

Nice place for fine dining with seafood. We went for a work dinner where we had 7 people. Everyone ordered a bunch of small plates and appetizers to share. The problem is you better like clams, shrimp, octopus, rabbit, calamari, tuna tar tar, etc. There was very little I could enjoy that had chicken, beef, or cheese type dish. I opted for a local salad and chicken piccata, but no appetizer. I was hoping for some pasta but none of the dishes were anything I would eat. Don't get me wrong the food was good according to others just be prepared your people really should like specialty meats or it is kind of a waste. We met Chef Michael Smith which was a very nice touch. I only took a couple of pictures of my salad and dessert but the table was full of all the stuff I mentioned previously.
